Every fucking album since hyungwon started producing songs his songs are always my favorites from the album. He is a musical genius. (Which is wildfire and burning up in this one)

LITERALLY RIGHT? He has two moods, he either goes dramatic, dark and almost theatrical on us or he goes sexy af... sometimes both ( flashback to Nobody Else ). I just love his style, you can just tell he loves movies and visual arts because his songs are so cinematographic and vivid, they paint a picture.

In case you missed it, track 2 Burning Up and 4 Wildfire was produced by Hyungwon. While track 6 AND was produced by Changkyun. The genius title track maker Jooheon also made Love You.

This album feels indeed like a conversation on love, if you think about the very first line that starts this entire project which is Hyungwon’s ‘What do you think love is?’ it makes sense that this entire project explores the multiple sides and stages of love but also it’s forms. Even the title of the album is a giveaway, SHAPE of love. If you think about it they talk about romantic love, artist-fan love, friendship, allude to sexual love, obsessive and consuming love, sweet and innocent love and so on. Exploring both types of love but also it’s stages I suppose you could say. I think this body of work is more intelligently put together than we can give it credit on a first listen, the concept seems basic and overdone at first but if you dive deep into it you see how detailed and smart it actually is. It also feels like a journey to me, in LOVE they talk about returning to this old love and trying to reigning it’s fire and by the time we get to AND, the closing line is ‘I pray that you don’t forget me’... almost like they failed at what they tried to do or the love consumated once again, which I love. I love sad and dramatic stories lmao I think there can be multiple interpretations on this but I really, really love how they approached this concept, it does not feel shallow at all to me which makes me sooo happy and to see how INVOLVED they were in creating the songs is just such a plus to their artistry in my opinion. 🖤

The album NO LIMIT is kind of funky a little bit and has one sad song you might like (Mercy, also produced by Hyungwon) hahaha, and One Of a Kind album is also a masterpiece, it's the one that has the song Secrets that you've reacted to. Also the King of kings, Fatal Love album.

The chorus to 사랑한다 is giving me very strong "Stand Up" vibes. I'm so happy that you're realizing that not everything Monsta X releases is aggressive. The versatility of these guys is top notch. Maybe it's just me, but I kind of see "Wildfire" as Monsta X saying "Hey, we can write English speaking bops, too, with really good lyrics. You guys don't have to have somebody else writing our English songs for us." Again, though, that's just my take on it. Burning Up is my favorite at the moment.

thank you for reacting 😊 Jooheon actually worked on Love and Saranghanda (with other producers plus IM for his rap part), Burning up (with R3HAB) and Wildfire (w/ Jooheon & IM) were written, produced & arranged by Hyungwon together with Jantine Anikka & Justine Oh, AND was created by IM and his crew, Breathe was in fact the only track not made by the producer line (Jooheon, IM & Hyungwon). If you want sad bops you might want to check out another song by Hyungwon called Mercy. He has also written, produced and arranged an all English Song called Secrets and speaking of English Songs they already have 2 Full English Albums that you may want to check out. Thank You!

Thanks for the reaction! Monsta X was the first K-pop group I got into. This Korean album is unlike their others (more emo-sad like their English albums), and it's great seeing their growth, especially in regards to Hyungwon and IM, who previously didn't get as many lines. The last song, AND, really hit me. I was reminded of seeing them live back in 2019 with all 7 members. Even though Wonho has left and Shownu is away, I won't forget them or the group, and they'll always hold a special place in my heart~

In this album I think my favorite are Wildfire & AND. I think you might like The connect album. Title track jealousy is such a good song to me. They have Fallin and special to enjoy. There is lost in the dream, one of their most emotive, beautiful song + if only with beautiful lyrics. It's a mixt of all genre.

I feel like you would really enjoy One of a kind album - that's the one with Gambler as title track, but all of their albums are really filled with variety - usually we get like one or two aggressive bops/party songs, one or two sweet songs like Saranghanda (that's one of Jooheon's signature type of songs tbh) and one or two sad/emotional/sexy songs (which is IM's signature sound)... so there's usually something for everyone packed there. I'm so happy you enjoyed this - I though you would when I heard the album yesterday and I hope you'll dive into their albums when you have time from now on. It's a bit hard for me to pick favorites here too, but I have like top 4 hahaha.. which are Love, Burning Up, Wildfire and And. Wildfire is actually written by all three of our composers - Hyungwon, Jooheon and IM, so that's extra special (if I'm not mistaken it's the first song that all three of them worked together on). I get major Nobody Else vibes from Hyungwon's part in Wildfire, fitting that he was involved in both songs 💚 however, 사랑한다 and AND are my favorites, though it's hard to pick! Their English Albums, All About Luv and The Dreaming, are more funky but you already said you'd do those. I agree with everyone else that Fatal Love, One of a Kind, and/or No Limit are great choices but Follow: Find You or Fantasia X show different sides of Monsta X as well. Basically you can't go wrong with any album!

Off the top of my head here are some recommendations for funky Monsta X songs, or ones with a more groovy vibe: - Monsta Truck (this one is super funky!) - Because of U (this is more of a chill/groovy vibe) - Rollercoaster (one of my all time favs) - Livin' It Up (a Japanese song of theirs, but they also more recently came out with a Korean version) - BEBE (another chill groovy track) - Ride With U (I love this track so much) In terms of albums, Fatal Love I think has a really solid tracklist, definitely check that one out. I also would recommend their most recent English album The Dreaming. Honestly over the span of their discography they've tried out so many genres it's astonishing 😲and they do it so well! Also, if you're looking for sentimental/slow Monsta X, here are some recs! - Sorry I'm Not Sorry (a really pretty ballad, kinda has a coffeehouse vibe) - Broken Heart (a classic love song ballad, great vocals on this one!) - Find You (a sentimental pop-esque track) - The Dreaming (a beautiful ballad off their English album with the same name) - UR (more of a slow/sexy r&b vibe) - Myself (I don't even know how to describe this track? kinda angsty? something like that lol) Thanks again for reacting to them!!
