During the Lexaeus fight, he faced backwards during the fires so when the animation ends and the keyblades spin behind Sora he got 2 extra hits from them.

@@personalover9514 That’s why TAS speedruns are a completely separate category. They are a measure of programming skill alongside knowledge of the game. They also help for teaching purposes. You can’t legally count a TAS against a regular speedrun for this exact reason. So doing one and correctly labelling it is not in any way cheating.

@@ntrg3248 yeah, I doubt that's possible... maybe if a game was running at 30 FPS, but this version runs at 60 FPS... i think it might be possible for someone to do 30 button presses in a second with some incredible reflexes, but definitely not 60. plus it's a matter of hitting multiple buttons that fast, not just one...

From what i understand, most TAS runs are done by slowing down the gameplay drastically which makes reactions lightning fast when played back at regular speed

Combination of save states/rewind, frame advancement/slo-mo, and various external aids like memory viewers that enable knowing things you shouldn't, but don't at all modify the game, one of the hopes of any great TAS is the possibility of being hardware verified, which gets harder as the console generations go on, both because accurate emulation is harder, and because there's more chaos effects that can induce desynchs, such as load times, but things like DwangoAC's TAS Bot can attempt playback of a TAS on hardware to do such a verification

Yeah, it depends on the optimization level. Like a Mario 64 TAS would be made frame-by-frame because of how much competition there is. Some take so long to make that they get obsolete because a time save is found. These are important though, in the big picture of things.

He turns sora around during the lexeaus firaga portion because he pauses to continue the combo without finishers. Final form sora's keyblades spin back behind him after firaga, which gives him exactly one tick of damage each pause

Some stuff I learned from competitive smash bros that you can apply to KH2: if you invalidate a single hitbox that stays out for a long period of time, say by guarding or reflect especially, that hitbox is completely nullified and no longer does damage to sora. This is great for those small bits of extra damage. Its especially useful against Data Larxene because her lightning counts as a single continuous hitbox. Thats how the reflect let him hit larxene while she had armor during the lightning.

For that Zexion fight, you can abuse Comet or Fantasia and keep opponents in an attack if you equip Berserk Charge and Horizontal Slash (as it also counts as a finisher).

Ik this is a year ago but, I noticed why the TAS runner spun Sora during Final Form. Like with items (as you mentioned) Sora's keyblades have hit registration during firagra casts. Its noticeable during Demnyx. As FF ends you see the keyblades hit animation as well as Demnyx taking dmg. It's not just for swag but, extra dmg.

7:40 isn't berserk what is keeping the stun? Since he's using fatal crest and he's keeping his MP empty, the attack command becomes berserker command, which comes out more fast and gives almost no gap to retaliate

Zexion was because of the frame perfect horizontal slashes it keeps him stun locked im pretty sure, if you dont time them right they will break out and DM. Mr Windy Lances can be locked with horizontals as well

He kept zexion staggered due to a property of horizontal slash that makes it if you hit it a certain number of frames after the last one it doesn't trigger their RV overflow.

A human is basically using special tools to go through the game in slow motion, frame by frame and specifically choice each and every input that happens on each and every frame of the game then they can basically replay all the inputs to make it play the game
