There’s a reason why there’s a saying that says a quarterbacks best friend is a great running game. The reason why Tennessee’s young quarterback looks so good. It’s because they have a great running game right now and an experienced offensive line.

Jesse, what does switching Qb's matter if the one you go to is the better option and performs as such? Whether he struggles or not?
@jkcrittenden14Ай бұрын
Is there a world where Michael Hawkins is a better QB right now? Probably. The overall point I was making is that the backup is usually the backup for a reason, especially true freshmen, and there's no real reason to suspect it'd be better with Hawkins right now. Of course there are exceptions like Caleb Williams, though I think he struggled more than some fans remember. We don't really have a good sample size to judge Jackson yet. There's been so much change and the injuries don't help. The coaching staff can't make the switch unless they're extremely confident that Arnold just isn't the answer and that Hawkins is ready to play, and two games just isn't enough to make that call. And it's never as simple as just inserting a new quarterback. The offense would have to be adjusted and tinkered with, and that is really difficult to do midseason, especially this year with it being the first one in the SEC. Plus, it'd be a lot to ask a true freshman to come save the offense, and none of this is mentioning the impact that benching Jackson could have. I know you may disagree with all of that, and I get it. The offense has been bad and injuries aren't an excuse. It's possible we have that answer, good or bad, as soon as this weekend. Thanks for watching!

Its pretty concerning that we're worried about Tulane. Yes theyre a decent football team but what would their record be if they played Oklahoma's schedule? If we're so worried about Tulane what does that mean for the rest of the schedule?

If they score 1 more point than them ill be happy as a lark especially if they dont score a point which is what im hoping for. Lets go d. Lets get that goose egg. Help them boys on the otherside out

Coach C. This does not explain his happy feet, inaccuracy downfield, and inability of Jackson Arnold to make plays with his feet. It would be nice to see him do more. I do agree that it is steal his job to lose over the course of the next two weeks.
@Sooner_SmithАй бұрын
With the QB’s I’ve coached, that results (much of the time) from aiming instead of passing. Aiming can be a result of not trusting your receivers. Being down 4 starters isn’t helping and could be a reason. Happy feet results from watching the rush which is due to contrasting the o-line. I think we all understand what’s going on there and doesn’t need explanation. Hope this helps! Here’s to OU playing well this weekend.

Bring Gundy back and put him in charge of the offense. If BV don’t like , let him turn his resignation in immediately!!!!! Gundy could fill the role the rest of the season too!!!! Coaching is the problem with this team not the players. We would at least win the ones we’re supposed too!!!!
