Hey, guys. Basically, it's a breakup song with the lead singer, Tom Kiefer, talking to his girlfriend. "I call you on the phone but never get a rise, so sit there all alone it's time you realize, I'm not your fool"..."you take your road...I'll take mine, the paths have both been beaten".... If you haven't already check out the entire album. Lots of great tunes...Shake Me...Somebody Save Me...Night Songs...just to name a few.

the video is part of a trilogy. This is the middle song of said trilogy. Shake Me is the first video and Somebody Save Me is the third. The story arc of the video makes a little more sense when you look at them that way. The videos from the next 2 albums aren't as story driven, but focus on how talented the band is. Truly one of the hidden gems of the hair metal era.

Jon Bon Jovi discovered Cinderella playing in a club in Philadelphia.He got them signed to a record deal on the same label as Bon Jovi was.In the video "Somebody Save Me.Jon BonJovi & Ritchie Sambora make a cameo Tom Keifer is the lead singer. The video kinda plays into the Disney "Cinderella" story

My mom got my sister and I and 2 friends out of school so we could go meet them at a record store and get their autograph. They were opening up for Bob Jovi in 86-87. We also went to their concert that night. Then in 2017 I saw Tom Kieffer by himself, he still jammed!!!

This was off their 1st album as their power ballad. Their 2nd album is when they took the more blues influence. If you guys have heard of Halestorm from the 2010's, the singer Lzzy Hale did and awesome cover of this song. I saw Cinderella live in 1989 and they were freakin awesome! And I saw the singer Tom Keifer solo live just a few months ago. He still rocks!

You guys nailed it - The tempo is a slight bit slower than Bringing On the Heartbreak by Def Leppard (1981) but this song came out in 1986 and clearly bit hard off of the Def Leppard Track. I love both songs. Grew up on this stuff in my Jr. & Sr. High School Years.

the two girls are the Evil Stepsister's she is Cinderella, when she looks at the clock, it's 11:55 so she runs home to get there before midnight, then she is transformed back in a common looking girl and goes back and he still knows who is. There are 3 of these video's that go together that has the evil stepsisters in them an Cinderella. I think the other two are in the songs Shake Me, & Somebody Save Me. These were kind of silly, maybe they were on a small budget back then, ha
@Pacrat86

Not much of a story in the videos but the girls that changed in the car were the "Evil Stepsisters" and the girl on the bed is Cinderella. The three were in at least one more video where they play those roles.

The video is a play on Cinderella the movie. But it's also takes off where the Shake Me video left off. the girls in the beginning are the evil step sisters, which explains it in the Shake Me video. They're going to the "ball" which is a Cinderella concert and Cinderella wants to go but can't so she ends up sneaking to the show and Tom (the singer) picks her out of a crowd and takes her into the show and backstage etc... But the song is about a breakup. After this they kinda went away from the "Cinderella Movie" storylines in their videos. Even back when these came out I thought it was a bit cheesy, but I'm sure for a band first starting out, the band had zero say in the video's. Probably more the manager and label ideas on how to market these guys. But I will say this, I've seen them in every decade they've been around and they were always one of the best live bands I've ever seen. And Tom is still out there killing it on the road.

Tom Keifer is a multi-instrument virtuoso as well as an excellent songwriter. It’s sad that he didn’t have the success that he deserved. He never liked being considered “Glam Metal” or “Hair Band”. He was straight Rock and Roll being marketed as the Hair Band genre of the day. Their record company was pushing him in places that he didn’t like and regretted. Their name he hated. The glammy clothes he hated. When you’re trying to make it in the music business you make some sacrifices in the name of paying your bills at the time.

really liked that whole era. Hair Metal. Or Glam Rock. Whatever they call it. So many power ballads. So much musicianship. It kept getting better until the record companies went to Grunge. It was still going strong. It's weird to see it now as a relic of the past. You watch Bill and Ted's and really thought rock would live forever.

the story meaning of the song is about how Tom Keifer the lead singer feels mistreated by the girl and he almost feels like the girl was using him for his money. right when it says I scream my heart out just to make a dime and with that dime I bought your love now I've changed my mind I'm not your fool the chorus hits. But anyways I listened to a interview on tom Keifer talking about how he wrote that song he apparently didn't write it for a specific person because he's been through heartbreak a few times but the video is basically talking about how Tom Keifer feels mistreated by the girl in the video other than that he's Nobody's Fool.

guys, you have to stop focusing on the video, it was the 80's, the music video was a new medium and every wanna be director was using this medium to showcase their 'talents' and new effects that were coming out at the time. Half the videos back then made no sense and had nothing to do with the storyline of the video. Focus on the music. You guys are doing a great job and I really enjoy your reviews.
