If I don’t get a basic piece through pre-order or early days on the website, then I think I’m will wash my hands of LV and be done buying. I have everything I need and this manufactured scarcity is offensive to me.

I was at the LV store yesterday (in Sweden) and my SA showed me the whole collection. I could preorder anything I wanted but I'm hesitating because of the price. I saw photos of the cherry blossom speedy 25 also and that looks amazing so I will wait to get that!

I got my Murakami fix two months ago on a great preloved white multicolor Alma. I want the speedy but if it’s sold out already then I just saved tons of money. Pre-orders are only open today to $100k VIP’s (I know because I already asked!). 😂😂😂

The only piece I still have from the original collection is a scarf I got in a round-about way that is in trashed condition (was trashed when I got it). I might work on it a bit more to try to resuscitate it, but it is kind of garbage, lol. Honestly, at my current stage of life I wouldn't carry a multicolor bag, but maybe a card case or other little accessory, perhaps a black multicolor twilly to use on a black bag. The collection thrilled me the first time around, I hope all the people discovering it for the first time have as much fun with it as I did back in the day.

I’m wondering if everything here in the USA is already sold out. I’ve heard multiple VICs in America claim that they have been able to pre-order for the last couple weeks. So many CAs here in America are staying hush today, which leads me to think there isn’t anything left😭… We shall see!

considering lv has done so many variations (game on, by the pool, tyler the creator, holiday vivienne, etc) of the monogram since the first release of the multicolor, i dont think chipping should be an issue anymore and they changed how they do screenprinting since then like how they also change how they did the miroir reissue

@ UK but ordered some directly from Paris. If you have any sales associate contacts in Paris you may be able to do the same but you’ll need to pick up your pieces in person. Otherwise your local store should be open for preorder but it’s not online

Thanks for sharing Jess! I really love so many pieces but I’m pretty sure there’s going to be a lot of sold out items. I wanted to stay under $4k USD. I really love the speedy with the flowers which would keep me in budget. If it’s all sold out I’ll be on the hunt for a pre loved vintage multi when I go to Tokyo this spring. Which may end up being more fun anyway.

Not a fan of the chipping issue, and I’m not an LV girlie, but I do love Murakami’s work. Some of the charms and scarves/twillies are pretty cute, but considering these styles can come in and out of fashion quickly… I’m OK with just admiring the look of them online, and buying non-LV Murakami merch to get my fix.

@kami_k7 Would work without a downside with a new product or one that wasn't nearly as sought-after as Murakami. At this level of demand it's creating a hot resale market, and some very unhappy would-be customers. It's the hottest buying season of the year, they would have been able to sell double , maybe triple as people also want to "pre-gift" promised pre-orders for the holidays. Likely won't be the same level of need in March? But yes, people will be talking about this popularity and FOMO and LV avoids becoming the Gucci or Burberry of 2025.
