Liverpool is the team that saved his sorry ass career when he was in Italy. Nobody wanted him. The system is designed to make our forwards shine that's why he can't do it for Egypt. It works both ways. He was there for a season and we won nothing until we bought van dik and fabinho... The people in the team work their ass off for those forwards to shine. Van dik deserves the Same contract if not more then. So does trent who is younger and one of the best right backs in the world. Then gravenberch who is arguably the best midfielder in the world will demand the same soon or teams like Madrid will be lurking. Liverpool has put that man on the map. I would barely consider him even close to being a legend. So Carragher should know his place. So when players are younger, you want to limit what the player earn. @@hendersongalbreath1072 I sure don't hear enough praise for FSG, for the way they brought Klopp in, for the way they inctrduced more scientific methods of measuring player performance and for their financial discipline.I'm old enough to remember the glory days of the 70's and 80's and the following long, long years in the wiilderness of mid table performance with the occasional trophy. Maybe most of all I remember the stinging insult offered by a United fan that we were now just a 'mid table feeder club'. Klopp fixed that with pure passion for football - and that's why we will always love him. But he was supported by the owners and the people they appointed, which we also tend to forget. Look at us now - relaunched to the top by Klopp and FSG and now guided by Slot and FSG. For a while, when money ruled every aspect of the prem, I didn't think we could ever catch City and United, because we would never have the cash. THAT is the enormity of FSG and Klop's achievement and i will never forget it. Anyway, love the magnificent Mohammed Salah. but he is 32 and we can expect a rapid fall off in performance at any time so no matter how great he is, his future represents risk and FSG are right to consider that seriously. Remember when we moved Steve McMahon on? There was a lot of disbelief, but soon after I saw him playing and a commentator said "I can't believe how much McMahon has slowed down - Liverpool must have seen that in training and decided to get rid". He was 30, and a midfield powerhouse. We'd bought him fpr 350k in 85 and sold him in 91 for 900k when he was past his peak. THAT is the sort of info FSG will and must use. THAT is professional ownership and decision-making, uncluded by emotion for the good of the club.

He could go to SA for megabucks but he's not interested, unless we don't show interest before the end of the season. We do have time still. FSG must be looking into how well Salah can be for the next few seasons, they should think about a 3 yr deal for him, and VvD, and probably after that, let them go. But they want superior dividends on those contracts, like the title AND the CL, or even the title and both domestic competition cups. Both players look as if they can run another three seasons, but from an economical standpoint, FSG are procrastinating. They may well be waiting until March to offer.

Even John W Henry himself said as an excuse that Baseball players are expensive, well of course they are, have you heard of the expression you get what you pay for, if you are cheap, expect nothing, if you pay quality, you get quality. People are talking like the players go into negotiations! The agents are not being called out here. If you know your client wants to stay then that should be the starting point. I am really disappointed in Salah going to the media too. Remember, the club is more important than 1 or 2 players. FSG is thinking about the future. I think Salah wants a 3 yr contract and more $. Virgil and Trent will want more money too and I think Trent and Virgil are more important. FSG is seeing what is happening to MC, aging players on high salary, Kevin DE Bruyne is a great example, and don't want that to happen to Liverpool. FSG are being smart about it and I would de the same. FSG has a budget. Salah will be 33 next year and expect only 1 more yr to operate at that level, if he does not experience injuries.

If you truly believe Trent is more important to us than Salah you don’t know ball. Don’t get me wrong I love Trent but Salah has been involved in nearly 60%+ of our goals since he came and he’s continuing to operate like that.

Contracts is about the future. Don't assume Salah will operate on the same level when his older and if injured, will take more time to heal. Again, Father Age will catch up with Salah, I can only hope 1 more yr at this level, but not in 2026 and FSG will use that money for younger players. Virgil best defender In PL and having great forwards win games but having a strong defense win titles.

FSG is thinking about future according to you, FSG bought the club for 300 million dollars and they are trying to sell it for 4 billion dollars. They tried in last 2 years but the Rich guys in Middle East did not want to pay 4 billion dollars. They offered two and a half billion dollars and FSG refused. This is what future thinking of businessmen looks like.

Liverpool FC is more important than Salah FC !! Mane left, as did Coutinho, Firmino, Suarez and Gerrard... Liverpool replaced them all and flourished. ❤❤

Maybe Salah needs to show a bit more respect and remember he is were he is now because of LFC

He could’ve left us for Madrid at his peak but chose us. That goes both ways

Salah should keep his mouth shut and sign . Getting well paid.

Salah needs to be at a club that meets his expectations and winning mentality. So him moving to city wouldn't be judas because atleast they meeting his expectations. He'll get paid at market value and he can win and beat a few more goal scoring records
