Folie à deux is a shared psychosis. It is not just twins. It can even be several people or a whole family. I hope they have had treatment. But a tragedy for the family and friends of the B&B owner. 😢

I agree man, it’s SO great to see Ballen doing so amazing! I’ve been a sub since 25k on his channel. I have to admit I was sure his wife was really worried when her US Navy SEAL , one of the most trained and elite war fighters on earth after retiring decides to tell stories on KZbin making no money for a bit but she obviously had faith in him and Navy SEAL veterans don’t fail in life. They work to hard to meet their goal. Most of all I’m just so happy for him becasue serving as an elite SEAL doing the most dangerous special operations in the world , he deserved to do something not dangerous now and succeed!

Former medic here. Have had had a patient spit DIRECTLY into my eyes. DIRECTLY. She was on our stretcher, with me standing next to her thinking, "Okay, well, she's finally on the stretcher so we're good." And then just "Pffff" right into my eyes. A girl with a multitude of mental health issues, so much so that she was a ward of the state at like 22. Hello HIV and STD tests.

The two women seem like they were pretty severely schizophrenic. I wondered when they first mentioned having the police randomly check up on their kids but everything in that story suggests schizophrenia (though it could be something else similar, the brain is a crazy place).

Folie a deux is basically an alternative name for Mass Psychogenic Illness, or more commonly, Mass Hysteria (although I think most people use the term Folie a Deux for smaller cases where literally only two people are affected; Mass Psychogenic Illness or Hysteria is attributed to large crowds of people, as in people going berserk or panicking for no easily discernable reason, such as the Dancing Plagues of the late medieval times where people would just... dance themselves to death). Also, Folie a Deux was the name of an album by the American band Fall Out Boy. At least that's where I first heard the term before I decided to look it up in encyclopedias and French language guides, as I barely know any French beyond some basic terms (and plus, I don't think Cajun French is quite the same as European French).

I couldn't imagine the horror of pulling someone directly into a shared psychotic episode. I guess that movie Bug is kinda like that. Though they sound like they went full _Split_ Beastmode just by surviving.

There aint no way a girl got hit by a fucking truck doing 60 and only had broken legs and was still conscious. That's not physically possible. A 40 ton fully loaded truck doing 60 carries the same kinetic energy as a regular family car doing about 300. Her body would be fucking mush, and probably in pieces.

Children being raised by animals is surprisingly more common than you would think and there are examples of it in almost every culture around the world. Some of the most common animals to raise humans are other primates and canids including wolves.
