For the opinion about Dynamite being a song to make money....sorry to break it, but every song is produced to make money. Korean idols make Japanese songs to break into the Japanese music market, they release Chinese versions since china is one of the largest markets for kpop and thus would profit the grp and company. I don't know why people are still so pressed about this.

Exactly, and if they want to understand them they should learn Korean
@rosa32993 жыл бұрын
My parents love Elvis Presley despite not knowing English. Many international fans love western artists. Like Bruno Mars, Ariana Grande, Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, etc. Depsite not knowing English. You don't see people telling Ariana Grande that she should learn Spanish because she has a lot of hispanic fans (example). And it is not a problem. So why expect Kpop idols to learn English. America is a country that has different races and different cultures living here. And it never had am official language. Places like Korea that don't have different races or cultures living there do. Because South Korea mainly only has Korean people living there. Learning English is not their priority. It has that colonialism mindset. Living in America, I met people that expect a group of people to learn or know more about America and the language. But if you ask them if they would do the same they say "no, because why would I? It is not going to benefit me and I don't need it." Or something along the lines of that. And they see in such a condescending way.

@acidspittingllama18653 жыл бұрын
@@amethystcane7401 You don't get their reasoning. Most people who say this are missing albums like mots persona and 7, Lys series, hyyh. Not that they want the old sound. They just want more complex, meaningful songs. All of their eng tracks lacks complexity or lyricality they once had.
@amethystcane74013 жыл бұрын
@@acidspittingllama1865 Saying Dynamite was made for money and that they miss their deep bodies of work are two completely different topics. HYYH with the BU series was a perfect marketing strategy that also gained a lot of profit. Besides, do you think leaving dynamite as it was, wasn't by choice? They've released other full English songs like Winter Bear by Tae, Tokyo and Change by Joon which don't lack lyricality. What's wrong with releasing a fun song that has a no deeper meaning? They've been releasing complex and deep concepts for 5 years straight and when they decide to take a break during the pandemic and release fun and nonsensical song, people act as if it's been 3 years with no end in sight. Since Dynamite, they've released, Christmas Love, Winter Flower, Abyss, Bicycle, Film Out and BE album, which touched on sensitive topics and was top tier lyrically but you forgot to mention it because it seems everyone forgot BE exists.
@acidspittingllama18653 жыл бұрын
@@amethystcane7401 I don't understand your question about leaving dynamite. It's about the title tracks being soley in eng thats what people are complaining about. I'm sure the fans appreciate the English b-sides but everyone know the title tracks are always gonna be the center of attention after all its the title. The title eng tracks don't have to have be complex but they still need to be of music quality. The instrumentals are basic 70s funk beats. The b-sides on BE has more musc quality than the eng tracks. Good lyricality is must, lyricality doesn't mean complexity and deep. It just means good lyrics. I think people are overreacting cause yh its only been 3 comebacks but at the time its 3 comebacks they have released in a year. Armys set BTS at a standard and when Armies feel BTS haven't met those standards 3 times that can disappointing.

Idk why but I kinda got mad while watching the video, I mean, some of the opinions were okay but opinions about BP were mainly just hate. 0:58 I don't get why the trend now is to say that Blackpink is basic just because they're popular. I don't think saying their MVs are the same makes much sense since YG literally spends all the money on the MV and also the outfits are pretty different each era (except for Lisa's gloves lol). I kind of get the point of "the songs are all the same" coming from DDDD and KTL being quite similar but I disagree, it's nearly impossible to have a discography whose songs are the same. About the songs being almost all of them about love, I have to agree but I like that they're changing the meaning behind them. 1:42 I bet this is because of the Irene scandal, I think they're way exaggerating too much about it but I'm happy she's finally coming back with the rest of Red Velvet in August. 2:56 I feel this with orbits talking about Loona, I find it uncomfortable to assume their sexuality and I really don't care if they are lesbian or not, like why would I? 4:42 Okay, but why all the hate comments start with "not hate/I'm not hating"? Actually, they do know how to produce and write lyrics, even Jennie had a notebook with some songs written (but it was mysteriously stolen like if we didn't know who did) so I don't get the assumption there. About the fake thing, it's maybe because they don't have much comebacks and they don't appear in a lot of shows but that was not really necessary. 7:34 This one is problematic because it is literally saying that the idols need to know the basics of the language from the country they are visiting in a tour so international fans CAN SEE THEM PERFORMING. Do they know how many languages there are? And that America isn't all of the world, plus in America there are other languages, not just English. It's just nonsense, you're pretending to oblige an idol who will be TEMPORARILY there to learn basic English just because you are a fan and you want to see him/her. The idol isn't the one that has to adapt, it is you because there are a lot of fans from different countries, they don't have time for that and it's not really necessary for them. I get learning English does help but they don't need to know how to pronounce properly for you to understand what they are saying, that's what subtitles are for. Well, I wrote so much but I felt like I had to express my thoughts.

I agree with the one saying that we shouldn't say they're gay or bi, but i'd like to add straight. It's equally inappropriate to assume they're straight if they're not. And since they don't express themselves clearly about it, let's just not make assumptions and respect their personal lives whatever their sexual orientation might be. Also, for the one saying kpop idols should learn at least basic English, I 100% disagree. It's the american interviewer's job to make the artists they invite comfortable and not simply rely on "one of them knows English, that'll do it". Translators exist for a reason. Plus, it's easy for westerners to say that basic english is easy, but the way korean language (like japanese and probably other languages) works is "backward" compared to english, french, spanish, italian etc... For us, english is an easy language, but not necessarily for them

Like,,, it's grammys fault they don't want to nominate a non english song, sadly. So if they get another nomination it would be a "side effect" but not the main goal of the single i feel.

Why do people expect kpop idols to speak english, but don't expect western artists to learn languages of the countries they're promoting/touring in? Many western artists promote in other countries while only speaking in english. And about the 'they just say a couple words' part, western artists usually just say random words as well(if they even decide to say smth in a different language, which is rare).

Dynamite was made for a more global audience to get gp to listen to bts and to discover thr rest of bts's discography. That's it, not a group project, the fuck does kpop as a whole have to do with anything? This is bts's career, their music and their efforts, have a little respect for them and their hard work. Would you say this about any american celebrity? Or I guess Spanish speaking artists, though this last ones do suffer from this a little bit. They make the music for their careers and for people to discover their music, that's it. Jeez. Sorry for the rant but that phrase sounded so so off...

1. How about the interviews learn basic Korean or whatever language the idols feel comfortable speaking in. Since the interview is about the idols themselves the interviewer should accommodate so the idols can speak freely. 2. It’s really annoying when people say “no hate” then insult someone just say it. U cant use “it’s my opinion” to cover up an insult. “No hate but i think they’re fake” making an assumption without even knowing them it’s absolutely baffling.

I don’t know if they were only made to make more money in the American market, but BTS’s English songs don’t really have that BTS feel to them. The performances are still great, but they feel tailored to Americans and don’t have that same sound and quality that you’d expect from BTS. Don’t get me wrong, I like Butter and Dynamite but they pale in comparison to the rest of BTS’s discography and don’t feel like the same artist who made songs like ON or Life goes on, despite being made in generally the same time period. Butter and Dynamite feel kind of shallow to me compared to their other songs, even ones like ON and Life Goes On that were released recently as well.

I think Blackpink come off as fake to people who don't stan or follow them because YG markets them completely different to what they're actually like (e.g Jennie as this savage, confidence fashion lover when she's really just shy and insecure who wears Channel every now and then but doesn't really experiment/seem interested in fashion, Rosés 'hip' Pinterest soft girl vibe she has [which they literally only do because she can play the guitar] and Jisoo with this innocent, underdog, girl next door image.) They also don't seem to be particularly close, certain members do but as a group they don't seem to mesh and get along well which makes them come across as fake when they and YG force this 'close friends' narrative.
