Fun fact: the leader of the biker mutants is played by the guy who played Wez in The Road Warrior, Vernon Wells.

"Itn't that the guy from [Hills Have Eyes]?" Yup! Lotta good horror cred in the supporting cast. Max is in Elm Street 2, Hilly is in Friday 13th 4, and Deb is in a bunch (Return of the Living Dead 2, Killer Klowns From Outer Space, and more).

We talked about a lot of the cast members doing horror films from Anthony Michael Hall, Max, Hilly, Deb. 2 other people did Horror films. Bill Paxton was in the movie Near Dark and the guy who played Gary's father was in Silent Night, Deadly Night.

The band that is performing the theme song for this movie, is called, Oingo Boingo, and the lead singer is someone by the name of, Danny Elfman, who is most well-known now for doing the music for pretty much every Tim Burton film ever.

In the tv series Lisa was played by the appropriately named Vanessa Angel who was also in the 1996 movie Kingpin, with Woody Harrelson and Randy Quad. IMHO it was a decent show. 👍👍

1. Movie magic: Just before the first motorcycle hits the glass door the breakaway glass shatters before the hit. 2. My favorite character is Chet. The Late Bill Paxton KILLS😇 3. The guy in the bar that gave Gary his hat played Carl in, "The Breakfast Club". 4. Movie magic: More than just a cup full of ICEE fell on the guys. 5. "Toss off". How about "Spank the monkey"? 6. Hilly or Deb? Hilly😍😝😈 7. John Hughes also used the gym/school for, "Ferris Bueller's Day Off", "The Breakfast Club" and "Uncle Buck".

"Strawberry Hill" by Boone's Farm ... the cheapest buzz for a lightweight/beginner back in the day. (*LOL*) Also ... talkin' about being only 3 years old when this film came out... UGH, now I feel ancient (I was already a teenager ... about the same age as Gary & Wyatt in the film) and totally full of stupid ideas. The computer age was JUST beginning & everyone thought they were going to be these amazing "magic" devices and nobody had a clue what they could or could not ACTUALLY do. (Anyone seen "Electric Dreams"?) At any rate... the 80's were a special time. Funny how modern times are clinging to that era (even more so than the 70's clung to the nostalgia of the 1950's with the "Happy Days" tv-show and "Grease" at the movies & in-stage). Modern times is just hanging onto EVERYTHING to some degree ... I cant imagine what things will be like for the next generation and the one after that when SO much more stuff becomes pop-culturally relevant as all the nostalgic stuff will STILL stay in the zeitgeist

This may be a bit of an unpopular opinion, but I seriously never liked this movie that much. It's okay.. Barely.. I was primarily just starved for movies about science/computers.. and.. as an overweight nerdy/geeky boy in my early teens I was also- of course- enticed by the idea of there being some way for me to actually be able to get popular, and also actually "get a woman". From the 80s there are a lot of b-movies for nerds focusing on the problem with finding a romantic interest.. I find it a bit unfortunate that so many of them just ignore the issues of finding a romantic interest and just want to appeal to the fantasy of.. not having to bother too much.. If you like science you DO tend to prefer straight line problem solving, with as few steps as possible (problem -> solution).. I was a kid when this was came out, and in my early teens when I watched it.. and sure.. I liked it.. BUT!.. I also would like to say that this movie (and most others that I would call Nerdsploitation movies).. Are literally not for people who likes science.. I mean.. We watched them, because we liked the trope, but.. There is usually no actual science in them at all. Wargames, Weird science, Electric dreams, Revenge of the Nerds, etc.. They are comedies to people who like science. The ONE movie I kind of really loved is.. "Real Genius".. It BOTH actually took computing SERIOUSLY.. ~and~ actually portrayed a female lead (love interest) that was an actual.. human being, with flaws, and that wasn't just a ~target~ for sexual interest, but treated as a human being... ~and~ she scienced with the best of them... (Also: It has Val Kilmer; That is ~always~ a perk)..
