They even said this is more yards than he ran for all through college. “With Christian McCaffrey sidelined with a calf/Achilles injury, Mason did a fair impression of the NFL's reigning Offensive Player of the Year in his first career start by rushing for 147 yards on 28 carries and scoring on a 5-yard run.”

49ers run game is gonna be even scarier this season. When CMC comes back, you literally will have to pick poison. Do you want to leave CMC 1-on-1, because he lines up everywhere. Or do you want to take a shot with Jordan Mason who's like a mini Beast Mode Marshawn Lynch (pushing piles and dragging defenders). Then there's Juice and Deebo as well, who do just the same as CMC and Mason.

I had to stop and give my thoughts on someone teaching Purdy how to slide. He wanted that 1st down, he has said before sliding feet first “can” be a dangerous thing if the defender doesn’t let up, and if I’m not mistaken… you are not down until you hit the ground and someone touches you, giving you extra yardage… unlike being down where you “started” the slide. Just my opinion with a touch of facts.

man, i wish they would teach on the defensive side that if you're offsides don't stop - just go straight for the qb. you've already committed and crossed the line so don't let up and just keep going. you're already penalized don't give the opposing team a free play/free touch down (especially to Aaron Rodgers).

As you were saying we might not be able to get it done (through a season) without CMC… I knew you didn’t see anything of the game yet. 😂 I’m definitely anticipating your reaction to my guy Mason. Dude is a beast, and I have been saying this since his first year with the Niners. And he earned anything coming to him after his first career start. I can’t wait to see how he follows up as a starter next week. CMC may not play against the Vikings. And if he balls out again, I see them rest CMC til he’s 💯.

calf / achilles is nothing to play with...I'd keep him out until he's 💯 regardless. doesn't take much to make those achilles pop once they're tight. wouldn't even look for CMC to start until week 4 at the earliest. JP will get plenty of experience in the next few weeks that will help out down the line.

@@nadjasunflower1387 I agree 100% but as a competitor, we know it’s hard to stay out… pleading to the boss man that you feel fine and are ready to go… 😂 CMCs biggest enemy and friend, is himself right now. I know this team will get it done with or without. I always certain, and still am, that Kyle was gonna go heavy on the pass. After watching this game and thinking about facts, it makes sense to keep with the run right now. Allow Trent to get into “shape” and allow Aiyuk to get back on script and reactions. Later we will see a really high flying air attack from these guys. But it’s no lie to know the run is there when needed.

Mitchell got hurt on every play, why play him over this guy who just takes chunks every time he touches the ball? It’s not like Mitchell went out there to block or catch. Just saying, I have been huge in Mason since day one.

Reports out of camp this year was Mason has all of that on lock...and now we see the results. Mitchell can't touch him for the 2 spot...and it's beautiful. 😁

Aiyuk dropped a dot, dime, perfect throw from Purdy in the end zone. And the 49ers had two touchdowns called back bc of holding with the 2nd holding call a weak one. Eventually Deebo got the touchdown on a run. Except for the one that was almost intercepted, Purdy and the 49ers played a more reserved game and ended up hurting the Jets on 8 straight possessions getting points, though 6 were field goals and that wasn’t always bc of the Jets but at times it was and they deserve credit for not fully wilting or giving up. The 4th down stop on the Jets also had the 49ers defender get their early but it was bang bang so the refs probably just missed it, should’ve been a penalty tho. This one was more about the 49ers and less about the Jets, and I don’t think the Jets are going to be bad at all, just a bad matchup and a rusty Rodgers. Jets will at the very least come in 2nd in the AFC east and may even win it. Other than that, let’s go 49ers!!!

Jordan Mason legit, and I said that last season. He didn't get much field time last season, but the time he did have was gold nearly every time he got a touch, and I'm glad he got the chance to show off the skills in this game.

About not being able to beat up the chiefs, or however you put it, they had the chiefs contained in the superbowl. I promise you the refs missed huge hold penalties throughout the game… holds that allowed big plays… the winning touchdown in overtime by the chiefs literally had a huge holding penalty go uncalled right in Mahomes face. In this game against the jets…. Oh boy! Bosa was literally put in a choke hold and pulled backwards. This foul went uncalled as well! There was an illegal formation penalty called on the jets when that happened to Bosa… look it up, it was insane!

Mahomes didn’t beat the 49ers in the SB. The refs and Shanahan did. And fyi, Niners D got Mahomes too with a pick. But watch the film and count the holding penalties on Chiefs OL that weren’t called, including a 3rd and long which would have negated a TD. That alone was the game right there, never mind the other holding penalties that weren’t called.
