Over the past 2 or 3 years Patrizio has performed with Amira repeatedly. His voice is strong and he is very popular in Italy. I like the way he allowed her to dominate this duet znd by his reaction is clearly a strong fan of this angel.

An excellent reaction Queen. I was a woodwind player for many years but was never 'into' classical singing. The incredible 'Amira' and 'Jackie' changed all that for me too..

Amira and Jackie are both young, sweet and sing beautifully but the comparison stops there and you cant really compare their voices because they are different. i personally think though that Amiras' voice has more of an ability to stun people.

Any more, Amira has the ability to stun people with her voice. Jackie still does, but to people who have never heard of her. Amira continues to impress no matter what. As does Jackie but, Jackie's voice matured in a way that is more Classical Crossover than Opera and Amira's voice is just plain operatic.

I already am a fanatical Amira fan but this duet has also made me a Patrizio Buanne fan. This guy has it all, success, looks that make girls swoon and a beautiful voice and to top it all gets to sing duets with the girl who has the most beautiful voice on the planet. He has done other duets with her.

I also was cool towards opera prior to this girl and Jackie hitting me between the eyes (and ears). Since then I have discovered such beauty that I was missing. Amira & Jackie are top of my tree but I have also discovered the breath taking beauty of Anastasia Lee, Agne G, Faryl Smith, Patricia Janeckova and Sterre Van Boxtel plus many others. Then I listened and watched Alma Deutscher's full opera "Cinderella" and have been totally converted.

Alma Deutschers piano variations are very nice ... the tunes are similar late romantic ballads of the 19th century ... you can instantly feel that this extremly talented young lady admires Mozart ... but there is modern enchanting sonority and style like Rachmaninov, change of pace as composed by Strawinsky ... and the big ease of playing piano we know from Glenn Gould. There is another video of Amira singing O Sole Mio with E di Capua where a contest in this duet turns into "who can hold the note the longest" in Jan 2017 when she was just 13. Ed take advantage of her first, but then she turns the tables on him So poised and professional. A very entertaining performance.

Queen, this is actually a classic Neapolitan love song written in 1898. Close enough to Opera for most people. It's written in the Neapolitan dialect of Italian. Beautiful song performed by two incredible talents. Hard to believe that Amira was barely 12 years old at this time. Unlike many other people commenting on Amira's and Jackie singing Opera arias I was exposed to Opera when I was a very young child in all of its beauty and intricacies but as I grew older I grew away from it, kind of turned my back on it. Looking back on it now I guess I would have to blame that on the explosion of all kinds of music in the 1950s and 1960s that just about overwhelmed ones senses. Opera seemed old, stale and BORING. Now here I am, thanks to these two young girls, exploring the realm of opera caught up anew ,wondering why I ever turned my back on it. There's a performance on you tube titled. Amira Willighagen "la Donna e Mobile" and Funiculi Funicula. That is worth listening to. It's actually a dress rehearsal of a duet with Amira and an incredibly talented lyric tenor fro the Berlin Opera.The perform a two song medley of the opera aria from the opera Rigoletto by Verdi and another classic Neapolitan song, Funiculi Funicula written in 1880 by Luigi Denza to commemorate the opening of the first funicular cable car to the top of Mount Vesuvius. It is sung in an operatic style and was extremely popular at the time and remains so today. Anyway, Queen give a listen. Its just a dress rehearsal and the performance is recorded next to a speaker not directly from the mics but the audio is still quite good. The sheer beauty of the voices of Amira and Sonnyboy, (the wonderfully talented tenor) and the joy and pleasure they both exude in singing together is just wonderful to behold. I'm sure, in the end you will listen to it over and over. The other strong recommendation I made in another post, Nella Fantasia, which is one of Amira's best performances Dafydd offers a link for in his posting below. This is very much a kind of breakthrough performance for Amira. She demonstrates and incredible level of control of and subtle use of her vibrato along with a gorgeous development in the tone of her lower and middle range. In her final note you again will definitely hear the difference in the vocal quality between Amira's and Jackies voice. Jackies precise, simple soprano and Amira's very complex more operatic voice each very beautiful but very different.

This performance was part of Amira's debut on "Classics is Groot", in July 2016, in Pretoria, the capital of South Africa. She was 12 at the time. She "stole the show", and as a result, in November 2016, due to popular demand, she was invited back for 11 concerts (it was originally nine, but when it was announced that Amira would be on the program, they had to schedule two more). There is one video from these concerts, in which she sang "Nella Fantasia", by Morricone; it is probably the next one of her that you should react to. Her recording contract with Sony was expiring; so the organisers, Coleske Artists, grabbed the opportunity and she signed a new contract with them; the three YT performances - two of which you have seen - in 2017 are from the 2017 "Classics is Groot" concert. Since then, she has grown a lot, and her voice has developed a lot; the DVD from the 2018 performance is now out, but only a promo on YT as yet. Dafydd Llewellyn Today I received my package of the 2018 classic DVD and CD. Delivered in just 5 days of so with no damage to the cases, amazing improvement. The question I have for you is what is that last note Amira hits and holds at the end of Amigos Para Siempre, it was wild. Was it even above Eb6, I couldn't tell?

In the description they make the claim its with the permission of universal music which I find hard to believe. Who do we notify:-? Under each song it has. Various Artists- Topic and it has posted all 19 songs each as a separate entry.

A duet similar to this is 13 year old Solomia Lukyanets who sang Time to say goodbye on The Voice Kids UK after performing the same song earlier with famous the Russia soprano Aida Garifullina. Even though Solomia dressed like Shirley Temple she clearly impressed the glamorous Russian star. Both versions are on KZbin. Another delightful modern romantic European tune by Aida is when she sang Deja Vu with the late, great baritone Dmitry Hvorostovsky on KZbin. Sopranos love to sing with baritones because they know all the low notes will be handled.

Part of the fun of opera are the use of wild sets like the one used in the Metropolitan Opera production of Richard Wagner's The Walkure. The KZbin video entitled "Richard Wagner_Bryn Terfel: Magic fire_FeuerZaube_The Metropilitan Opera 2011 MET" is the final scene where the father of Walkure Princess surrounds his sleeping daughter with Magic Fire that can only be pierced by the most perfect knight in shining armor. The opera singer said that this scene was a really fun wild ride.

Queen of the North should watch 9 year old harmony singer Maisy Stella sing Ho Hey by the Lumineers and Ring of Fire with her older sister Lennon on KZbin Grand Ole Opry videos. They perform as Lennon and Maisy. Another brilliant version of Ring of Fire that really intrigues women is when bass singer Avi Kaplan of the Pentatonix sings Ring of fire with the Home Free Quintet that already has a powerful bass singer. The double bass effect is stunning.

It is fun to compare this soprano and tenor duet with a soprano and a baritone duet like the KZbin video entitled Aida Garifullina & Dmitri Hvorostovsky Deja Vu (Igor Krutoy). Female duets with a soprano and a lower register mezzo soprano are also fun to watch like the famous Abendsegen which is found on KZbin under that name sung by soprano Anja Harteros and mezzo soprano Elena Garanca.

I think this is the best cover of that iconic Queen song I have ever heard. Not only a phenomenal singer but he manages to capture the stage presence of Freddy also.
