Sembere literaly means "my scar" He is paradoxicaly singing about the struggle and (pschological & physical) hardship that one has to endure in an effort to bring about political emancipation and justice from what was a brutal autocratic rule. He sings about the way the struggle has exhausted his proclaimed courage, tested his free will and eventualy had him limping as a man of principles. He was imprisoned during the height of his career for openly opposing political repression in his musics. Btw that same regime (backed by the west) was removed some three years ago and we are still in tragic transition thanks to foreign interventions. He is a big fan of Bob and has a couple of musics dedicated to him directly and ras tefarrians at large. This one is an indoor concert, the meskel square (open air) one is even much bigger and awesome. Thank you for acknowledging me and loved your beautiful reaction.
