04:59 _Street Dreams_ will forever have a special place in my heart, because it is of those rare occasions where Rob Dyrdek does it not for pursuing a paycheck but for the love of the art. In an interview he got questioned for it, and that's contextually what he said. He added that, of all the cinemas he managed to put it in, in performed very poorly. The only revenue he ever got on it's 1st week of release, was through iTunes. He lost a lot of money from it but he didn't care because, in the end, it was _for the kids._ Almost in the same fashion Tony Hawk did the things he did. P-ROD, who was not only in the movie, he was the protagonist, could learn from him. Stevie Williams, at the very least, travels around the world preaching the word of skateboarding whenever he cans, with money from his own pocket I've yet to see P-ROD give back to skateboarding.

First video I’ve seen of yours and I’m subbing. Really level headed takes on a lot of things. Particularly the Sunny stuff, I see why he gets the hate but I don’t think it’s deserved, as you said it’s not his fault he was in the movie. What’s the alternative here? He was in the movie so he’s not allowed to skate? Have the guys from IC ghost him because he’s not at the top level? Skateboarding has always been about hanging with homies and that’s why Sunny is in that position because he’s friends with dudes in that scene. He’s skating with his friends, gets hyped on a video and puts it on IG like the rest of us would, what happens after that isn’t really on him.

Ooooo inclusion. I find it odd how people like Berra find black or non binary or female skaters and use them as corporate accessories to push their own “look how nice we are” agendas. If outsiders wanna skate, let them skate, let their skating do the talking, why we’ve got to patronisingly push them to the forefront seems odd to me. Always seems like companies don’t do this inclusion shit because they care about the person. They use the persons group identity as their main selling point. I actually think it’s kinda disgusting. All the people out there pushing for this stuff are selfish and only seek to use these people to give themselves a little moral pat on the back. Just skate, no one gives a fuck about your gender or your skin colour. It’s boooooring. Politics in skateboarding. Eugh. If they really wanted equality then the skaters skin colour/gender/sexuality should be of no more significance than the colour of their eyes. Until that day, it’s just a bunch of middle class white folks using minorities to make themselves feel like they’re on the right side of history. It’s so boring now. And transparent.

That's kind of a funny opinion on the nine club being bad because the hosts don't question the guests and are hyped on them no matter what because the most popular podcast on the planet (JRE) has the exact same issue. Despite this definitely making both less interesting (a lot worse in Rogan's case because his lack of backbone has caused deadly misinformation to spread) it certainly doesn't hurt them in the popularity department with the success of each of them.
@PHeMoX3 жыл бұрын
The issue with JRE is also in how he just doesn't really care to fact check or background check his guests. It's laughable he had people on his show like Bob Lazar, a notorious liar when it comes to his credentials and a pretty obvious fantast. He claims to have two masters degrees in stuff that literally doesn't exist at the particular universities mentioned. His story is impossible for a number of reasons. One being he never actually is able to talk specifics of what he literally did when 'working on UFO spacecraft'. Someone who actually tried to reverse engineer anything, would pretty much be able to recap weeks if not months of specific work they did on whatever, for example Russian cold war era, aircraft they were deconstructing. I would also agree Joe Rogan has been allowing misinformation to be spread. It's funny how someone like Alex Jones gets cancelled for that, but Joe Rogan can just continue as before. Weird stuff.
