Island worked so well because of how accurately is parodied survival shows and teen comedies of the time. The douchebag host, the overly complex challenges, the melodrama, the confessions that seem to happen at impossible moments, the insane cast of strong personalities, the lack of budget, and the over stylized editing. I am glad the show found Its own identity and didn't rely on parody, but the intimate nature of Island was never captured again. I haven't finished the newest season, but i love the characters. Even not finishing it yet, i can tell the 13 episodes won't be enough for the show. Everything already feels so rushed and none of the characters have had any of those more intimate moments outside of the challenges.

Hot Take: *PRE-TWIST* Scarlett (Yes, I count pre-twist Scarlett and post-twist Scarlett as 2 separate characters) is one of the best characters in TDPI and hard carries the show whenever she gets screentime. She was smart and cunning, and she had a genuinely good plan with paring up with Max and enabling him and his "evil" plans until he screws up (in which case it's an obvious, automatic boot for Max). Plus, while not physically the strongest, she's very slick with her tongue and, as stated in her confessionals, is not above doing terrible stuff just to get ahead in the game without feeling any remorse.

Exactly! Pre-Twist Scarlett was one of the few characters that felt multi-faceted. Like, she wasn't just the "smart girl", she was the smart girl persona who's hiding a ruthless underside. It was compelling! It's also why I tried to like Sammy so much. Especially after the stunt she pulled with Amy. I thought they were gonna flesh her out more after that. I mean, I still do like Sammy. But it's mainly cause of all the missed potential she had.

Owen is a good character because he's such a great person. He always tries to be nice and see the best in people, and he comes at it from such a sincere place. In the environment of the show, where people have every incentive to not be like that, Owen still does. If it weren't for how heavily they lean on grossout jokes with him he'd probably be my favourite character but he's such a conduit for shit that's just not fun to watch that it really brings him down.

Was he originally a protector to keep Mike safe years ago before the juveie incident?

Mal could have been an avenger. Which is more rare than a protector but like one step up. Protectors absorb abuse to prevent the host from getting hurt, avengers take the abuse and deal it back to scare off their abuser. Or Mal is a persecutor who basically takes on the role of the system's abuser to keep them in line to try and make sure the system gets abused less. Both are unpleasant jobs/roles that way too often get distilled down to "bad/evil" alter when they have purposes and feelings and need love too. Persecutors with time, love and therapy can find other roles within the system. Same with avengers. Mal being an avenger who went away after juvie makes sense. Systems often have many dormant members that don't come up until they're needed again or are unpacked through therapy.

I will say that Heather indeed should have gotten far in Island, but that it shouldn't have been because of plot armor. At least, not to that extent. Like, you could keep Heather in the game, without making her get an immunity by complete luck in an episode where she clearly would have been eliminated otherwise. Heck, sometime we don't even get an explanation for why she wasn't eliminated. I still don't know why Izzy was eliminated for the second time instead of Heather to this day. And to go back on that pirate episode, the plot armor she received doesn't make her seem like she is a smart manipulating villain. It makes it feel like she is someone dumb that got lucky. Like, she made a plan to make Gwen and Trent angry at each other, and make everyone else vote for Trent, but she didn't come up with something that would prevent her from from getting all the elimination votes instead. Maybe it would have felt like a smarter plan if she made her plan, AFTER she already knew she would get immunity, but that's not what happens. The stupid part is that the majority of this would have been solved with one simple change. You see, the reason why the Heather plot armor feels worse than the Alejandro or Scott plot armor is because those two at least made the effort to not reveal how bad of a person they are too early into the game. Heather meanwhile read Gwen's diary in front of everyone as soon as the fourth challenge, so now everyone knows she is a bitch. This is a problem, because first, this is another thing that makes Heather seem more dumb than an actual smart manipulative villain, because there was absolutely no strategic reasons to read Gwen's diary in front of everyone. Second, and more importantly, now the writers have to come up with multiple excuses as to why Heather isn't eliminated for the rest of the season, with varying levels of success. If Heather didn't show her true colors that early, her not being eliminated can be very simply explained by "the other contestant doesn't know how horrible she is and all the bad stuff she does throughout the season". No ridiculous plot armor needed. The Big Sleep is my favorite TDI episode for multiple reason, and one of them is that we see how peak Heather looks like. In that episode, she comes up with a plan to eliminate Eva without ever being suspected as a bad person that people should be aware of. And that's actually really cool, and make her look smart. But we can't have moments like that in the rest of the season because she ruined everything in the fourth challenge.

I thought of a few ways to make amendments. Not Quite Famous - She just does a regular ballet routine and gets more points than Justin. Thus by getting on their good side, so Justin is voted off for being disappointing. or a weird comical approach. She does her ballet routine while simultaneously reading Gwen's diary out loud. A weird talent that gets a lot of points. Some divide amongst the Gophers about whether she just wanted to show off her talent or wanted to antagonise Gwen. Seek and Not Destroy - She clearly peeks into a chest and knows that is the invincibility one. After getting her key, then she enacts the plot. Wawanaka Gone Wild - Heather wins invincibility either by getting a gentler animal or she takes a risk by luring a bear for an intense chase. So the other campers vote Izzy since there is no better options to vote somebody insane.

The problem is SPECIFICALLY that they don't treat it as such a big deal, when it perhaps kind of should be. Like, everyone in the team now knows that there is a member in their team that is willing to read one of her teammates diary in front of everyone, even if it could cost them the challenge, only to humiliate that someone. And I maintain that there was no strategic reason to do that, because you say the goal was to prevent a boyfriend/girlfriend alliance, but I don't see how reading Gwen's diary would allow that. Trent himself prevented that alliance from happening more during Fear Factory. And I understand that she used her alliance to save herself, but her alliance should be used IN CASE people find out what kind of person she is or at least to have control on who to eliminate first to get rid of bigger threats, not to protect herself from the fact she drew an immense target on her own back for no particular reason. And once she doesn't have Beth and Lindsay to protect her, what can she do? Also it isn't brought up ever again, but we also don't need to. What's important isn't the fact she read Gwen's diary. What's important is that everyone knows she is a bitch. And it is shown how much people dislike her MULTIPLE TIMES, without ever bringing up the diary. And like, the diary event is the only thing she's done. Obviously there is the thing with Trent, and her betraying Lindsay, but she is also a general pain in the ass to deal with. Throughout the whole season, for someone that said "You should keep your friends close, and your enemies closer", she really sucks at "keeping her enemies close". And yes, Duncan did horrible things, mainly the bullying against Harold. Sure, the first bullying at least served to make Harold stop leaving his underwears everywhere, but the second bullying was literally free. But AT LEAST you see the others being on Duncan's side. Whether it makes sense for DJ and Geoff to be on Duncan's side is another story, and honestly I do think it's questionable, but at the very least, we have an explanation for why Duncan's bully Harold without any worries about getting eliminated which is: "Geoff and DJ are with him on the bullying as well, and Courtney wouldn't vote against Duncan because she likes him, and even if we would have shown Bridgette being against the bullying, it wouldn't be enough votes to eliminate Duncan". Meanwhile, aside from her alliance, people are NEVER on Heather's side. In fact, people generally hate her. Even Owen says everyone except her deserves to win, and he's freaking Owen! I will end this comment by saying that you are totally right that the diary scene did serve a purpose. It served the purpose of establishing Heather as a true bitch who is the villain of the season, and it does that excellently. However, there are MANY ways to do that without making Heather seem like someone who makes very dumb choices. Once again, the Big Sleep for me is an episode where Heather is at her peak, and that's because in that episode, the audience sees how evil and manipulative she is, but we are also scared of what she will do next because the other campers don't see who she truly is yet, and can easily get manipulated by her in the same way Eva was. Reading Gwen's diary in front of everyone, as well as other actions she does throughout the seasons does serve the purpose of making the audience hate Heather well, it also makes her feel like a way less threatening antagonist if everyone on the Island also hates her, and it makes me wonder how the fuck she managed to get this far into the game. While sometime the answer to that question makes sense in some episodes, in others it seems very forced when it's not literally unexplained and makes zero sense.

Blaineley could have been in just two more episodes and then either gotten eliminated in "Rapa Phooey!" or blown up in the plane in "Welcome to Drumheller" to better justify her later injury. 8:30 Personally I think The Goths from Ridonculous Race are the best canon couple since they're healthy yet still entertaining to watch which is a hard balance to strike. However, as a toxic romance, Aleheather is pretty compelling. I like how in All-Stars they completely fall apart once money is on the table, but they can still go back to being a normal couple once the money is off limits again. I don't think anyone else could really pull off that dynamic. My only complaint about their relationship in All-Stars is how Heather's dialogue is kind of generically loving in the finale. Alejandro can pull it off since he's naturally flirty, but it would've made more sense if Heather called him a conniving snake as a pet name or something to show that their relationship still has an edge to it. 12:15 Definitely agree. All-Stars is basically a crossover so allowing the different casts to interact is the main appeal. I agree with other people that Heroes vs. Villains may not have been the best way to go about it (the teams could've just been assigned randomly), but isolating gen 1 and gen 2 would defeat the purpose of All-Stars. As for hot takes, while I agree that the later seasons would benefit from being longer, I don't think they _need_ to be 26 episodes. I feel like people get really hung up on the idea of a full season vs. a half season when they could just ask for a different number of episodes altogether. Personally, I think the later seasons would benefit more if they were closer to 16-20 episodes depending on the cast size. Don't get me wrong, I still enjoyed Action since its slice of life vibe is pretty unique, but I feel like the ratio of contestants to episodes is why it feels kind of unfocused. Like, there weren't enough characters to eliminate, so the writers had to do things like bring back Owen even though he didn't disrupt the other players like he was supposed to and he didn't resolve his debt, so he was essentially brought back for no reason. There are other examples, this was just the one I had off the top of my head. On the other hand, we have Island 2023. This season was pretty good, but structurally it's very predictable because the cast to episode ratio doesn't allow for anything _but_ eliminations. There's no room for a team swap or a character return, and there isn't any time for something dramatic like the characters voting for a particularly annoying character only for them to learn that it's a nonelimination episode. I love a brisk pace, but this one definitely would've benefitted from being like 2-5 episodes longer. But I think that's part of why Revenge is my favorite season. I know you take issue with it being a bit too fast, but the writers really made use of each characters' time on the show, plus they had just enough time to squeeze all those things that I mentioned above that couldn't be fit into Island 2023. I could maybe see them adding 3 more episodes: one to give B and Dawn more screen time, one to organically dismantle the love triangle, and another episode to focus on Zoey without Mike. But it's hard to imagine a version of Revenge that goes any longer than that since a full 26 episodes would completely destroy the forward momentum of the season. At that point I'd rather see them in a 2nd season because it would force everyone to deal with their baggage from the previous season like what they're doing with Island 2023. For example, there's no way B, Dawn _and_ Mike could all get back at Scott for sabotaging them in the course of one season, but they could do that in a follow-up season.

Honestly I love that Trent is kinda bland. If you're writing a fic or story about him, I think it's easier to establish a personality to him depending on your interpretation of him post-Total Drama. You could make him like his Island self, you could write about him letting fame get in over his head with The Drama Brothers, you can write him as kinda jaded from his experience on the show and his mental health, etc. Personally, that's where the fun in Trent is for me anyway lol

My opinion: one thing that makes Pakhitew Island much better is theme. If TDI had a "teens on a camp"(which was great too), PI had a theme more inspired by irl Survivor - building own shelters, one tribe living in the cave, finding own food, just trying to survive in "wild", even tribe names inspired by native languages. After all it's survivor parody. Even whole "robots and fake island" twist didn't ruin this because in my opinion it was executed well.

thats honestly a really good point! i think obviously as the cast being the centre stage of any show, it is still one of the weaker ones in the series, but that one had genuinely intersting challenges and id say some that were more unique and fun to watch than any other season, as well as it seemingn to follow the original media more closely with challenges that also included like mental tasks instead of just obstacke courses. and with teh robots and fake island, it was a good concept but i feel it is weakened by the presentation, timing and writing of it, anothe youtuber made a great point when reveiwing each season that before that reveal, there was nothing particularly special about PI, yes it was about a more dangerous island but it was hardly present, i think if they leaned into more the teens finding out about the roobot island sooner aside from jasmine being confused it couldve bene devleoped into a really awseom twist

Imo why it falls flat for me is how little they do with it. They dont integrate it well. They kinda just have robots for the sake of it. It couldve worked if they had a little more time. Idc if there are "filler" episodes like they had in Action. 26 episodes is plenty of time to flesh out 14 characters and a new island. The reward epiaodes in S2 were great imo cuz seeing the cast just interact in a stress free environment gives us a better look at them. If they approached it like that for Pakithew Island, they couldve made me genuinely like characters like Beardo or Rodney. Pre-Evil Scarlett is a great character because shes not just "smart girl," she has a lot other traits that they subtly wrote in without throwing it in your face. Characters like Beardo are just... Alejandro was too good of a villain. They created the ultimate bad guy 3 seasons in and because of it the next seasons suffered. Scott and the Ice Dancers were pretty good but Mal, Scarlett and Sugar were hot garbage. . Mal could have been a great villain if he wasn't such a comically evil edgelord, personally I would have made him a Machiavellian foil to Mike in order to protect him. Claiming that Mike was too weak and he needed to take charge to win this competition no matter who gets trampled in his way due to Mal witnessing Mike's elimination in Grand Chef Auto. Also he giving a reason to distance himself from his friends instead of his "I'm a bad kid that likes to do bad things" excuse would have helped.

Mal couldve been a good villain if 1) they humanized him a bit more. Like, maybe he actually still loves Zoey and wants to be with her, and is just a defense mechanism of Mike (much like a lot of others with DID). He can still be ruthless and cunning, but to a more human degree. 2) They made his plan make more sense other than just breaking stuff. Maybe he breaks stuff of the opposing team to keep their spirits down so his team is more likely to win? 3) They remove the ableist writing... like WHO thought curing Mikes DID with a RESET BUTTON was a good idea???? Another hot take: Ridonculous Race is my favorite season and World Tour is just okay. Action and Island are better. The season is EXTREMELY overhyped. There were a lot of writing issues, they disposed of most of the cast early on without doing anything good with them, make Ezekiel go insane for a LOTR reference, ruined several characters for me, and then dropped the prize money in the volcano as a final F U. Good season still, but I like Action a lot more. Funnier and better characters. Besides Trent and Gwen.

my take is that i think the vegans should’ve gone further in RR. i think they would’ve been so interesting to see as cracks in their character were already starting to show ( breaking their vow of veganism, laurie attacking don). it would’ve so fun to see the pacifist vegan girls turn to villians under pressure. my guess is that they would target father and son kind of how the ice dancers targeted the cadets, but my reading is that they had taken their fossil in the iceland episode which forced them to eat the meat feast which made them so upset. i think it would’ve been such a fun development/plot point

I guess my hot take is that I actually liked Owen the best in World Tour. I totally get how his presence balanced out the final four in island and added some drama in action when the whole Lindsay’s VA getting sick kinda shook things up. In world tour it felt like he was there exactly as long as he needed to and his relationships with Noah, Izzy, and Alejandro (and even Blainely) were all really interesting and funny.

Alright, I have a few hot takes: Beth did deserve to be in the final two in Action. She had her character develop more, and she's a genuinely nice girl with many people rooting for her. TDRI's final two should've been Scott and Zoe, it would've led to a bigger payoff for their dynamics, and Cameron and Lightning didn't have as big motivations to win (Lightning more so than Cameron) World Tour isn't the best season for me. Its highs are the highest of the entire show, but its lows are enough to bring it down before RR and TDI Cody kind of had his character thrown off in World Tour because of Sierra. Usually he's very flirty with the girls and tries to act cool around them (usually coming off as creepy might i add) but when Sierra is thrown in he only ever expresses interest in Gwen (which is kind of what he does in Island but i digress)

Dawn x Duncan could have saved Duncan’s All-Stars arc. The show repeatedly shows him as putting on a “tough guy” act that’s starting to become less credible, and I think Dawn’s ability to see through this sort of act could have been a better catalyst for Duncan’s anxiety. She’d likely be able to see the more gentle side he can sometimes have very easily as well, which could create a connection. Regardless of how they would have let it play out, I’m bummed we may even see them interact.

I'm an anomaly who's favorite character is Trent and favorite season is Action lol. I love pretty much everything about Action after the first quarter. But that's in spite of, not because of. The "hot" Gwuncan VS Duncney take made me laugh so much because it's absolutely not a hot take. Like no, the hot take in the love triangle is that Gwuncan is your favourite ship out of the three (Duncney, Gwuncan, Gwourtney). Like the amount of hate I received for being a Gwuncan shipper while I always started my sentences with a "but you know I understand the appeal of Duncney and I totally understand if you like them"... Man this fandom is crazy sometimes. So yeah real hot take: Gwuncan is my OTP. Not in their execution but in their personalities fitting together and complementing each other without being an "opposite do attract". What I loved the most about them in the show was how every single one of their discussions was so obviously naural. They enjoyed each other's presence and being with the other was natural and just normal. X-Files is really showing why they would totally work together, they are just enjoying each other without redoing the mistakes from their previous relationships (problems in the game for Gwen, putting too much expectations, having too much pressure for Duncan). The way they got together was a mess. But them together was actually normal and I just feel like ROTI got it right with the first cameo. They just like to be together and don't care about other people's opinion that much. What I was really scared of in WT was that Gwen's aftermath would be a rip-off of what she faced in Action were everyone makes her feel bad. And she deserves to feel ashamed, try to arrange things is the bare minimum she can do. But yeah, I just love Gwuncan and in my imagination, they get together in a way less messed-up way. Like just having Duncan break up with Courtney before kissing Gwen would have been enough for me to find it acceptable. But here, it just puts a bad light on a relationship that had potential.

Plot armor can be both good and bad in my opinion because on the good side, some of the good characters stay to cause the drama and add more intresting parts to the season as a whole, but on the bad side characters with too much plot armor just take away from the other really good characters who dont get enough screen time and have no time to develop. An example for this is noah from world tour, the writers chose to make team amazon to win the london challenge just so they could add on to the love triangle thing (which i personally think was one of the worst things they did) and noah got out because of alejandros plot armor, and another example of this is duncan in general, duncan is a writers pet, he has made it past merge on every season he has been on and it takes away from other really good characters (like lindsay in action) and whenever thw writers have a chnace, they will always add duncan to some sort of drama or redemption-

Geoff shouldve been in all stars. In TDI he was a massive part in both Gwen and Duncan's arks throught the season. He didn't get much screen time in the actual competition in TDA, however he had a whole ark in of his own on the aftermath where he goes from hero to zero to hero and in the special, he is the reason the small group (Him, Trent, Momma, Eva, Beth, Katie, Sadie and Justin) miss the the season deadline. He is then the good half of the good vs evil dynamic of him vs Blaineley.

Second hot take is I like Justin as a villain more than Courtney. Him using his good looks to manipulate the women (and Owen) was something interesting compared to Courtney's lawyers. He was such a blank slate due to almost zero lines in the first season, he could've just been smarter. Pretending to be the stupid hot guy without a brain while being a schemer would've been great. Though it would've probably robbed us of Alejandro. And while the lawyer thing was unique, it mostly resulted in her just hissing at Chris she'd call up her lawyer if things didn't go her way or not getting some unfair advantage. Getting a boost up because you have money to pay for a lawyer rather than pure skill just isn't interesting. And aside from a few bits of (usually failed) manipulation, her villainy was basically just her being nasty to everyone and throwing temper tantrums. I guess I like the more "secret" villains more than ones that just act horrible to everyone. At least in a show like Total Drama where friendly relations will save your ass and is generally the best strategy. Of course Mal doesn't count and is a horrible villain even if he's "secret" to the other characters until near the end.

Honestly Alejandro in the first third of World Tour is a Terrible Villain, the writers heavily dumbed down characters like Bridgette, Leshawna and Harold just to make him seem smart and manipulative. They take Bridgette, the girl who got eliminated from action for making out with her Boyfriend too much, and turn her into someone who can’t handle a guy simply taking his shirt off around her. Meanwhile Leshawna, despite making up with Heather at the end of Action suddenly doesn’t trust her again and is falling head over heals for a guy she just met because he saved her from falling out of a plane. Around the time DJ gets eliminated however, I do believe he starts to finally work as a Villain and all the people he eliminates actually make sense. Accept Duncan who gets eliminated because he votes for Alejandro despite Alejandro having immunity.

If I were to say anything controversial about Total Drama - Eva should have been in Action. If you look back at the Island -> Action Special, Eva was absolutely characterized to have an important role against Justin - one of the few females to do so in the earlygame, yet they dropped her in favor of some other strange choices. Considering how badly Trent was transferred from Island to Action, the writers very easily could have just swapped the two, and not much would change. Trent only really was relevant for the first few episodes, while Eva had large potential to interact with Heather (after the MP3 player incident), and could be part of the reason for getting Justin eliminated in the long run. Why they didn't do so - most likely Action was written around only the characters that people considered the most popular or best at the time. While I cannot relocate my source - I recall finding somewhere on the Fandom Wiki of an older image that noted the 16 contestants of Action in order of popularity - notably with Beth and Duncan near the top, but not mentioning any characters that would be removed in Island.

Yea, Scott's the original main antagonist, but my argument is that said role, and the "plan" the writers thrusted onto him forced them to dumb down all of the post-merge characters. @@nicholassims9837 every point you brought up are the exact reasons Scott fails to deliver as a villain. To touch on the Elimination idols, they were a plot point used ONLY as a reason to eliminate Dawn. The fake idols are NEVER used again after that. Every episode had to have Scott change the approach to "failing on purpose" as a means to justify it. Villains like Heather and Alejandro were so good because their plans were CONSISTENT. Heather's pack-mentality towards alliances and Alejandro's use of charm as a tool for deception and manipulation allowed them to SILENTLY pick off the cast, even when they had the biggest targets on their backs. Another good example would be the Ice Dancers in RR, and how they accept their time penalties for cheating to secure leads so massive the competition can't make it on time to capitalize on the penalties. The problem with Scott is the writing of the character itself, which caused the rest of the cast to dumb down so they couldn't realistically see right through his ruse.

My hot takes would probably be that Pahkitew Island is genuinely a pretty good time for what it is. It’s a total trainwreck, don’t get me wrong, but I kind of love it! Also the Love Triangle plot line was actually really good imo (aside from the ending in All Stars) and I like Duncney! I just love the way it gradually developed and unfolded. It felt like a natural sequence of events and made for some really good drama.

Mike is one of the best characters in ROTI and AS. Yes, he doesn’t have great MPD representation but he’s one of the most consistent and planned out characters in those seasons. This is part opinion because I love Mike and he’s my favorite

Hot take: neither Justin or Courtney are the villains of Action. Justin just tries to use his good looks to make others help him in challenges, and it doesn't even get him that far. And Courtney wins all of challenges because of her skills and abilities not her lawyers! She was unfairly cheated in Island and that caused her already competitive nature to be pushed to extreme level due to her desire to win and prove herself. And neither of them does anything bad or evil like ever!

I agree. Justin using his looks to charm lindsay and beth never felt that nefarious. It's not like he ever forced them to do stuff they wouldn't normally do anyway, unlike heather. I feel like justin's only successful attempt at manipulation was when he blackmailed gwen, but his entire team was onboard for it so they're kind of equally culpable for that. Same w/ courtney. She used her lawyers to avoid elimination in her return episode but most of the later perks were for things unrelated to the competition like getting good food. She quickly lost contact with her lawyers anyway, at which point all her subsequent wins were accomplished thru her own skill. She was certainly more aggressive than the other characters, but it's hard to call her a "villain" since she played the game pretty straightforwardly.

Locking Geoff out of world tour and forcing Bridgette to go out 16th was not cool to me. Bridgette had the most potential out of anyone on Team Victory to win and it got taken away. We don’t even get to see their adorable romance either. Bridgette isn’t even there to be with Geoff when he wins RR. Bridgette was screwed over probably the most hard.

12:57 Yeah I agree completely! I watched all of All Stars in one day! (because it was a Saturday and I got woken up at 6 AM and couldn’t fall back asleep) With Island, WT and Action I took breaks like watch two episodes and then stop watching it for months at a time. I’m new to the TD community and I haven’t even finished my first watch through of Island or Action yet. Though I did watch and finish WT and All Stars.

7:18 I wholeheartedly disagree. I feel like the season could’ve focused on the Bass and the conflict between Eva and Courtney if Heather was an early boot. While Eva is a challenge beast, she very much isn’t able to work with people who annoy her. While Courtney does well at leading a team, she isn’t super amazing at challenges unless pushed to her emotional limits.

Hot take: Pahkitew Island wasn’t nearly as bad as people say it is. The new cast is actually pretty decent, and unlike something like All-Stars, where it’s just constantly frustrating, I don’t mind how Pahkitew Island plays out, and that makes it very fun to rewatch. I think it’s easily better than All-Stars and maybe even Revenge of the Island.

It’s interesting, for years I always saw that line as being able to apply to both endings. If she won, then sure, she was robbed by Ezekiel. If she didn’t, then she lost purely on a technicality. I can see that as being figuratively robbed. Though I can definitely see why some people consider that a confirmation one way or another

so i saw that nobody really talked about the characters that got eliminated first and i think cody, eva, and noah deserved more screen time in season 1 sure, cody got ALOT of screen time, but that was only simping for gwen, i really wanted cody to interact with the other characters instead of simping for her. and eva was actually pretty relatable if your a teenager always listening to music, because she got angry if anyone touched her earphones and i really liked how she was kinda rude. and noah, i really liked noah because he was a huge nerd and bookworm, and had ALOT for sarcasm. he also (kinda) had something with cody. i would love to see them get together someday. but yeah, cody, eva, and noah are kinda "overrated" in the fandom and this probably isnt a hottake and more of an opinion on the characters.
