Honorable mentions include the poles that hold up piers, submerged lobster traps, ropes under the water, water ride tracks, anchors, underwater propellers, shipwrecks, batteries, random bits of metal in the water, I COULD GO ON.

Im not jokeing i had a dream about my submechanophobia i was in a outdoor pool saveing some drawning child I had the kid in one arm and was swimming back toward the ladder out and an animotronic shark popped up in my way. In the UK our biggest theme park is Alton Towers. The river rapids go through a tunnel and the other the runway mine train goes. Also the log flume goes through some pitch black bits and drops.. I hate it every time as the thought of the tracks and if he runaway mine train is coming through the roar of the train.

Here's a story to freak you out. When I was about 10 or so me and my friend plus my friend's dad walked to this river which had a waterfall and a small pool of water at the top of the fall, I think we were in croatia or somewhere like that. Anyway, we went and swam in this pool of water and everything was fine. Then all of a sudden, we hear this metal on metal sound and start to feel the current change direction. Next thing I know me and my friend were being sucked backwards. We turn around and these huge ducts have opened to the side of the fall, we hadn't seen them when they were closed and there were no signs to warn you. Me and my friend were being sucked towards these big, black, bottomless pits. Because neither of us could touch the bottom we were both swimming for our lives. Luckily my friend's dad is a tall strong guy, who could touch the ground, he grabbed both of us and with alot of effort got us to the side. I now know those ducts were lead to water turbines deep below the ground, and if we'd gone down, he'd have been drowned and crushed in the mass of swirling water and gears. I never realised how close I was to dying until a few years later, it was like I'd semi blocked it from my memory, but one day my friend reminded me, and the feeling of unbelievable dread that I felt that day flooded back into me. I'm not scared of water, but I'll never forget that feeling of helplessness and fear of the unknown.

TW: I went kayaking for a college trip once in these shallow waters where several ships/boats had been reefed (I think is the term. Intentionally sunk) and we could see the ships right below the surface as we paddled along or sometimes just the top of it reached the surface and we'd paddle around. I thought it was really cool! But with your phobia in mind I can imagine how terrifying it would be. I'll have to google where it was again! Ps: fun fact, a lot of ships are intentionally sunk after they've fulfilled their purpose and this is for convenience and it provides new habitats for marine life

It was built during the Spanish-American War, & was purposely partly submerged. It also has a bowling alley inside it. We never went inside, we just swam around it.

Interestingly your dream reminded me of a dream I had when I was 7 years old. It was the first time I went to Walt Disney World and got back to the house at 1:00am. I had a nightmare where I was on the Jungle Cruise and fell out of the boat, into the water with all of the animatronics. I saw the tracks and all of the machinery. My heart was in my throat and I woke up in a cold sweat. Interestingly I had also gotten scared of Constance Hatchaway on The Haunted Mansion but didn’t have a nightmare about her just about being trapped in the water with animatronic hippos. Last year during Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party I rode the Jungle Cruise at night and it was cool but the animatronics went from being a little intimidating in the daytime to terrifying at night. The only light was the little light on the boat as we went around:

3:55 not so fun fact this is actualy real. This is a old mine. Back in the day there was a very Shitty corner on the road if u slipped of the road u would actualy fall in to the mine. Alot of people crashed their cars in the cave but couldnt get them out because they tell so far down the cave. The sun light is actualy the opening the cars would fall down in to the water.

Nah, this is a place where back in the 50s-60s people would dump their old cars into this cave. It was blocked up around the late 60s or late 70s I think, not sure but you should look into it. Its interesting

I understand. I have arachnophobia and every time I come across a picture of a hairy spider on the internet I just go crazy. I shut down my pc and try to relax. I hate those close up pictures that show the front view of a spider exposing the sight of teeth/fangs. Search Arachnophobia test, the video made by Zachary Prosser, or something like that, has an extremely disturbing thumbnail of a black spider. The first time I saw it, I almost had a heart attack

I have a photo of a ship in Cozumel, it’s on its side in shallow water and I saw fishermen flock around it trying to climb into their own boats by lifting themselves with the sunken ship. I took a pic... saw it on daylight and nighttime. It was fucking terrible and scary looking.
