The role of older skaters, like you said, is to be mentors and role models for the next generation. I'm like the responsible auntie when teenagers join my crew on our street missions 'cause I want these kids to grow up with good heads on their shoulders and to stay out of trouble in adulthood. Teenagers have the capacity for change and yet Mikey's treating them like they're full grown adults with no capacity to learn anything. Unless the minor's parents signed off, the contracts don't mean anything. You can't legally subject a minor to contractual obligations the same way that you can an adult. I have a ton of respect for Spike, I clearly remember when I first heard Mikey talking shit and I was so confused as to why the hell he had an issue with Spike...I clearly don't know either of them, but I knew right away it was most likely Mikey being the douche haha this is even back when I at least respected Mikey. I thought it was cool seeing all of the things Mikey had worked on/had in the pipeline, especially since he was so young. But as time went on I learned that it may not have all been just hard work that got him into those special situations...and as time went on I saw his ego completely take over to the point I lost all respect I had for him.
