What are you talking about? Everyone says LT did well for his level of experience and Bam Bam gets a lot of praise for being one of the best big men of his era. It's just that match didn't work as a main event of Wrestlemania as there were no real stakes and wrestling fans had no vested interest in LT.

He will not face of the company but Ilja will be one of the top guys.

But, with him in the mix, it does help and does make Bron's winning the title a little more in doubt. Only from the interference aspect. Probably end with Bron and Sami in a cage or something or a triple threat or 4 way with Seamus thrown in.

But, it's funny they were still hot last year when ALL IN happened. That was the show that things kind of changed. Punk incident, then Cole injured. After that was when the ratings started dropping and attendance fell off. But, it will be interesting to see what they do with Ospreay on that card. He could boost the sales if he gets a big match. Maybe not, just a thought.

All In this year is still 2 months away, so while I wouldn't expect any matches announced yet (and we saw this week with Garcia/MJF that the event is on AEWs minds with having them tease a match there), I do agree somewhat that AEW do need to get better in general at announcing cards sooner than what they currently do and actually building towards those matches to make them feel important and 'PPV worthy'. AEW have got into a bit of a frustrating habit of announcing most of a PPV card the week before an event, often with matches that just feel like filler.

WWE doesn't mention AEW because they don't want to promote it, it will make fans tune in to watch AEW. AEW is getting smoked in ratings and attendance, the fans will say its not competition or its an alternative. But at the end of the day WWE knows that if AEW gets rid of Tony Khan it will will boom because AEW have good financial backing. Only one person is holding back AEW that is Tony Khan.

Here's my issue with the Liv Morgan stuff: it's a fun and interesting story (even if it isn't really for me), but it doesn't need the title. To the point where Zelina Vega is calling her out on Raw for not taking it seriously. This story is the exact same with or without the belt, which for me is a negative because you could tell this story, which is working and FINALLY giving Liv some personality, without the belt and given the belt to someone else (Lyra, Iyo, Shayna, Zelina) who would've benefitted from it much more. Not that Liv isn't benefitting from having the belt, just the story is what's making people interested, not the championship.

I disagree for only one reason, the belt is part of the whole "revenge tour" Idea. Liv trying to take or turn everything Rhea has into her own, Her boytoy dom, her place in the Judgement Day, her championship. does the parts of the story that are working NEED the belt id argue no but with the angle they are going with her having the belt makes sense.

my hot take of the week: NJPW was on a resurgence from 2014ish to 2019 then the 'vid hit them pretty hard and AEW is just picking the carcass clean. most of their stars work now for AEW or are ready to basically retire. i don't care much anymore for the Bullet Club or any other factions they have and unless they can built up some new stars from the young lions NJPW will dissapear in the next 5 years.

NJPW lost their major stars to AEW, Kenny Omega, Kota Ibushi, Okada, Osprey and Jay White and most Japanese guy they have don't draw in the Americans audience since they have the same guys on top for years. Even their IWGP title is used like a mid-card title in AEW, it just adds to accolades of Jon Moxley but doesn't do anything for NJPW.

Agree that Forbidden Door has lost its lustre. The first one felt special in a 'weve never seen this happen before' kinda special moment. But as a repeating annual event, Forbidden Door just feels more like a showcase event rather than a 'must see PPV'. Its understandable that you cant spend a month every year between 2 companies running full on inter-promotion feuds to hype the event and so 80% of the card just ends up being random matches announced between guys that theyve had no interaction with. The point being, Forbidden Door from a storyline perspective is a completely skippable event - if you dont see it, doesnt really matter, because none of the outcomes are gonna continue in a storyline sense in the weeks following - both comapines will do their seperate thing again until this time next year. So as a fan you dont have to get 'invested' in the FD concept as a must see event. Cleverly this year theyre trying to counter that a bit by having a AEW themed story actually happen at FD in Swerve v Ospreay. The outcome of that match will effect AEW TV next week in a major way. But the rest of the card - honestly - for an AEW audeince, its of little to no consequence really: Naito v Mox - that outcome only really matters to what happens on New Japan TV. MJF v Hechicero. Complete throwaway match. So much so that it was randomly announced last week, but this week on TV MJFs segment was focused on Garcia instead, just days away from the PPV. Jericho, another example. Involved in a feud with Team Joe. But this week, days away from the event, is challenged to a PPV title match by Suzuki via a quick video segment. Just absolutely random matches, late booking and cold start feuds.

Regarding the Liv being an interesting champion.. I strongly disagree. I feel like Liv has been a more interesting character since the story with Rhea. But a story where, as champion, it's just an accessory. The championship hasn't really been featured. She seems more like a ring rat for Dom that happens to get paid by WWE 🤷

Samoa Joe was right when he said The forbidden door was bad for wrestlers. If a talent leaves WWE or AEW on bad terms, a bunch of companies won't touch them, to protect their relationships.

I don't think that's true. NJPW has never shied away from booking someone fired from the states because of some backstage or even legal issue back when they were working with ROH and the likes of Low Ki, Marty Scurll, and Michael Elgin were being blacklisted by the promotion. Likewise, TNA and GCW haven't veered away from booking either AEW or former WWE talents like Matt Riddle who left on dubious terms despite WWE seeming to have a relationship with the promotions. AEW's booked Kota Ibushi and Katsuyori Shibata when both were causing drama in NJPW. I don't think these relationships are that delicate.

Now this has me thinking: With being out for surgery, injury time and just taking time off... Since Triple H took over Charlotte has barely been in WWE. And for the question that was asked: It seems like there are a few stories and rivalries going on in the women's division since Hunter is running creative and going back over the last 5-6 years I can't remember any memorable stories Charlotte was in - what she was in seemed to just be: "I'm Charlotte Flair and I am better than you" feuds or "I'm Charlotte Flair, I want the title and you are in my way" feuds. The only memorable thing I can think she did other than that might be back 7-8 years when she was Dana Brooke's mentor, but that didn't really go very far either.

Hadn't thought of it but Sami working a program with Priest for the World title would make for good TV but I think they ran out of time to squeeze that in because I don't see Priest surviving Gunther at SummerSlam if even gets that far since Seth makes more sense being a established face against the heel Gunther. Also, fun fact (for Steve): I currently live only 3 miles from the Yankee Doodles you talked about but I grew up in Santa Monica so the one in the 3rd Street Promenade is the one I used to frequent. I believe they are both closed now and the franchise may be dead.

He’s getting hotter and more credible each week and they should not waste anytime establishing him as a champion. But it’s the Triple H Era and he has a really hard time striking while the iron is hot (Cody and Rhea are the only exceptions). Not everyone needs a year long build to finally winning something

I agree, not everything has to be long term booking. Bron Brekker is bound to be face of the company and he should win this not squash match but dominate the match. This win will solidify him. LA Knight is also another whom HHH hasn't strike it on right moment, Knight lost momentum but it's still over he needs the US title desparately. Logan is good for views but in long term it's holding back mid-card division in SmackDown.

I don't watch AEW really at all. I just follow the news and am a huge wrestling fan in general. I've consumed tons of indy like most of us have. IMO Kazuchika Okada and Will Ospreay are very easily 2 of the most talented wrestlers of this era hands down. I don't care for most of AEWs business practices or sophomoric wrestling psychology. However, I wont deny the greatness of either person just cuz i enjoy WWE more. Obviously, if they weren't getting paid a crapload more money WWE would've signed them immediately. So lets not act like everyone over there isn't worth their hype. It's TK that's dropped the ball with how to make money off of them

19:00 Okada's booking in the elite doesn't make sense. You're making excuses for horrendous booking because of good matches. This is a generational talent we're talking about or so many people say. I didn't follow his NJPW stuff but in AEW he hasn't felt at all like he lives up to his reputation. I'm expecting someone on the level of Hogan, Austin, Cena, and Roman...not this comedy guy whose mostly a background player and has good matches along with everyone else having good matches on that show. This is backed up by the complete lack of a ratings draw he's been for the company.

But it's crazy how joe hendry nxt debut has more viewers, bo dallas/uncle howdy interview has more viewers in less time than ospreay debut, okada debut, and mjf return. Also what's everything else? Sami looks homeless, has no gimmick, no cool attire, no cool finisher and he looks like he's never hit up a gym. Wrestler's under HHH get carried by storylines but they're very unremarkable as characters. Anyone can fill Sami's Sandals.

@@greasy2007 It's ok to not to like everything in the HHH era. He's good at creating fun storylines for a few select wrestlers and the production quality has gone up since him taking over. But his lack of likeable cool characters/gimmicks isn't anything to be happy about. Some of the NXT callups, not only get jobbed but if they have a character HHH will take it away and make them generic. Storylines and factions are carrying most wrestlers, otherwise people would realize that a lot of them can't even cut a good promo. I'll end it on saying that Sami is good at promos and character work for what it's worth. Just not at the moment.

Osprey promo's suck all he does is say Bruv, brings up his family and talks about the feeling. Many people don't watch New Japan so since being in AEW the promo supposed skill has been ass. And the god awful promo he tried to cut on HHH because he felt butt hurt proves it even more. Adding the fact HHH was proven right because dude hadn't even worked every dynamite. And they need him to as he is their big "star"
