“ Minilik tikur sew” means “Minilik that Black man!” He wrote the song in admiring early Ethiopia’s king (Minilik) who fought war with European colonizers and made them run away 😁

Tikur sew means Black man. Teddy is gigantic for his socio-political and historical significant musics. He is singing about an ethiopian king named minilik who succesfuly routed and defeated an european colonial (italy) army at the battle of adwa. There is a phrase in the song that i like that says "... i wouldn't be myself now if i didn't answer your (the king's) calling back then...". He is simply a freedom singer in ethiopia and highly regarded. The country has gone and is still going through several proxy interventions and direct intimidation by foreign powers and standing firm so far. People are passionate about freedom Cheers
