I wanted to let you know because you were a huge motivation for him! My son is a sophomore in HS and just made the JV team after starting volleyball a few years ago because of watching Haikyuu!! He is ridiculously stoked because they made him the Libero and he's been working so hard on his receives thinking to get an opposite hitter posiution. We just started hitting the gym together a month ago and his jump already increasing. My family tends to grow late, and he's just hitting his growth spurt and muscle development so in a year or two he's looking to be a 6'3 monster with libero experience. XD Thanks for being an inspiration for so many!

Hey Erik, I love your videos❤️but I have a question and if anyone else can help me with it, I’m trying out for my boys school team and I’m considered good at receiving. One issue I’m having though is overpassing, i overpass and it goes over the net is there anyway to fix this, I’m trying to either get lower or to fix my platform
@ErikShojivolleyball

work on possibly changing your angle and also try to think to receive the ball off the net. sometimes thinking off the net can help! you got this!

Hey Eric, Simon’s set at 3:11 - Why is this not a carry? I see the occasional pass like this and the hands are down low (near the chin or lower) and almost scoop the ball. I’m surprised it’s not called

@@Lumiere20 Zenit St Petersburg's players got infected with Covid. But the team weren't allowed to reschedule the match as they had a number of players available enough to form a team for the match. Urnaut was recovering from a knee injury - he couldn't jump, but can still pass the ball. Watching Grebennikov play OH confirms the theory that his arm swing is a beauty to watch. =)

There are some rows that De Cecco blocked at position 4 in this game. But most of the time I saw setters block at position 2. I'm so confused about the reason of this strategy. Plz tell me🙏🙏🙏

It's to do with blocking sizes and the frontcourt hitters on the other team
@gusvanhaelst1853
@gusvanhaelst1853 2 жыл бұрын
The opposite is backrow, while there is a good outside attacker. By switching them the undersized setter (De Cecco, but also Toniutti often does this) does not have to block the outside attacker and there is a strong block on the outside, which can be done as the opposite is backrow and is less likely to hit over the block of the setter

Robert Landy Simon is not 'one of the best middleblockers in the world'. He is by far the best! Not only that, he should be considered as the best volleyball player out there. Injury is one thing. There is also scenario where ref sees mistake like net touch and stops the play. If team challanges and turns out there was no fault on their side, ref has to call for replay.
