You’re the best! The brutality/beauty juxtaposition is also my favorite. No one does it better than Amity Affliction since 2012. The Gifthorse is a gorgeous paean to a Good friends suicide. All the lyrics on all the songs relate to Joel Birch’s clinical depression and how he overcomes everyday with love and understanding.

You 100% should just IMMERSE yourself in Biffy Clyro, man. They're like THE GREATEST BAND EVER to have come out of Scotland. Completely awesome throughout their whole career. This isn't even a tease of what Neil is capable of, you have SO MUCH to look forward to Mountains is a good place to start, but really there's just TOO MANY awesome tracks of theirs to try out. Machines, The Captain, Stingin' Belle, The Wolves of Winter, Many of Horror, Folding Stars, Scary Mary, Tiny Indoor Fireworks ... so so so so many ...
