Moonlight Sonata 3rd movement = sick intro to a rock song
@marsjokes2 жыл бұрын
Oh my gosh! Thanks for naming the piece. I was like, hold on a minute, I know this piece. It's a classical piece. But what's it called, and by whom?. Thanks man. And yeah, it's a totally sick intro for a rock song.

Beethoven has such short, focused, and rhythmic lines that just translate really well to "heavy" instrumentation. Orchestra, electric instruments, piano, etc.

8:16 it’s a variation on the Casey Claw, which is like playing a double stroke roll but you do the weird claw grip in one hand to play doubles. the difference is that with what he’s doing, he plays three notes in one motion so what you do is you death grip the stick in the middle and learn the two-way casey claw, which is what i was just talking about; you hit the butt then the tip of the stick with the claw hand in one motion by rotating the wrist. then, to get the one-handed claw, you get rid of the other hand and with the claw hand, you play butt-tip then add an extra butt at the end by rotating back the other direction. then you repeat, butt-tip-butt butt-tip-butt
@xcw31359 ай бұрын
So you mean after the first strike with the butt of the stick, it continues in the pattern of tip-butt-butt for the rest of the time?

That hi-hat trick was nuts. It was like the hand equivalent of that weird kick pedal that exists that's a single pedal but has 2 beaters on it so when the pedal pulls back, the second beater hits the drum so you get 2 notes for every one stroke.

looks like he grips closer to the tip and swings the base of the stick (closer to the abdomen) through the edge of the hat twice, and then on the second hit the wrist turns enough that the tip also makes contact. I'm not a drummer but I do a similar thing with a little wooden gear on a stick and my bass guitar string.
