Whether it's fair or not, this sax solo, and the one from the live version floating around, are the standards I use to judge all other solos against. As a sax player myself, I always enjoy a thorough face-melting and will gladly come back for it time and again.

Yeah, you guys credit the band, but it’s really Yoko Kanno who wrote this whole amazing piece and put the band together to perform it for the show.

I mean thats a pretty normal sounding stand up bass 🤣, they just turned up the master volume for it a bit more than other jazz does

a lot of that attack comes from a classical guitar doubling the line. in the mix it just sounds like a whole lot of clatter and buzz, which fits perfectly lol.

You really should listen to that whole album. Yoko Kanno and the seatbelts wrote an amazing variety of music for the show that really crosses generas and is so fun to listen to

the series has the most amazing sound track - fills three albums for the one and only season. Probably the best anime series i have ever seen. The music was all written first, the titles of the episodes are all based on the music, glad Yoko Kanno has new fans..

@@galaxyjams i understand and why i included an apology as well as not commenting on any of the other inclusions/exclusions. I only bring up the Specials due to thier sound and over all influence on the genre. As a grognard i appreciate the time taken to spread new music to the young. At almist fifty i share a wide variety of music to my four year old. Nothing like her showing up and asking to hear some daddy music or request Skinny Puppy or Nightmares on Wax or Dead Kennedys... makes my heart patter

Rumor has it that the copy used here was a recorded rehearsal that they never got a chance to go back and do the "official" version.

Important about how the anime was created: First, the composer would compose a banging tune. Then the anime's creator team would build an episode AROUND the concept of that tune. You can tell. One of the greatest animes.

Not a show as such, but Lego's 'BIONICLE' theme had its own dedicated band, formed from Lego employees for making music for the commercials, for a few years. The band eventually went independent; they're called Cryoshell, and they still release new music occasionally. Their debut track was 'Creeping In My Soul': kzbin.info/www/bejne/bJ3JnpmundeUrac The band's KZbin: kzbin.info/door/93YEy3DiQ3VioDMcVTY3yg

The soundtrack was complete before the animation began. The show (not that live action abortion) was a cinematic phenomenon with action, comedy, and PAIN done masterfully with hand drawn art. For every pivotal moment in the show, maybe a minute at most, there's a full song. If you can find a copy of the full set, (including Future Blues, which never made it to screen) then I reccomend you go rob a bank and grab it. It's a journey.

You had a guest like this listen to a track like this, and you all talked over him and never let him say anything relevant besides an answer to if he liked it. Some viewers wanted the opinion of a grammy winner not a bunch of weeb fans. Constructive criticism here, let your guests be the star more- some people are here for them first.

While the song was playin it was like they were tryin hard to make the song seem amazing. "Woooooo!" "You're gonna like this ending." Just let the piece speak for itself... And your guest for that matter.
