@@Books_Anime_92 I love kids. Love my godson, love all my friends kids, I just love them so much! It's amazing to watch them grow and learn! But I have never and will never want to have children. Full stop, I don't want to be a mother. I just wish more people realized this about themselves before they had their own kids and ended up resenting them, thus being damaging to them. Not wanting to be a parent doesn't mean you hate kids and even if someone does...so? They're loud, needy, require a LOT of energy and are kinda terrifying because they haven't yet learned empathy. It's perfectly valid not to like them, want to be around them, or want to have them.

I'm absolutely not even remotely ready to have kids. I'm 26 and don't even think about it. I am that person that hardly ever even thinks about marrying (as a child I never did at all) and the thought of planning anything similar to a wedding stresses me out. Good thing I'm still single. It's perfectly fine to not want kids, we're already with too many humans as is, but I think I get why so many people say you'll change your mind. I might have to do with only fertile for a relatively short amount of time and when the end of nears, a lot of women who never wanted children all of a sudden do want a child. Not all of them though and it's not anyone else's place to decide but yours.

Coming from someone who actually does want kids, it annoys the hell out of me when people say "you'll change your mind" to those who don't want kids. Like, it genuinely baffles me- obviously, if someone doesn't want kids, they have thought long and hard about it (I totally get the whole "pregnancy freaks me out" thing by the way, that's fair and totally valid!). Also, I think adoption is a great alternative to physically having kids, especially given the number of kids currently in the foster care system. You do you, girl!

I absolutely relate to not wanting kids! I've never wanted children, ever. Yet I always get the "Oh you you'll change your mind." "You don't know what could happen down the road." "What's the point of having children if you don't get to have grandchildren?" (My dad said that last one, mostly joking but still) It's so wrong to assume someone will change your mind and tell someone they don't know themselves. Sure you can never know what happen, but if someone tells you this kind of thing, do not disregard their feelings and opinions. Not everyone wants kids. Not everyone wants to be a parent. That should be respected just as much as the want to have kids.

It's so important to talk about not having kids because whenever someone says that they don't want kids a lot of people say that you will change your mind. There could be reasons why a person does not want kids or one could not want want kids just because one does not want children. Our society puts so much importance on marriage and children that if someone does not want to go down that route , people fail to understand and support them.
