It was reported that the Jets will try to shop Ehlers before the draft so lets look at some hypotheticals!

Chychrun and a 2025 3rd for Ehlers Assume both players come with extensions. I could see Winnipeg shaking up their blueline this offseason and getting rid of Pionk and Schmidt which would open up a top 4 spot for Chychrun

Pionk, unfortunately, is staying. Management has said they "will evaluate him at a different price point" this time next year. Most likely scenario is Schmidt leaving of the two ​@TheOnyx66Hockey

You're right that the market in Vancouver has soured on Hronek. Pettersson clearly needs a winger to play with, so I don't mind that hypothetical Hronek for Ehlers trade. Rutherford and Allvin have done a good job quickly rebuilding the backend, so I wouldn't be worried about them not finding a suitable Hronek replacement.

I agree but I think instead of a pick we try to unload Mikaheyev as well. Rhd are a premium so we might be able to get that done as mik would slot on a winger spot for them and we get some cap relief

As a Jets fan I would love Jiricek for Ehlers 1 for 1. Rossi, Lambos, and a 1st would be unreal, I’d be so happy! I would love a first and Mangiapane from Calgary. Marner trade is an overpayment like you said but if you scrap the first I would consider it, it depends on Mitch Marner’s fit in Winnipeg. Chychrun would be a decent fit I think he’d play well in Winnipeg. I would do the second Marner trade for sure, fair to me, but the first becoming a second makes it even better. I would love Chicago’s first round pick since I’m sure it’ll be a lottery pick even though it’s a couple years down the line! Necas would be good on the Jets, but obviously contract talks would get expensive!

I'd do Chych for Ehlers all day from Ottawas perspective. Timmy needs someone like Ehlers who can keep up with him flying around the ice. Brady - Pinto - Bath looked real good together I wouldnt wanna break them apart right now.

Any of these where the main return is a forward, should’ve been scrapped. Ehlers will be traded for a dman no matter what. The jets have too many forwards as is, plus they have one of the best prospect pools forward wise, perfetti will be back in the top6 next year, lambert will be top6, chib and mcgroarty will be soon too.

That huge dump of assets for marner is genuinely a horrific trade offer and u saying all u need to do is take off the 1st to make it fair is embarrassing. I honestly think the return on ehlers and marner will be similar bc while ehlers isn’t the better player, his contract is far more valuable. Marner will get more but not by much. Perfetti will be back in the top6 next season and thinks will be fine u just don’t know what ur talking about with that part which is fine. But come on that’s a horrific trade. Ehlers+perfetti for marner is still an overpay for winnipeg
