It’s still surprises me to this day that PENTAGON is still being severely SLEPT ON. Seriously...what more do you these ppl want from these boys?! They’ve shown how INSANELY talented they are in composing, creating choreographies, VOCALS, DANCING, ACTING, GREAT PERSONALITIES, HILARIOUS AF, and FULL OF PASSION. They all put so much into everything they release and even on live stages. I mean I know as a Universe, I shouldn’t really care about charting or winning all the time. BUT DAMN IT.. PENTAGON WORKS SO DAMN HARDDD AND THEY RELEASE BOPS!!! How the heck does “SHINE” not win #1 on music shows? How the heck did they not win any music shows this year with Dr. BeBe?! It gets kind of tiring and frustrating seeing the boys put themselves out there with their music and just not accomplishing what they want.. especially for Dr. BeBe era... it killed me to see Kino crying when they were talking about how they really wanted this song to be in the charts, but it just didn’t happen..and then the other members started tearing up..and I’m just like.. YOU BOYS DESERVE SO MUCH MORE!!! We’re working hard and trying our best to get those accomplishments for you. It’s times like that where I just feel gutted.. what else can we do except continue trying to promote PENTAGON, stream, and vote for them. *sighs* Let’s stay strong Universes!! We’ll try even harder for their upcoming comeback!! Let’s do this!! Let’s get that 1st win for our boys! 💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪

Cube’s statement about this song says “Basquiat is an electronic rock dance music that is inspired by Jean-Michel Basquiat’s drawing. It is a song with a grand message of “Let’s find freedom” to those who live with persecution and oppresion.” The quote is as well related to Basquiat’s painting. The whole song, video and performance is truly meaningful. This is a new era for pentagon and i’m here for it :) In Road to Kingdom, Hui spoke about their struggle in the industry between doing what is popular and making the kind of music they want to make. They decided to carve their own path. Thanks for reacting to this! You're the only reactor I saw take the time to read the lyrics to it. I think you'd really enjoy Pentagon's RTK collab with ONF of Kill This Love (Hui's arrangement). They also chose to use one of their performances as a send off for Jinho, Shine+Spring Snow. They surprised him with a message in the middle, so it was emotional. It also showed Jinho's incredible vocal ability--he sang the last half of the song crying but didn't miss a note. (Some of their competitors were even crying.) FYI, for RTK performances, if it says "Full ver." it's the song without any cuts. The slightly longer vids with the same name have the competitors reaction to the performance cut in. You don't miss anything because of they way they do the cuts (that's why they're longer).

Hui said this song was inspired by Jean-Michel Basquiat. The quote is more clearly attributed to Basquiat in the live RTK, version. He mentioned how PTG has struggled between making music the industry favors and creating the kind of music they want to make. They decided to carve their own path, so the theme is resistance. I love Hui's version of Swim Good. You should also check out his other performances from breakers if you haven't seen them already. Navigation, Bodyguard and For You. For You he wrote for pentagon, and his family - it will make you tear up a little but it is such a powerful performance.
