i love Ehlers, and i feel like he has yet to show us his full potential and I think that's been because of injuries, coaching, linemates. honestly, if we don't change anything and ehlers stays on the 2nd powerplay with shit linemates then I'm fine seeing him go because I want him to succeed.

In my mind the jets shouldn’t change the offense very much but remake the defensive core

Ehlers is one of the top scorers when they let him play. Same goes for Perfetti. It's the defence that needs changing and also the coaching staff.

Ehlers is very likeable and a fan favorite, but at the end of the day, this is a business. The Jets NEED a RHD more than they need Ehlers. Ehlers is streaky, can become a turnover machine and he does not perform well in the playoffs. The Jets need a roster that is conducive to performing well in the playoffs, and Ehlers does not fit that mold. Trading Ehlers is a hard, but necessary move that needs to be done.

If it brings in a return of a DMan like a Chychrun than I would do it. Otherwise no unless he's already told the team he will test free agency

The teams that do well in the playoffs have forwards that play tough, with grit, and very physical play. An example would be Bennet, and Tkachuk for Florida, as those are the types of players you win with. The Jets as well as the Leafs are lacking these gritty tough forwards you need in playoff hockey. I love Nik Ehlers, he's electric with great talent, but if the right players came in return for a trade for him, I'd be looking at that very seriously. Also the Jets got to get rid of Schmidt, and Pionk, and keep Dillon, who plays very physical, and protects the smaller talented players.

Personally, I would trade Connor before Fly. Ehlers has his trouble with giveaways in the offensive zone but the guy is a battler. Connor tends to be too soft on the boards and I see him often shy away from players (especially since his last injury). D is what the Jets need. To not have any talks with Dillon is crazy to me.

They also said Scheifs and Helle were going to be dealt, when scrub reporters like a Billeck, McIntre say things I tune out, Dregger is the only 1 who is fed info and the only one I believe. Go Jets Go!

Trade Ehlers? NO! The return for him won’t be good. He’ll be way cheaper than Connor, trade Connor for right side stud Dman

European players just don’t have the internal drive to win a cup. They’re not willing to put their bodies on the line, absorbing hits, blocking shots, etc… I would trade him for a Canadian grinder

Heres deals i think make sense 1. Ehlers+Pionk/Stanley or Iafallo =Pulock+Nelson+ pick 2. If we were able do straight up or add for a Byram/Schneider. 3. RFA NHL ready prospects like Nemec,Jiricek, mateychuk types under team control. Or futures package including Geekie in Utah,Savoie Buffalo. 4.older dman with term Sanheim,Provorov,Parayko. 5. People have been saying Chychrun/orlov but both are in last year UFA like Ehlers and could walk or move at deadline. Imo if any of these other jets players need to be added make a big trade chevy should do it Perfetti,Gustafson,Pionk,Stanley,Iafallo,Lucius,Zhilkin,Wagner,Ford.

You don’t trade Ehlers for a winger you get yourself a top 4 defence man. You also move on from Schmidt and possibly Pionk

Ehlers should be recognized as a good team mate and a talented forward. Sadly though he is flat out one of the worst turnover machine in Jets history. Coach after coach have recognized this and that is why he is often stapled to the bench when it matters most. Like the guy! amazed at his skill but I have seen so many brain dead drop passes to the opposition at the end of one of his ice capadesskate arounds that I will happily wave good bye

Ehlers' tenure with the Jets has been a mixed bag, with: - 457 points (201 goals) over 605 games (respective per-game averages, rounded to the nearest 0.001, of 0.755 and 0.332) and a +92 during regular-season play - 14 points (4 goals) over 37 games (respective per-game averages of 0.378 and 0.108) and a -9 during postseason play with, during the postseason of: -- 2018: --- overall: 7 points (all assists, in each case, for that postseason and others, unless otherwise noted) over 15 games and a +4 --- vs the: ---- MN Wild: 2 points over 4 games and a +2 ---- Preds: 4 points over 7 games and a +3 ---- Golden Knights (VGK): 1 point over 4 games and a -1 -- 2019 vs the Blues: no point, but a -2, over 6 games -- 2020 vs the Flames: 2 points (both goals), but a -2, over 4 games -- 2021: --- overall: 3 points (2 goals), but a -5, over 6 games --- vs the Oilers: 2 points (both goals) and a 0 +/- over 2 games --- vs the Habs: 1 point and -5 over 4 games -- 2023 vs the VGK: no point, but 0 +/-, in 1 game -- 2024 vs the Avs: 2 points, but a -4, over 5 games During how many playoff series has Ehlers averaged at least ½ point/game? I count 4 (those vs the MN Wild, Preds, Flames and Oilers) of the 9 series in which he's played during which he's put up at least such a per-game average. I also count 4 during which he's put up a +/- better than -1. Ehlers, during the 2017-18 Jets' season, had a cap hit of US$894,167 but in each subsequent season has had a cap his of US$6 million. That means that during the 5 seasons he's seen playoff action, his total cap hit has been US$30,894,167, resulting in, wait for it, a cap hit per playoff point of US$2,206,726.21, rounded to the nearest US$0.01. When with the Leafs, winger Ilya Mikheyev put up 4 points (2 goals) over 19 playoff games, equating to a per-game average of 0.211. Yet during his 3 seasons his cap hit wasn't even US$2 million per season, with his total cap hit having come to US$4.215 million, equating to, per playoff point, US$1,053,750. Ehlers, during the 5 games he played this postseason, put up 2 points, more than, during 9 games, Mikheyev with the Canucks has gone pointless, with his per-season cap hit US$4.75 million. That means that among seasons during which Mikheyev has seen playoff action, his cap hit per relevant point has ballooned to, wait for it, US$2,241,250 (US$8.965 million for 4 points). Will Jets' GM Cheveldayoff trade Ehlers? Although I dunno if Chevy will, there's a case to be made that Ehlers' days with the Jets, beyond the last game the team has played during the 2024-25 season, are numbered.

Nononononononononononono , do not trade. I feel Nick passes to players who are not prepared for his imagination or speed. He needs to be kept in line #1. Not moving him around with slower, and less imaginative players.

Dillon and bross are Ufas so we won’t trade them they’ll just go where they want. Schmidt has no value as he’s making 6 mill, so none of those 3 will be involved in an ehlers trade most likely

I’d trade Ehlers for a really good RHD to either drop DeMelo down or be a #3. It’s pretty clear the Jets don’t have the cap room to extend Ehlers long term and there is doubt he wants to sign anyway. Moving on this summer is by far the best bet.

If we were to trade Ehlers, we should trade him for the Sabres 11th pick or future picks. IDK if you watch NBA basketball, but the situation our team is at right now is very reminiscent of Phoenix Suns the last 3 years. Very good in the regular season, but choke in the playoffs. Even traded for Kevin Durant last year only to lose in the 2nd round. Personally, I think we should trade Kyle Connor instead of Ehlers, but I want picks for our team & to go with a very young team with 2 - 3 championship winning veterans (preferrably Patrick Kane, Jonathan Toews & Jonathan Quick) to teach our young core how to play and act like stanley cup winning team.
