You're not going to get it because you don't have to deal with the hormone. The fact that men don't walk around responding to that hormone (urge) everytime is us Exercising Self Control. There is no switch on our side we can flip to turn off. The URGE isn't lack of self control. It's what we do with it. Which is what he was talking about at the end, men learning to master that force that naturally drives us to want sex. We spend our time learning about stuff that doesn't matter instead of mastering what can take everything we have. What tools do we use mentally and physically to prevent that.

Bill is so correct here. I have met many average looking guys in my life who have tons of women around them because they have money. One guy told me that he had liked a girl in high school for years but she never even looked his way. But that all changed when he earned some great money in a lawsuit. She found out where he lived and she did everything possible to get him.

That doesn't happen for guys in general unless they are good looking or have cash. It's easier to have self-control when you have the pick of the litter being a woman than getting an opportunity to have sex once every blue moon. Not blaming women for this btw. The majority of you are just more in demand to us men than the majority of us is to you. These male urges to "bang 85% of women in the room" is what kept our species alive in large part, but in modern society it doesn't seem to work out as well. On Tinder apparently 1% of attractive men hoover up 80% of female attention. Average guys get zero attention and they become bitter and even misogynistic at times. Partly also, because women have gotten equal rights and aren't strong armed into marriage due to social and economic inequality like previously in history.

It is true, but he's not conflating lack of self-control and impulses. For example, if you want to know why guys look at other women it's because of that impulse, yet men will have self-control when it's not appropriate to act on that impulse. When you are rich and famous, and you may not consider it inappropriate to act on your impulses, you might just act on those impulses as many male celebrities do. Biologically speaking, Bill Burr is 100% correct on this.

I think it's kind of funny when women talk about how intense their emotions can be, and how wildly they'll swing during periods, or pregnancy. But usually it's a cyclical thing they can track and prepare for. As a guy, particularly when I was younger, it was like at any given moment I wanted to f*ck, fight or fix something, and that could turn on a dime. It was *brutal* as a teen, I don't think they prepare boys for that. Even now, while it's less frequent and less intense, and I have the experience of age, it's still not fun, ha ha.

I've seen people react to this a bunch of times and women often have the same "it's kinda hard to believe" reaction as you did. As a guy I would say the way he describes it is pretty accurate, and it would benefit society and relationships between people if women understand this too. Of course Bill exaggerates things for comedic effect. It's not like a voice in your mind, not like there is no self control. Men who are not psychopaths wouldn't want to force things with an unwilling woman, and they are normally faithful. @@KafeteriaFood Indeed, it is a precarious logic pathway to follow as it could also be used to say drug cartels cannot sell drugs if no one is willing to purchase them. There is truth but it should not deter us from still recognizing the source as a problem. It also should be brought up that while for humor Bill did focus mostly on married men for this bit the issue of women using sex to take large sums of money from single men who are perhaps just lonely and more willing to believe or hope the love is real is also a concern stemming from the 'gold digger' issue. As Bill mentioned at the end, I feel that is the real world item I believe he is trying to bring to light through humor. As he said, "why was only he chastised, why was she only called the maid"? He is speaking to a concern that as a society we tend to immediately look to the woman as the victim and scapegoat the man. This is something that seems to be changing more in recent times and that is a good thing but I think Bill still did a nice job shedding light on the concern.

Like others have said in the comments here , it's not that you have no control. It's just really f'n hard as soon as hormones hit during puberty. It's like if you handed the leash of a big hungry dog to a 7 yr old and watched the poor bastard get dragged across the park yelling for it to stop or stay. As the kid gets older the strength difference widens and you learn new tricks and commands to make the dog stay. The dog is still hungry ALOT of the time though. If you put a nice big steak in front of the dog sure it would listen after all that training , but trust me that dog is just waiting to be given the go ahead to eat it. It didn't magically stop being hungry because you said sit and stay. Obviously not every guy's sex drive is the same , but for a lot of em thats pretty much the case. If a guy says " I couldn't help it" or " I had no control over it " they're a lying POS like 99.7% of the time. Just like some women though guys can have just too high of a sex drive , which tbh isn't your problem and more of a lack of responsibility in getting themselves to a doctor...ect for help. For the other 99.7% they just haven't put in enough effort to tame it. For the first 4-6yrs after puberty hits you just can't trust the words coming out of a guys mouth unless you know for a fact his libido is decently low for a guy. It's like how torture is ineffective in getting the truth , they'll say anything to make it stop.

An interesting thing I heard someone say a few weeks ago.. when someone is trans.. and they start off as a woman.. and they transition into a man.. they say that masturbation is optional. As a woman, it was something they did occasionally, but it's wasn't a big priority for them. Once they transitioned and got on the hormones.. it became something they had to do everyday, just to feel sane or normal or at baseline. Yes. Having a dick is crazy because the male sex drive is so easily triggered and it is very insistent. It dulls our ability to think clearly and make smart rational choices. There is some self control still, but when a man is aroused, his instincts and body are screaming at him to take whatever action or say whatever he needs to in order to seduce a partner into having sex as soon as possible. Its so frustrating to deal with. Especially for men that are not considered fuckable, masturbation is an effective outlet for most but it must be done at least once per day.. and for some, it requires 2-3 times per day. Just to regulate and be fully sane. Post-nut clarity is not a joke or a myth, it is a very real condition. Once a man orgasms, it clears their minds and they can focus for a while far better than they can normally.

A mans sexual urges is like being starving and women are juicy steak. If you have ever gone without food for a while then surround yourself with really delicious food its going to be hard to resist. You will have that urge to just dig in and eat as much as you can. With men that urge simply doesn't go away until you indulge it and the longer you go without the louder that voice gets. I remember going a month without sex or masturbating, and I no joke started following some random girl with a nice butt at a Walmart. I wasn't even paying attention that much to what was going on too busy thinking about what to get for lunch while the lizard part of my brain was like yes I like. She eventually noticed that I was following her and luckily I diffused the situation. She was playful about it. Lucky for me that could have ended very badly for me just because I wasn't really paying attention to what I was doing. Unfortunately a lot of women misinterpret or simply don't understand mens sex drive. Lots of guys might not even notice there own behavior and aren't trying to be creeps. Not enough credit is given to hormones of men. We are constantly being pumped full of one of the most potent hormones in nature called testosterone. It makes you stronger and faster, but also extremely aggressive and horny. I remember hitting puberty and suddenly I was angry all the time and couldn't think straight half the time. I wanted to beat people up for just looking at me the wrong way. I had no clue why I was feeling that way at the time, but it was testosterone from hitting puberty. This certainly doesn't excuse the bad behavior it might induce, but I do think that people need to be more understanding of why men might behave the way they do. Gotta stay vigilant and constantly exercise willpower, discipline, and restraint. Its probably why having a father is so important especially if you have boys. He can help them understand what they go through and build the proper respect and discipline required to be a good person. Its possibly why so many fatherless boys grow up to be criminals. They never learned to cope with it properly.

When it comes to being a guy, I think it depends on culture probably. Personally I crushed on a lot of girls cuz there were a lot of pretty ones, but as a result, I learned to look past their looks and look for personality over looks. I do the same when shopping. Anything can look shiny but how they were made or raised matters a lot. A pretty girl is the shittest girl in the world when they know they're pretty and sleep around or think you're inferior because you're a man and they're a queen. As you know, a lot of guys esp at youth age and up, start to have issues dealing with women cuz they may not be used to dealing or flirting with women so they do 'stupid stunts' because they got nervous and/or they're trying to appeal/flirt with a girl. There's been a strange uprising trend of men who are helpless and stupid and unfunny in tv shows and movies. If you don't see what I'm seeing then you are blind.
