Jealousy and envy are different. You can envy what someone has and want it for yourself without begrudging they have it. Jealousy is when you want what someone else has and begrudge them having it. Envy = okay, jealousy = not so much.

I think you have a tight group and if people say different they are jealous because they do NOT have that close friendship in their life! I wish I had close friends like you do. At 47, I think it is too late to have friends to laugh and have fun with but those same friends are support when needed too. That is a beautiful relationship to have with anyone. I hope you stay close all your lives. I’ve never had that and I do envy your closeness with each other. It’s beautiful and fun and loving and kind and that is truly priceless. Keep it up and always be there for each other. When you are old, that bond will be there and you will adore it. Great job!

I feel like people have an idea about how much hard work goes into being an Olympic gymnast, but it’s easy to miss the fact that there’s a little bit of luck in there, too. Like, to be the right age, at the right time, with the right skills but without the wrong injuries, there has to be something bigger than just yourself that makes that happen.
