7:24 I was hoping the cancelled HBO reboot would use JT and Liberty's son as the anchor character in the same way Emma was for early Degrassi TNG, a foundational thread linking the two series. Make up a reason for his adoptive family needing to move back to the area and have the pilot perhaps be him on his 18th birthday (or any) where his adoptive parents give him the memory box that Liberty prepared for him way back in TNG, with them considering him mature enough now to know where he came from and who his biological parents are.

This and maybe Emma could have been a teacher at the school to carry on the tradition as well. I would love to see Emma find out that JT and Liberty's kid is in Degrassi as maybe one of her students And as much as people hated the Spinner and Emma ship, I'd love to see teacher Emma's home life being a mom to her and Spinner's kid.

They should have done a murder trial in season 7 with J.T's killer. It would've been interesting seeing people who were there firsthand like Johnny and Liberty relive their experiences.

I’m dying for a Degrassi revival. I’m getting through Degrassi Junior High now and I’m obsessed with all the parallels between characters and storylines with TNG. But I do feel like they’d have to start with younger kids so we have time to grow with them and become attached. That’s what worked so well with Degrassi Jr/High and the first era of TNG. I never got super attached to the later classes because when we meet them they are already into high school drama and sometimes it felt like too much too soon for a character I barely knew.

they also don't have a connection like craig and Joey/ Caitlin or Emma and snake/ spike/ Shane. the next gen had the show allure of the previous cast and the new one. id definitely want to see Jack or Angela or liberty's son or maybe even Jenna's son Tyson.

@@chaosspy6723 There would absolutely have to be a connection and some of the TNG cast! I’m sure they could get creative like they did with Craig being Joey’s stepson. I’d want Marco back as a full time teacher or principal.

Full video on Craig and Ashley please! When those two were good, they were GOOD, and when they were bad, they were BAD! Yet they really worked imo, they both tried to make their relationship work and both understood each other.

i feel the same they both wild af but they actually are that way together so it works like when craig or ash was with someone else i felt they kind of dragged those people down but when ash and craig were together they both actually suited each other's chaotic natures i know a lot of people hated them because both of their characters get a lot of hate but they actually had chemistry and i liked them together idc it was the only ship i liked with both of their character ngl ellie and craig is so gag

I think and even more controversial take that I recently came into is that I am pissed they never gave Craig and Emma time to be a ship. It seemed that the writers were really building that one up. I mean he checked Emma out so hard at the dance when she was dressed like her mom and it was obvious he wanted to ask her to dance but chickened out and asked Manny instead. I don't think this was a ship that should have lasted but have it be for a while before they both realize they are better as friends. Also, other hot take on Emma, a lot of people get upset at her for her morals and being up in people's faces about it. I think if Emma had been a guy sort of character it wouldn't be seen as such a bad trait. I always felt that people didn't like Emma because she was assertive with h er beliefs, which is something as a society we often deem as unlady like People may have found her a little annoying but not as bad as everyone seems, also, being that self-centered at that age is perfectly normal to add.

i kinda wish they brought back craig in next class to teach some music classes. i know he comes back for a few scenes durning the talent show but jake epstein is such a good actor and i think he could have given some great advice to characters like maya when she was struggling. i also wish they had more kids going the musical route because it seems like after whisper hug fell off (thank god) maya and maybe jonah were the only remaining degrassi next class students pursing music.

I haven’t rewatched in a bit but my Degrassi opinion on my last rewatch was that Becky would have explored her sexuality with Imogen if Adam hadn’t existed, because he was trans making his ex-girlfriend get with a girl after their relationship could make it look like a repeat of the Fiona and Adam storyline. Imogen and Becky had a lot of chemistry and at times it seemed like Becky was jealous of Imogens relationships so I wouldn’t be surprised if the writers thought about putting them in a relationship.

i think for the most part alli and clare were very sweet to each other (it has also been a while since i rewatched so correct me if i’m wrong) i just do wish we got more scenes of them together in the later seasons because alli was with jenna a lot due to them living together and such

10:29 this could probably an unpopular opinion of its own… but class of 2016 is MY favorite. i will always be a next class dickrider fr. unlike most people, i started with next class- i saw it when i was in 7th grade right after s4 just came out. that was my first exposure to teen television period, other than seeing a couple eps of next gen on teennick when i was younger. so I really like next class just because I digested it on its own at first. i will admit in the context of next gen it really isn’t that great. and comparatively to the original classes, it’s really not The best. but i will proudly be the class of 2016 defender . i grew up with those characters and i’m biased!!

I hated Jake and Claire’s relationship, them together wasn’t bad, kinda boring to me but everyone just ignores the fact that their parents were dating AT THE SAME TIME, and when Jake and alli kissed they’re parents were in the process of getting married. And no one ever brings that up when talking about their relationship, they’re were legit the “oh no step bro, what are you doing” 😂😂
