Awesome reaction ya ! When I was 6 years old my parents went out for dinner and got me and my little brother a babysitter. She was in High School and lived up the street. Blonde and tight jeans (my young mind....)My Dad had a kick-ass Sansui stereo system, super loud and big 15" woofers in the speakers. Janice invited her whole 12th Grade Class and turned our finished basement into a disco dance party ! It was so awesome. Janice had me and my brother dancing with all her girlfriends and flicking the lights on and off. The 70's were the best y'all. My parents came home and didn't even mind. My Dad even gave a few of the guys a cigarette and talked about sports. Mom just went to bed haha. Saturday Night Fever was the vinyl they were pumping on my Dad's system. Awesome....

They were born and spent their early childhood in England....they emigrated to Australia for about 8 years, before coming back home to England. Eventually, they got the call from America to trial their music for a movie called "Saturday Night Fever"....the tag "King's of Disco" was born! Barry and Maurice stayed in America, whilst Robin loved being at home in England and lived in Oxfordshire until he sadly passed in 2012. Now you've entered in to their disco phase, try "Night Fever" it was the song that put the Bee Gees on the map, the rest is history.
@Carn_Is_DoneАй бұрын
There was a weird time in the early 80s when people were supposedly so tired of disco that radio stations would advertise "Bee Gee Free Weekends" as if the Bee Gees were to 'blame' and it hurt their careers. Thankfully their superb songwriting skills meant they sat in the background a bit writing hit songs for other artists til they themselves returned with a different sound in the late 80s too. I never seen so much hate against one style of music in that way. It was so weird. And besides, disco music is FUN!

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL that's just adorable No one who knows anything says disco started in the late 70's. TSOP charted in 1974 and no one even calls THAT the start of disco, though it is widely regarded as the first disco "hit". Disco culture and music was born in the gay, black, and Hispanic underground of NYC in the late 60s and early 70s with illegal (since men could still get arrested for just dancing together) basement clubs and parties embracing and experimenting with advancements in hi-fi equipment, turntables, and mixers to insure the funky, spicy, and soulful beats continued non-stop over the Your West End / Picadilly / Soho discotheques playing whatever the Top of the Pops told the club owners was hot with breaks between the songs was not "Disco".

Speedway promoter and driver Bill Goode, who had hired the brothers to entertain the crowd at the Redcliffe Speedway in 1960, introduced them to Brisbane radio-presenter jockey Bill Gates. The crowd at the speedway would throw money onto the track for the boys, who generally performed during the interval of meetings (usually on the back of a truck that drove around the track) and, in a deal with Goode, any money they collected from the crowd they were allowed to keep. Gates named the group the "BGs" (later changed to "Bee Gees") after his, Goode's and Barry Gibb's initials. The name was not specifically a reference to "Brothers Gibb", despite popular belief

No bad songs. Brothers Gibb. From England, spent 12 years in Australia when their dad moved there for work. Went back to England to launch their career on a large scale. Wrote and recorded 1000s of songs beginning as kids in the late 1950s and continued up until 2004 when brother Maurice (Morris) passed away suddenly. Unbelievable catalog. Great lyricists too. You need to explore all the decades of their music. They could play any style. It's even fun to check them out as kids (KZbin as a few examples in black and white of them singing together very young, and they already had it even back then). Once in a lifetime talent.
