Great reaction! I love watching people listen to Let it Happen - such an amazing track

It's an entire showcase of Kevin's versatility. Everything happening before, around and after the bridge is so epic and complex.

100% it all just clicked on the first listen. I can't wrap my head around how he was able to pull this off.

Yes I’m Changing is such an important song to me. It’s a song you could play whenever you feel as if you’re running out of time, just understand that you have a whole life waiting for you, and to take it slow. ❤

First time coming across you my guy; and I'm impressed by the nuance and attention to detail you bring when orating both the smaller details in the production that pop out at you and the broader significance of the individual songs. Also, finally there's someone out there that knows how to balance their music and microphone levels. Kudos.
@D1Horus2 жыл бұрын
My only gripe with the mixing, which is near perfect, but where I can see the last stretch improvement would be playing around with EQ-ing up the bass frequencies around 2-4db and bringing up the volume 5-10% in the music mix. My main reasoning for this is that, yes, both you and the vocals are heard clearly when played simultaneously, but there is a noticeable reduction of impact in moments of songs which could affect the immersion of the audience in the music. Excuse my borderline ADD.

Thank you for this feedback! There are a lot of thoughts I have on the music that I listen to and I feel like I overshare with my friends. This has been a great outlet for those thoughts. I am still doing what I can to balance out the mix and will take your recommendations for future videos! I really appreciate your thoughts and feedback!

Currents changed my life and I consider the first time I heard Let it Happen as a turning point in my life. It made me consider music in a completely different way, moving from straightforward radio hits to viewing it as a medium that can be used for something more than mind numbing entertainment (idc if that’s pretentious 😂). I’m so grateful to Kevin for that. And watching them live, especially Let it Happen, but also the whole set, will be a core memory for me. All that said. Amazing reaction, you caught things that took me 10 listens to catch. Subscribed!
@lusciousluie2 жыл бұрын
Not pretentious at all! There are many ways to consume media, music in particular. Some people just listen to the radio hits and they are perfectly fine staying on the surface level. But music can absolutely be so much deeper and it's unfortunate that so much music goes unheard because of the structure of the music industry.

Reality in Motion is my favorite Tame Impala song, but in a lot of album reviews I've seen people seem to be generally underwhelmed by the song by the time they hit that late in the album. Super happy to see it getting some deserved love!

Great Vid man. My personal favourite album (probably of all time) is "Lonerism" by Tame Impala. Changed my life. Would love to see a vid on that!

Lonerism has to be your next listen. Without a doubt Kevin’s best album. Currents and the Slow Rush are a departure from his psychedelic rock roots.

Hey Luie, hope you're doing well. I have a request that's likely to be an interesting listen for you; "The Girl, the Cat and the Tree" by LAUSSE THE CAT. It's a short and concise UK rap album about the experience and consequences of falling into addictive behaviours such as drinking and sex as a young adult in the UK. In my eyes this debut and only album is a hidden gem which due to it's interesting, musical theatre-esque style of story-telling has secured Lausse an appreciative following to this day. If you're curious and want a sample I'd recommend having a listen to Redstripe Rhapsody. Stay healthy

Tame Impala has put out a lot of amazing music, but this album I think is, so far, Kevin Parker's crowning achievement. Everything on this album is firing on all cylinders including some of the best production/mixing of any music of the era. And its arguably a concept album as well with a narrative arc, at least through the first 8 tracks.

Great Reaction! Really love your observations and detailed descriptions. You should really check out Innerspeaker and Lonerism which are in my opionen better rock albums. It will also show you how Currents is a very different album from the two in terms of genre. It took me a relatively long time to accept Kevin Parkers change en genre/style, as Innespeaker and Lonerism are psych-rock masterpieces, and suddenly he presents this "pop" album. But after multiple listens i can now appreciate it almost as much as the two first albums.
