Very fair. I would still recommend watching/listening to it, not as a reaction video, but more like a background noise. Because it is still very entertaining the way he presents the story and lore of the characters. Much more worth it than other lore videos that have come out so far. But there was a certain channel did a reaction of the video by splitting it up for 2 games each. Maybe you can just do it one main game per video. It’s ultimately up to you, and I hope you enjoy the world and gameplay of Tekken ❤️🔥

It's fine, really, Tekken's story doesn't matter anyway. Nothing in it really matters or acts as a proper lead in for the next one. It's all just made out as it goes with little regard for even attempting to tell a good story.

THE CACKLE I LET OUT WHEN I SAW THIS LMFAOOOO 22:28 literally yes, all this is heihachi’s fault and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise The only thing you really need to know for Tekken 8 is Heihachi’s the worst, Kazuya and Lars are his bio sons, Lee is adopted son, Kuma (the bear) is his favorite son, and Jin is Kazuya’s son. The whole thing with Jin starting WW3 is a major point of contention in the fandom, because Jin was always presented as being the protagonist and Jun’s influence was supposedly enough to make him better than his father. He was broody, sure, but overall was still a anime hero until suddenly he’s starting a war and killing millions. It was such a hard turn and in reality it was done because the writers (for some reason) wanted to introduce Lars as the new protagonist and needed to justify it, so Jin got done dirty. People weren’t happy with this so they backtracked on it immediately lmfao How fans feel about this seems to depend a lot on when people came into the series. People who got into the series around 5 and 6 hate Jin and are mad the series is working to redeem him, fans from 4 or older tend to like Jin and feel like he should never have been made ~evil~ in the first place and so this is how it should’ve been anyway. People who started with 7 have no strong opinion because Jin was unconscious that entire game. Other important relationships relevant to T8: Hwaorang is Jin’s frenemy rival, Xiaoyu is Jin’s love interest and she’s been trying to find him for years. When you play T8, even if you don’t play through them all, you need to check out the character episode endings. They are so funny. ALSO hot guy with the glass is Miguel, he’s not in 8. His sister was killed in the war so he’s out to murder Jin.

17:46 so to answer you’re question basically during the events of tekken 5 Jin was having nightmares of a being calling to him that being Azael he learns when human conflict and chaos reaches its peak it will cause his eventual awakening and destroy the world and only someone with the devil gene can defeat it, with that in mind Jin was concerned of the possibility of azazel awakening after him or kazuya are long gone, so he started ww3 causing the world to go in chaos and conflict to speed up it’s awaking so he can destroy it Jin also believed that if azazel was destroyed it would also free him from the devil gene

All i know is kazuias fasther was an ok guy till his wife tryed to kill him cus she had devil dna or whatever. Then after killing his mom kazuias dad became paranoid and tested kazuia for deamon bolld by trowing him down a cliff. Safe to say kazuia had daddy issues after that and after that kazuia had a kid called jin (Lord knows hiw he got a wife tho, must be his sneaker collection). And ya kazuia was not father of the year so he abandoned jin and his mom and went on his (( I need more power and ill rule the world arc). Correct me if im wrong tho this is just my understanding on it.

Blazblue: Allow me to introduce ourselves. no joke, blazblue have the most convoluted story for a fighting game series, Tekken is understandable as Metal gear Solid.

But here are the plot as far i understand it, MOSTLY focused on Mishima side: Pre-Tekken 1: Heihachi kills Kazumi because Kazumi wants to kill Heihachi. Kazuya learned about this and angry about it, causing his deep hatred against Heihachi. Heihachi is so paranoid about the Devil gene in Kazumi, he threw Kazuya off a cliff. Tekken 1: Kazuya survived, and basically enters the TEKKEN tournament to have revenge, he managed to beat every single opponents including Heihachi, thus he threw Heihachi off the cliff. Tekken 2: Heihachi survived and he's basically the protagonist of this entry, Kazuya gone mad with power after taking over Mishima Zaibatsu. But before fighting Heihachi, Kazuya met Jun and SOMEHOW had her pregnant. Heihachi wins the tournament and throws off Kazuya into volcano, JUST to make sure he stays dead. Tekken 3: biggest time jump and before the tournament starts, Orge attacks several fighters and unfortunately Jun is one of the victim of the attack. Jin, Jun and Kazuya's son was taken by Heihachi to be trained and then enters Tekken tournament. He didn't win the tournament but Paul Phoenix did and take the credit, Jin just defeated True Orge. After beating True Orge, Jin was shot by Heihachi, again being paranoid about the devil gene, but what he did ended up awaken Jin's devil gene and knocked out by him. Tekken 4: Jin after learning about Heihachi basically resents him and unlearns the fighting style he have from Tekken 3. Kazuya's body was recovered and experimented by G Corp, thus why he is back. Heihachi found out about this and creates another tournament to lure both Jin and Kazuya. Jin basically got captured by heihachi and chained up for Kazuya to see. Kazuya wants to get Jin's devil power, but then Jin awakens his devil gene and managed to escape, leading to the opening of Tekken 5. Tekken 5: Heihachi and Kazuya were assaulted by bunch of Jack robots. But only Kazuya managed to escape and left Heihachi to die. Also at the same time, Jinpachi Mishima's corpse were possessed by evil spirit. Using the last of his consciousness, Jinpachi declares the fifth tekken tournament to find a fighter that could finally end him. Canonically Jin won but never met Kazuya, Heihachi apparently flung away and landed in somewhere and survived. After Jin won, he took over the Mishima Zaibatsu and then. Tekken 6: Jin starts World War 3. All of this just to bait Azazel, who he thought to be the source of the Devil Gene. Meanwhile Lars Alexandersson leads a rebel army against Jin, and in the process he met Alisa Bosconovitch, an android created by Dr. Bosconovich for Jin. During the campaign, Lars found out he is the bastard son of Heihachi. Alisa betrays Lars due to her programming but managed to resist it due to her genuine feelings for Lars, ended up becoming couple with Lars. Jin managed to bait Azazel out and he beats them. But not really because Zafina sealed Azazel into her arm. Kazuya is in the game leading G Corp (after basically became the CEO) to fight Jin's Mishima Zaibatsu but he doesn't have much role. Tekken 7: With Jin's gone, Mishima Zaibatsu were taken over by Heihachi. And Akuma from street fighter somehow made a promise with Kazumi before her death, to kill Heihachi. Akuma of course failed to kill Heihachi, but then tries to kill Kazuya, also failed. But when Kazuya and Akuma fought, Heihachi sends out a laser beam from space to eliminate both Kazuya and Akuma. He also exposed Kazuya's devil side for the world to see. Kazuya and Akuma survives, and Kazuya basically agreed to meet Heihachi in volcano to settle it once and for all, ending with Kazuya winning, killing Heihachi "for good." (Yes. I saw the recent EVO announcement.) so thats tekken plot that are relevant to know before playing Tekken 8. But here are several characters with stories that might be important to plot: Paul Phoenix: He wants to be the STRONGEST man in the Universe. And he is not joking, in Tekken 1 he almost beat Kazuya. In Tekken 2, he was disqualified because he was late to the tournament. But at least he won the 3rd Tekken tournament, but he became too drunk with fame. After Tekken 4 he goes back to his old ways. Marshall Law(T1-2/4-8): Paul's best friend who owns a restaurant, but he often in debt. He enters the tournament to save his restaurant (or pay for his son's medical bills after a bike accident.) Lee Chaolan: Heihachi's adopted son, he's there basically to piss Kazuya off. In both games, he was beaten by both Kazuya and Heihachi, causing resentment against them. But by Tekken 3 and 4, he basically said "Nah, not worth it." And ends up making Violet Systems, one of the tech giants in Tekken world, basically have nothing to do with the Mishima blood feud. Tho he do backed up Lars and the others because he genuinely wants to help in Tekken 6-8. Ling Xiaoyu and Panda: Xiaoyu is a young kid in Tekken 3, she managed to infiltrate a cruise ship which filled with Heihachi's goons and managed to beat them all singlehandedly. This impressed Heihachi so much, he basically give Xiaoyu a free scholarship and a Panda as her bodyguard. While attending the school, she became Jin's love interest, and constantly looking for Jin in Tekken 4-7. In tekken 7 Xiaoyu was contacted by Claudio to help finding Jin, but with no results. Asuka Kazama: Jin's distant cousin. She seemingly have Jun's purifying powers but that never explored. Originally, she enters Tekken 5 tournament to find the guy (Feng) who beaten up her master and dojo. Now she just there to be rivals with Lili. Lili: Exist to become Asuka's rival. Hwoarang: Self proclaimed Jin's rival who managed to keep up with him even when Jin's in devil form. They basically have respect to each other. Zafina: A women from middle east who involved in tekken 6, seals Azazel after Jin beats him. Claudio: A priest from Italy who can shoot out magical arrows, originally wants to use Xiaoyu to find Jin and kill him. But Claudio have change of heart after seeing Xiaoyu's pure heart to save Jin, and ended up helping her and Jin. Leo: The androgynous fighter, their mother was a worker in Mishima Zaibatsu who taking care of Steve but she was killed. Leo tries to find the culprit and avenge their mother. Steve: A professional boxer who's actually born from Nina's gene, as part of experiment in Mishima Zaibatsu, hence the scarred arm he have. He tried to confront Nina at one point but Nina does not even acknowledge Steve as her son. Nina Williams: An assassin who likes Tom from Tom and Jerry. (Yeah its real from the manual) She's usually hired by the big bad of the entry (Jin in 6, Heihachi in 7, and Kazuya in 8) so don't be surprised if she changed sides again. But the reason why she's young unlike other fighters is because she was put into cyro sleep after Tekken 2. And at the same time, Steve was born from her. Anna Williams: An assassin who like Jerry from Tom and Jerry. She is Nina's sister and rival. She also had some cyro sleep after Tekken 2. Raven: part of a special force unit, sent by Victor to investigate in the tekken tournaments. King 1: The wrestler in Tekken 1-2, he participated to gain money for his orphanage. Dies in pre-Tekken 3 and replaced by his successor who was part of the orphanage. Armor King 1: King's rival. But trained King 2 after King 1's death in the hands of Orge. King 2: Trained under Armor King 1, he wants revenge against Orge but failed. But then after Tekken 3, Armor King was murdered by Marduk. He wants to kill Marduk but when he have the chance to, he refused to kill him. Ended up becoming best friends with Marduk. Craig Marduk: A wrestler who fall from grace after a scandal. He accidentally killed Armor King 1 and thrown to jail. However King 2 bailed him out from jail to beat Marduk up and kill him. As stated above, King eventually became friends with Marduk. Armor King 2: AK 1's brother. who wants revenge against Marduk. Kuma 1: Heihachi's real son. Died from old age and replaced by Kuma 2. Kuma 2: Heihachi's real son. Who's in love with Panda, but also angry at Paul for beating him up in some tournament. Hence his rivalry with Paul. So that's pretty much the relevant characters to the plot. Most of the characters like Yoshimitsu, Brian, Bruce, or even Mokujin feels like just there tbh, sorry for the fans. (i'm a Lei main)

You know how Yakuza simultaneously takes itself extremely seriously and unseriously at the same time? Yeah, Tekken honestly might take that to the next level except with much less dialogue and less adult themes lol. And it’s never really “touching” like Yakuza, although I’d say there’s definitely some people who will relate to and feel something about Tekken 8 and what the main character feels and what he says, although it was campy as hell I even read that some people cried during it. Also, Tekken 8 actually offers a few in-game videos itself that briefly explain the plots of the games in a more serious manner, they’re pretty short, maybe you can give them a watch when you try out the game. I believe the game asks you if you’d like to watch them, or they’re in the games “gallery” mode This video, whilst at least making the story sound fun and entertaining, I feel like he made it unnecessarily sound more ridiculous than it is by adding his own interpretation and exaggeration and fake stuff into his script. The story itself with no exaggeration is already super ridiculous, there was no need for him to overdo it with his explanations lol he could’ve just simply explained the story properly but briefly and he would’ve got the same “wtf” effect.

Hey Jessica, I’m a casual Tekken fan and I will say the lore is very confusing, even if you try to lol it up on a wiki. But even still it’s very like “So how does this all connect?” Oh and since you mention Tekken 8, there are a lot of trailers, as in character reveal trailers so I don’t know if those are the trailers you meant. And if you want to, this is my suggestion, you should react to all the Tekken characters because they really didn’t explain who each one of them.

Oh boy there's so much to unpack with the lore! But at least for the Mishima part, you already have the jist of it. Since I know you're going to play mainly for the story, I recommend keeping the Tekken wiki under the hood. Not regular Wikipedia, Tekken wiki. The editors have gone out of their way to complile everything thoroughly. Also, this video was fun but it was mostly memes and jokes. If you want a real deep dive into the story, I recommend checking out Gizou Gitai's retrospective Playlist. Tekken is actually pretty dark once you start to analyze it. I wish it was better written. But I still love it. Oh before I forget, it also has a six episode anime on Netflix called Tekken Bloodline. You can react to that on your other channel if you want or have time. Phew! I think that's all. Really looking forward to your other reaction video and the playthrough obviously. It's going to be so much fun!!!

Congrats on being a new mother! I'd say Tekken is probably my favourite fighting game of all time. In my opinion, Tekken rivals the Street Fighter series in having some of the best music (stage tracks) in all of fighting games. I don't know what music you're into, but I highly recommend listening to some of the music from the older games, especially Tekken 1-2 (nearly the same), T4, T5DR and my personal favourite Tekken Tag Tournament 1, all of which you can use/listen to in T8 stages.

It's fine, really, Tekken's story doesn't matter anyway. Nothing in it really matters or acts as a proper lead in for the next one. It's all just made out as it goes with little regard for even attempting to tell a good story.
