But obtaining that identity is easier said that done. Having your style alone is not enough to gain that special aura. Now Remix showed lot of progress maturing his composition (round 2 was basically flawless). That is one big hurdle holding Remix back for years cleared. Next, and probably the last one, is to break out of template. This is what D-Low's saying. It will require lot of trial and errors and freestyles. Finding another template will not bring him aura. Identity is universal across all genre

This battle was so important in defining the pillars of subjective criteria for what wins GBB battles. It really takes so much preparation for a beatboxer to deliver at the highest levels of crowd-pleasing insano drops but to also deliver it in a way that is of intricate and intelligent design. I really like that you took your time to flesh out your thoughts because it is important for the subtle distinction between these two amazing beatboxers' performance to be made clear. big ups to this battle! it really was totally bonkers

For ones thinking Remix got robbed, this was a very tight battle and both were equally deserving, Remix's loss have clear justifications and so does his chances of a victory 1) Remix is way too repetitive with his routines (with all due credit to his mind-boggling skills). His initial drops in both the rounds were too similar to differentiate. His routines are so overused that we all knew what was about to come. On the other hand Osis has given masterpieces in every single round. His artistic flare combined with his beatboxing skill makes great routines (kinda like what D-Low did in '18 and '19) 2) Remix was much more complex and harder on the in-and-out, whereas Osis kept it simple and classy. So Remix did outperform Osis on the complexity front, but Osis was more versatile with his skill, being comparatively less repetitive and more musical (hip-hop/trap style). A different day, a different judging panel, and we might have seen Remix in the final.

i think remix beat himself in a weird way. i feel like what he dropped, would of worked way better for solo elim. He went 110% when he could of done 90% with more drums and he would of prolly won, but thats just imo.

I think he could have lost to Abo Ice if Ice wasn't sloppy and unclean. He feels like the intelligent brain, not used optimally. D-low too said that a 6 y/o routine wont win you a GBB SF

For me Osis' "Acid Rain" was the best original track this GBB. I've gotta be honest I had a large minus points for Remix because he did "butterfly doors". Inertia has already done it and it's a MASSIVE cover song in the community. Don't do that at GBB xD

Hard agree with the takes. What Osis has going for him in this battle is a fresh style and a better structure. What remix has is crazy sounds and energy. Both of these beatboxers are wildly technical, maybe a slight edge to Osis on technicality too.

as a casual listener i also think osis should have won, his second round was one of those rounds that was pretty much complete (tho you can definitely say remix's drops hit harder, but imo such crazy drops dont always make the track better or complete), also osis's style in general is very unique to me, both dense and complex, at the same time sounding good throughout his rounds. at last, we obv cant say it wasnt close (i mean this analysis is 30+ mins which totaly make sense). thats it for my casual listener yapping.

Yes, pausing breaks the flow and it can be uncomfortable if you're not the one controlling it. I think Remix reached that point where he doesn't need to improve his beatboxing skill but his music skill. He should not cling to the typical beatbox pattern (intro->build up->drop->bridge>second drop, and some line before the drop), he should think of creating a beatbox track more like creating a music track. I'm sorry if this sounds a little harsh, Remix is an amazing person and an amazing beatboxer. My comment here basically also applies to all others, be original and don't stick to the same pattern as everyone else

I totally love Remix and Osis! They both are so awesome! In Live Music, there are the two sides. The Show & the Music. Complexity, originality, and "artistry" fall under Music. Power, Energy, and "vibe" are Show. Both are needed to be a top tier artist. It's not just one or the other. "Show" wins over non musicians, "Music" wins over musicians. Hope this input makes sense.
