Tom had a viral infection in his vocal cords due to a flu bug, he spks about it in a few interviews, it wasnt due to the way he sings or over use of his voice

FYI - his voice struggles were due to a vocal cord paresis.

I saw them in 88 the opening acts were badlands and a band called tangier, badlands were awesome, Tangier was pretty good too but I was super excited to see Cinderella but I gotta tell ya they were awful 🤨 you couldn't even understand Tom Kiefer. The worst concert I've ever been to ✌️

Yeah, Tom really struggled there for a while, but interesting that you saw them in 88 and he was not legible and this show in Moscow was in 89 and I thought he sounded pretty good.
