They just wanted to keep kicking him down, they knew he will blow up the world if he fully returned. TOP recieved award for his acting, he was recognized. Why are they saying he can't act? The Korean media and Korean Netizen hated not only TOP but Bigbang as a whole from day one because they don't fit in that frame of "korean" a certain TV station would banned them and their music. But when they don't have enough rating, they invited Bigbang to go on one of their show. It wasn't easy for them. I understand why he doesn't want to come back. Too many toxic people. Let him be.

@@라멜-o8b "TOP, as a member of the greatest group in K-pop history, has repeatedly proven his talent, ability, and impact over the past 20 years. The criticisms about his acting mostly stem from preconceived notions and the habit of seeing him as a singer, rather than the actual quality of his performance. He’s a multifaceted artist, and anyone trying to confine him to a single role only reveals their own narrow perspective. Moreover, Big Bang and TOP’s domestic and international success clearly show that he doesn’t need the approval of critics. Judgments about him often reflect a lack of understanding or simple jealousy. Whether in acting or music, he continues to shine, and the support of his true fans around the world proves this. Instead of trying to bring him down, perhaps it’s better to focus on achieving your own success!"

how can you say we hate bigbang? Even now there is no idol who is more loved than GD. How can you say Korea hates BigBang? We really love bigbang. Just because of one criticism, doesn't mean we hate it. The acting is awkward and I think that's just a cultural difference. what TOP did in the past was wrong and he should apologize.

Weed is very illegal in Korea. It's unfortunate that it is looked down upon as worse than rapists and abusers (which there are multiple on the Squid Game cast). Add in the fact that Bigbang has always been overly criticized and scandalized in Korea, it is a sad situation. It has honestly made me hate Korea for how they have treated them since their early career. Back in 2023 they did a whole random witch hunt against GD with the most ridiculous drug claims, and then conveniently everyone went on vacation the moment the allegations came out. GD had to come out publicly and force the police to test his urine/hair otherwise they would have procrastinated until it was too late to get accurate urine drug tests. It was ridiculous. Bigbang has always been acutely targeted. It has made VIPs extremely protective of them.

We have more information now as TOP did a conference interview yesterday with 70-80 media news for the first time in 11 years. Long story short, TOP was described to be so nervous that a reporter mentioned that they felt bad with how nervous he was despite the reports trying to break ice, they said his lips and hands were trembling as he answered their questions (I mean, understandable considering how they kmedia/netz treated him) Bigbang wise, TOP mentioned not being in contact with the members and explained his his mass blocking as an action he did because he was hurt and in pain in seeing photos of "a family now separated", he left because he did not want his hate to be transferred to the band and to the other members, he mentioned that he felt guilt, and shame which is truly sad. Although he did mention about potentially releasing music this year as he has been in the studio for the past years during his hiatus creating music and wants to share it with the world. Overall, I hope he's happy and he takes it easy for his own health.

This interview really shows the difference between T.O.P and Seungri. T.O.P spent 7 years feeling guilty for something he couldn’t control, thinking he ruined BIGBANG, and even avoided contacting the members because of it. Meanwhile, Seungri is out partying at clubs, using BIGBANG and GD’s names, playing songs T.O.P wrote 💀, and showing zero shame for ACTUALLY ruining BIGBANG. He’s literally the reason T.O.P and GD had to take a 7-year break…

I'm Korean It's always so sad to see top hurt by the Korean media and the public. I think it deserves criticism because it is illegal in Korea to do drugs, but I think Korean netizens should support T.O.P. at least now because he has reflected on seven years. I hope he can act as much as he want and to see top happily perform music even in the U.S. later😢

In Korea, there is a culture that interferes with celebrities, especially. They get cursed at just for dating, smoking, and drinking. That's why celebrities (especially young idols) are seen as poor beings controlled by the Korean public. As K-pop's popularity grows rapidly, a young idol who is still a teenager at the same time seem to have become victims in kpop markets. (For example, children who have become idols because they want to do their own music are working according to the company's policy to suit the taste of the company) They become just a product. I want all Korean celebrities to be happy

Do you really think USA entertainment industry would treat him well??? They would NOT. They have treated Koreans, and Asians in general, awful for a very long time, and I can only hope that it will someday change, but it's been very, very, very slow up until even now.

@@mmmqua You're right, but if there's a time for him to do it, his best bet is now or soon since Squid Game S2 just released and his character is very popular. Asian artists have made it decent here in the US; Rosé has a #1 song, Jay Park signed with Jay Z's Roc Nation a few years back, and Kris Wu was on the rise as actor and musician(before he went to prison for SA). Point being, it might be hard, but not entirely impossible. Plus the US is starting to respect Asian actors and films a lot more now so he's got an advantage in acting.

@@trulu05 Cute outlook, and I'm sure it's good for you to be positive, but don't be unrealistic... Even look at how Hollywood treated LBH, and the lasting damage it has done to him. And music is probably even worse... Look at all the actual Korean-Americans that had to pursue a career in Korea because they couldn't be taken seriously in the US. And look at what Jay has done with Roc Nation since he was with them??? It was only useful for some connections and a few collabs, and not much else... Barely a smidgeon of what he just did on his own in Korea in the same time. Sure, they'll be a few accolades for something like Parasite once in a blue moon, or a nod on the charts to something like Apt. (collaborating with a western artist, btw), or BTS's mainstream English songs, but you really think America would be welcoming to T.O.P??? And you don't think that treatment would affect him even worse, considering all he has already went through? I'm a Korean, currently living in America, and can tell you 1,000%, just because you see a small segment of the population embracing Korean singers and actors, a huge chunk of America absolutely does NOT, and neither does their music and film industry.

Honestly, those haters are like CRABS. They pull down anyone who can be at the mud with them, just a bunch of losers who wants to see others failing as well (it reflects how their parents raised them). Really appreciate this reaction, I was honestly so mad on how they still targeting T.O.P knowing that they might be successful in pushing someone to death. There's a lot of celebrities who were pushed to death by these keyboard killers, they got special place in hell for sure sure.

Man F that noise! I'mma smoke TOP down right now. I will never care homeboy did some of that good green. I mean I get that it's illegal in SK, but I'm not down with the demonizing someone for weed over a sex offender or child abuser/killer. Miss me with the straight bull. That's my bias tho!

It doesn't matter where you smoke it... He could have smoked it in another country, it doesn't matter, it's still illegal for Korean citizens to do it, period. Personally, I am 100% on TOP's side, and totally disagree with how much they have put him through till this day, but that doesn't change the law. He just should never have been vilified as much as he was, beyond just dealing with his actual sentence of like probation and a fine for being a first time offender.

TOP WAS also in a coma for a couple of days. He even took the heat of drug dealer. Han Seo Hee she got a slap in the wrist was labeled as girl friend. She was not an actress. She was a former trainee, to be an idol. She was not very good. She pretty much took down YG entertainment along with other idols from other companies. The rest of the story is covered in this video was mostly accurate. Funny how the world embraced him. I did not like the first squid games. It was sort of boring to me. I watched the second one just for TOP. Guess what. I actually like the second season better with him breaking up the boring scenes. He has always been a great actor. I never knew about BIG BANG until I saw TOP in IRIS ,Commitment, 71 into the fire.and I am Sam. After that I looked him up. Found out that he was in a idol group. I love BIG BANG. TOP and Daesung are my favorite members.

“A criminal is appearing in it shamelessly.” Ah yes, all that shameful recreational marijuana usage. Meanwhile there are multiple Squid Game cast members with SA charges. I personally liked his performance. The character is supposed to be an annoying antagonist. I think he did well. And major props to him for taking on a role that so closely reflects on his personal struggles, especially since he must have known the backlash he would receive.
