The best thing about Taemin is that he really started a movement in K-pop. His androgynous looks weren't always in his favour and back then he said how he always wanted to be as manly as the others but now he embraces it. He says how dancing isn't about gender and how he wants to show that there shouldn't be any differences between girl idol and male idol's dancing. Most of the time he uses female back-up dancers and it wasn't that common yet that your female back-ups have the same spotlight as the male idol in the center, they usually were just a bonus but in Taemin's performances they're a part of the whole performance and it wouldn't work as well without them. Even during his concerts there are sections where only the female dancers are on the stage and dance without him as a transition. Recently Taemin also talked about wearing make-up a lot this was what he said: "For me, I think there is no absolute standard on masculinity. Nowadays, there are a lot of men who care about skin care and even use makeup to express themselves. I feel like there was a strict gender classification in the past, but the boundaries have become more blurred and our society is more about accepting and respecting each other’s differences these days. If makeup highlights and empowers my unique appeal, why not use it?" You should check out his song "Pretty Boy" with the lyrics, that was his collab with Kai and he chose him because Taemin wanted his best friend to be part of his solo debut album. Pretty Boy was written by Jonghyun and he said he thought about Taemin while writing it, it touches upon the expectations towards males in south korea and in general and it really fits Taemin well.

Taemin's duality is something else. FYI all of his female dancers are older than him so he calls them "noona" and after this live performance, one of them posted a screenshot of it on their IG story saying "Our Taeminnie looks so beautiful" lol He's really close to his dancers cos he loves working in a group (and i think that's why he's so excited about SuperM)

A little trivia: Taemin was the first SM artist to debut solo (and at the same time still promote with his group) and also known as SM's ACE. It is also the title of his first solo album. Taemin was always made to dress like a girl when he was a rookie and that was the reason he wanted to look manlier before. I think he realized it was a gift and went along with it eventually. He started these kinds of androgynous choreography where he says he wants to show there shouldn't be any distinction on moves that a male or female be able to dance to. His duality is a very known fact too. He's very shy when not performing. He's also thirsty for male fans! Lol be careful though, once you TAEM-in, you can't TAEM-out

Honestly, this is me any time Taemin releases new content. This is also why Taeyong said he was "a bit immoral." The Duality is real. He can perform a song shirtless, and then hide his body in embarrassment as soon as he's backstage. I'm half hard stan and half soft stan. There is no escape with Taemin. The look and feel for "Move" is very specific, its supposed to be androgynous and gender neutral. Early in his career when Taemin was growing up in SHINee he was often dressed up and made to look girly. People thought it was novel and cute to make him play a girl. (And if you have ever seen him dressed as a girl, you would see why. He could really pass as a girl, especially when he was younger.) It took him a long time to accept the fact that he was known for his looks and the fact that everyone thought of him as a "pretty boy," etc. So, at this point in his career as a 24 year old he was trying to make a statement about how he has now come to terms with just being himself and not caring what people think. Dancing is art and movement has no gender. The blue color is supposed to represent the cool chill vibe of the song, but you also should know that SHINee's fan color is aqua blue/green, so you will see a lot of blue/tea/green shades in the things the members of SHINee do. The female dancer who is dancing with Taemin in "Movie" is a famous choreographer. She is the one that choreographed the MV. Her name is Sugawara Koharu and she is a very famous Japanese choreographer who has choreographed dances for several Kpop groups, as well as American artists. She has worked with Taemin a lot over the years and she is the one that also choreographed Taemin's dance for his songs "Want" "Flame of Love" and "Sayonara Hitori" and helped choreograph their performance on the competition program Hit the Stage -- "Devil" performance, etc. Taemin and Sugawara are really good friends. She was also the choreographer for SHINee's song "Good Evening." and she choreographed the dance for Girls Generation's song "Love&Girls" among others. She loves working with Taemin because his dance style and personality is very similar to her's so they mesh really well together, and that is one of the reasons why she has been featured in several of Taeimin's projects. Plus Taemin and all the members of SHINee speak fluent Japanese, so they have no problem communicating through dance or language. :D Taemin is the youngest member of SHINee (pronounced like Shiny, as in shiny stars or shiny diamonds) who are another of SM Entertainments legendary groups. SHINee debuted in 2008 when Taemin was 14 years old and from day one Taemin has rightfully earned the nickname as the Korean Micheal Jackson. He is considered one of THE BEST dancers in the industry -- no one can do what he does. SHINee are a 5 member boy group who are known for their vocals and their amazing dancing. Micheal Jackson has been one of Taemin's idols since he was a little boy. Believe me, it is not lost on him, SM or, least of all, fans, that he dances like Micheal Jackson. That's why he is considered one of the top dancers in the industry and why he he is a member of SuperM. There are several clips of multiple performances where Taemin and SHINee have performed tribute dances and performances and danced to Micheal Jackson songs. Jonghyun, the main vocalist of SHINee, was known for the fact that he could sing like Micheal Jackson and Taemin is known for his ability to dance like him. Micheal Jackson is really popular in Korea and there have been several programs and special stages over the years that have paid tribute to MJ where numerous Kpop groups have collaborated to perform Micheal Jackson songs and dances. Taemin status as one of THE BEST dancers in the industry isn't just a title given by fans, but by everyone in the industry, both young and old. Now after 11 years in the industry he is still one of the youngest in most Kpop circles, and yet he often has the most seniority and experience. He is is so well respected that everyone looks up to him. Taemin's dancing is unlike any other, and you will soon discover with the more that you watch from SHINee and Taemin's solo work that he has only gotten more magnificent over the years. Taemin truly is art when it comes to his performances. As you probably already know, Kai from EXO, and Taemin are best friends. Taemin and Kai's personalities are almost identical. That is why they are best friends. When on stage they both can turn their fierce, sexy, sensual side up to 3000 and they become the most powerful and magnificent performers that command the stage. But the minute they step off the stage they become quiet and shy and they blush when people compliment them for their looks or performance. They are the youngest/ almost youngest members in their groups. Taemin in particular is known for being sort of innocent and kind of naive and a little ditsy as only the makenae of a group can get away with -- he is 2 to 4 years younger than the rest of the SHINee members and he plays up being the baby when he is around them and they pretty much will do anything he asks. He knows how to be cute when he wants something, but he hates it when someone asks him to be cute. LOL. Taemin and Kai also were in the same trainee program together and went to school together after they joined SM. Kai and Taemin became trainees when they were around 12 years old. However, Taemin debuted about 4 years before Kai. So even though they are friends from the same generation, Taemin is considered Kai's senior. Kai and Taemin are so much alike in looks, same age group, dancing skills, background, family dynamics,. personality, etc. that they are often known as twins -- they even have some of the same nicknames. (You really should see some of their pictures together when they were younger you would be surprised how much they look alike.) As someone that has stanned and biased Taemin in shinee and as a solo artist for so many years, he has never disappointed me artistically. He’s like this on stage but such a soft babie when he’s not performing. His music is amazing, he’s so pretty and he’s amazingly talented. He’s referred to as the Korean Michael Jackson and he presents both masculine and feminine movements and is so diverse artistically. I love Famous! Also, Ten is just amazing but he doesn't have the same charisma as Taemin and he's not quite as graceful. I hope he will develop! YAYYYY FINALLY IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS I COULDNT WAIT UNTIL AFTER I WATCHED THE VIDEO TO COMMENT 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺 Okay now that i finished it, imma repeat myself from the previous videos, he in his early adolescence was always seen as feminine and tried to reject that part of his body for the longest of time and danced quite manly. This choreography was made specifically for him and it was him accepting his androgynous body. The women, if you focus on them, look more manly and macho in the song while taemin looks more feminine. It really is a gorgeous choreo. And you are right, even tho it looks minimal, the moves actually require immense amount of muscle control. At 12:45 the woman he’s with is the one who choreographed this. She is amazing. There is a version of this song as a “duo” with just the two of them. And there is the iconic performance of Taemin and Queen Sunmi doing this song together and all the idols’ shook faces are hilarious. (They also did Sunmi’s Gashina, which was also a viral choreo, together as well) anyways im glad you finally watched this iconic song. He really is the highest regarded dancer for a reason 😇

Our Taeminie is the full package, I believe the only thing he is not the best at is rap. US fans are so lucky to be able to see this iconic man live in concert now! But, I'm sure many of us are still hoping he will get a solo tour in the US and Europe. You need to do Danger (MV from his solo debut mini album), Drip Drop (dance-centric), and Sexuality (no words are needed)! However, if I had to narrow it down, I say skipping Danger would be a crime. It shows you where he came from. As a Taemint, I demand this! Lol. Just kidding, although it really would be appreciated. The fact that you skipped his solo debut is triggering me. Personally, I find Want better than Thirsty by a long shot but to each their own. If you watch Taemin, you also need to watch a performance video- I highly suggest the one for Famous. yes!!! the aesthetics in all his MVs are to die for honestly like as far as artists go, he's probably my fave in that regard. Sayonara Hitori and Flame of Love are Japanese MVs but if you ever get a chance to check them out they are soooo visually pleasing. and it does help that he's also very attractive as well ;D the first time i saw Move was the first time i was fully introduced to him and i was like "oh no. oh NO" 😂

Omg omg omg yesssss I’ve been waiting for this omg I’m so happy 😭😭😭 I love this I think this is the most relatable reaction I’ve ever seen ❤️ And maybe you would want some info. So Taemin has always been told that he was really feminine so this dance is kind of him accepting it and this choreography idk if you noticed but when girls dance to it it looks kinda masculine but when guys dance to it it looks feminine so he kinda mixed both roles in dancing like the male and female roles and he thinks that there shouldn’t be roles in dancing he thinks that people should just dance to like express their selves. And I’m really sorry if I missed something up or if you don’t understand cause English isn’t actually my first language ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Taemin’s gaze can shatter souls it’s so intense when he’s preforming. Edit: Taemin is known as the best dancer in the industry, praised and idolized by MANY other phenomenal Kpop dancers. (Rocky or Astro, Kai, Ten of NCT, etc..) He’s labeled as the “Korean Micheal Jackson”. He truly is the best dancer of his generation. Also, I recommend you react to Ten next because he’s truly phenomenal as well. Taemin praises Ten for his dance and vocal skill. Ten has two solos, Dream in a Dream and New Heroes that I really recommend you check out! And if you want to see his dancing react to the dance practices for them too!

Subtle and powerful, that’s Taemin alright. Taemin is amazing, he’s stage presence is like no other. I love your reaction, I looked pretty much the same when I saw this dance and MV for the first time. If you want to see the most beautiful dance from Taemin imho, watch Flame of Love dance version. You need to be careful, it’s Japanese release, so you’d probably need to edit it a little bit, but that dance is art, there’s no other word for it.
