I usually don't have much luck and still trying to figure things out. My second season into fly fishing and still bounce back and forth. This is my 3rd season I been getting out regularly. I went once before in 2010 but it was a miserable experience. October 27th my cousin, girlfriend and I went out to the legion hole. No one around seemed to be catching any. There were a few stranglers coming by from downstream and upstream with some. I actually stood and watched with no rod and bounced between my gf and cousin for about an hour with no action. We went upstream not far when i decided to go set up my rod. Just when the lady was starting to complain about getting cold and not getting any action, I started seeing some. They ended up hitting a size 16 bead head prince nymph and royal wulf on 3x leader. I ended up taking a couple home and lost a few. My first time on a fly rod and what a difference from the spinning rod. I was equally excited the knots held up on my homemade tapered leader.
