This song is fantastic. Solange is really into architecture, she makes sure she shows her love for shapes and forms in her visuals. She's got really good eyes and ears.

This is considered alternative r&b. She walks a line between this and neo soul. They both contain a measure of jazz influences.

There's an effortless softness and elegance about Solange that I've always admired. It's reflected in her vocal tone, her fashion sense and simply how she carries herself.

I'm so happy you guys reacted to this. I love this song and this whole album so much. I have been a huge fan of Solange for many years and it makes me so happy that she is getting her flowers. Quite a few of Beyonce's songs are actually written or co-written by Solange as well. She is a very talented song-writer and producer and she is very creative as well and a fashion icon. I love that she is just herself and has forged her own path based on her own talent and creativity, she doesn't try to be her sister and I appreciate that. She recently composed the score for the New York City Ballet making her the first black woman in history to compose music for the NYC Ballet. A huge and well deserved achievement. Thank you guys for the wonderful reaction. I hope you do more of Solange's music in the future.

Solange is Sololange. The only thing she has in common with Bey is that they are both creative. Solange has conducted orchestras, has a housewares line, does sculptures, etc. She is an artist. She also filled in for Kelly during the DC era and has some movie credits on her resume.

We love Solange!!! Technically, this is not the first time you two are hearing her music. She wrote "Why Don't You Love Me?" from Beyonce's 4 album. She has also written for Destiny's Child and Kelly Rowland, another Destiny's Child band member. Also, Nathan enjoyed the live halftime performance of "YaYa" from Cowboy Carter. He would definitely enjoy Solange's second album, released in 2008, "Sol-Angel and the Hadley St. Dreams." A lot of live instrumentation and throwback to 60s and 70s funk and rock 'n' roll. In fact, in the first song on the album, "God Given Name," Solange addresses the comparisons to Beyonce.

Since Solange's second album she's always been in touch with her artsy side. Her first album was kinda typical "young artist contemporary R&B" but everything else including this has been really perplex art, like this. Really loved her most recent album. She is also an amazing song writer.

I’m glad you guys took the time to explore this song and Solange. But I really wish you would do a deep dive into her and her career. She is actually very successful in what she does. A lot in the arts not only singing, she’s written songs for her sister and Destiny’s Child, but also visual arts as well. Solange is Amazing and I really hate that people constantly try to compare her to her sister because they are very different artist and very good at what they do individually.

She actually won her first Grammy with this song. The album A Seat at the Table is easily one of the best projects of its time. Solange is unapologetically herself. She’s always been artistic and creative, with a career spanning years-this album showcases some of her newer work. As, Beyonce fan we can always tell when Solange help write a Beyonce song like "Why Don't You Love Me" or help with the creativity/Artistic look in her music video.

Solange has a very interesting musical journey. She's always wanted to shine on her own and has taken a harder path. Her father tried to put her in destinys child numerous times. Her solo debut she went against the norms of the time and was essentially commercially unsuccessful.

They tried to turn Solange into Beyonce 2.0 . Her father wanted her to join Destiny's Child when they had that shakeup in the lineup 2000 and later he wanted her to join the Disney girl group, Cheetah Girls, and Solange kept refusing to follow the plan for her career. She's a true independent spirit.
