There are many double meanings in this, like with every Ren song. It’s kind of cool how the whole theme bounces back and forth between being “ill” as in great, and “ill” as in sick. He plays on that so very well. Every line could be looked at both ways and he never stops reminding you that he is struggling with illness, but it’s not preventing him from being the illest.

Absolutely. I watched the live drop and I respected it and thought it was good. I think I’m on listen 30 something now, and it’s on of my faves. I catch something new each time. Ren is changing the game. And I’m not mad about it in the slightest!

Well with Ren you have to understand that he's been in therapy for very long time so he knows how to channel the creations that come from the depression. There is creativity in it I used to write poetry all the time but when I was 13 it turned real dark for not any real good reason it was because of my illness being bipolar genetically but I continue to write for a while and the poems that I wrote were even more twisted than what he's writing.

is writing is so deep even when you hear it 10 times you can still pick up more meanings. I find that when I pull up the bars I can read it like poetry; it truly is (Poetry), and I end up seeing so much more then just rhyme schemes. Here's a small example of just one of his flows that every reactor; except for you, did not have much to say about but has so much depth and meaning. It shows what he's been through and is going through now. Take a look at the "I'm not feeling well section" here are the Bars don’t feel so hot my brother Aching, shaking, stop then stutter Things gone wrong Hit by king king kong A Swan-ton bomb like Hardy Brothers I don't feel so fresh my bro Things get slurry speaking slow Head in Hong Kong wonton soup Is what I have for Brains I know He's explaining what he's been going through, his symptoms, how he feels when he's at his worst. Second stanza is some of the side effects and damage caused by the Lyme disease. He's having problems with his speech, some times he stutters, and Lyme ate away at membrane surrounding the brain. That's why he's in Canada being treated by one of the only doctors in the World who may be able to save him from brain damage and give him a chance at a long and healthy life. Tom Macdonald did that to me in November 2022. #HOG I learned to appreciate Rap again, with an abstinence/disinterest of two decades. I mean, I loved and jumped through the club in the 90's to Beastie Boys, House of Pain, old RATM, RHCP, Faith No More etc. But it took Tom to draw me back in and really listen and learn the lingo of dissection from the likes of Cliff Beats and Knox Hill and #TeamSupreme. And now, the Renaissance is upon us.
