Appreciate you are listening to timeless greatness. Paul Simon's writing and Art Garfunkel's perfect voice have no equal. Bridge over troubled water is but one of their masterpieces

You really had to live in the 1960’s to appreciate this music……..

This was there last great song. The song that made them was "The Sounds of Silence" (the original) in 1965. Other great songs by them were "The Boxer", "Homeward Bound", "I am A Rock" and many more. They did a love song that is one of the best, "Kathy's Song", because of it's heart felt sincerity.

That one's in a row with outstanding songs of the sixties. 'Nights In White Satin' (Moody Blues), 'A Whiter Shade Of Pale' (Procul Harum), 'Unchained Melody' (Righteous Brothers), 'The Sun Aint Gonna Shine Anymore' (Walker Brothers), 'To Love Somebody' (Bee Gees) or 'Eloise' (Barry Ryan).

You asked who wrote this, it was written by Paul Simon, sung primarily by Art Garfunkel, with Paul doing the harmonies. The live version, if it is the one I'm familiar with, is good but not as good as this studio version, live is missing the harmonies.
