I think the TM 88 “the unicorn” during hay day. Right around Christmas were being price gouged $200 for a naked one no box and line from her hip to foot looking like it was done with a sharpie. Dolls for $300 with hair looking like she was struck by lightning. I know she was sold out in stores due to not enough dolls to meet demand but WHAT???

Retired accessory sets are always listed for far too much money, in my opinion. The best one I’ve seen is Josefina’s bird whistle from her summer set, JUST THAT ONE TINY ITEM, for over $100. I think it was 118.

A trend I notice is that a seller will take a doll and sell each individual item of clothing separately. Also the prices vary their's people that think Holiday Barbies are worth a grand.

I don't collect American Girl, but I do collect Barbie, and they do the same thing with those dolls. There will be crazy prices like $1,000.00 or $5,000.00 for dolls that should sell for around $30.00 to $60.00.

what I found hilarious on eBay once was someone had an naked ag doll labeled as melody. it was no where near melody and they wanted $90. I wanted to call out the seller so I did. they said oh do you know the name of her? 😂

That's the one that I currently have and when I bother out of the American girl doll store it was only 300 and they have a deal that if you buy the doll in the store you can get the accessories and the book for free the book comes with adult but you would get their accessories that go with that outfit for free

Let me start out with saying this video is hilarious! I really hope that wig for almost 3,000 dollars was a mistake because if not, just wow….. It is so frustrating when people sell things that you can still buy from American girl BRAND NEW for more than American girl sells them for! That beforever Melody and Samantha were ridiculous. Also, when people just use the stock photos for Ebay so you can’t even see what you are getting. I swear, people just see the word American Girl and think they can make a fortune off of it! You should definitely make more videos like this!

I really hate it when lazy sellers just use a stock photo to list their item - like pull your camera out and snap a couple of pictures of the ACTUAL item, I promise it won’t hurt 💀💀💀💀

You can always take your dolls to the American girl doll store they now have a hospital which is really cute and the doctors for the American girl doll hospital can check their limbs to see if they're loose or not and they are loose they can fix them which I think is so cute that they have a doctor for the American girl dolls

Keep in mind, some people who sell AG dolls believe that they are valuable, antique and collectible, hence, there are ridiculously high price stickers. Many overprice them, and some terribly underprice just because they don’t know and don’t do the research. We’ve all seen dolls mislabeled, names and TM numbers messed up. I saw the original 4 bundle set for several thousands and the girls there do not seem to be from the first releases, I know Felicity was definitely from early 2000s based on her face shape eyebrows and all, I assume the others three were too just from random years, I just hope no new collector falls for it.

This is the down payment to a car. I can buy 10 wardrobes for myself. My blinds for most of my condo costs less. I would rather buy a new doll from American Girl then spend all of the money these people are asking for. Even on Amazon they are asking for way too much. Though the shipping is free.

OK… This is kind of the opposite idea. But I saw a KZbin or doing a video about a Molly doll, and a review of her trip to the doll hospital. She had bought the Molly and another doll and a trunk and tons of clothes for 100 bucks. She couldn’t really see the dolls because they were covered with the clothing. Anyhow, when she showed how great the Molly came out from the hospital, she noticed writing on her tummy. She was concerned that she might not be able to sell her. She had a doll signed by Pleasant Rowland!

Sometimes I know fellow collectors will sell to each other and list for insane prices with a "make an offer" option, so that no one else buys the listing, and the seller can accept the agree-upon price as an offer from their friend. I REALLY hope thats the case for some of these 😅

I saw a #28 in a Star Hoodie outfit "sell" for $2025 on 6/22/22. Watching this video prompted me to go look it up again and it turns out that most of the bidding was from someone who was not a registered eBay user. Are they trying to launder money somehow? I'm not sure. So strange. I also think that some people just list things on eBay for insane prices thinking that someone will think, "Oh, that must really be worth something" and possibly bid. Great video idea! Thanks for sharing!

that $3,000 wig is laughable. i can get a HUMAN SIZED WIG that looks EXACTLY LIKE IT (hell itd probably look better than that) for like $100 or cheaper (usd). i have quite a few wigs for cosplaying aswell, NONE of them even came CLOSE to $100 or above. also wigs are very easy to make for dolls. watch literally any doll customizing video on here and you'll quickly learn so many random skills
