If you like this try the live 1994 Pulse tour performance. The last solo is way longer and more complex. The stage lighting also kicks it up another notch.

Great choice Ari, one of the very best songs from one of the very best bands of the Rock era. Now that you have turned onto Floyd you need to see this at the 1994 Pulse Concert. It is one of the best performances ever, David Gilmour unleashes one of the greatest guitar solos ever and the light show is amazing. Do watch the video and have your headphones ready! Also do the studio Time, it will make you think in a profound way Thanks and Enjoy! Rock On! 🎸

Led Zeppelin is one of my all-time favorite bands and right up there with them is Pink Floyd so whoever said you wouldn’t like one because you like the other is out of their minds! And practically everything that Pink Floyd did will put you in another zone, enjoy the ride!!!👌🎵🎶✌️😁

That was David Gilmour on guitar, arguably one of the greatest. He definitely makes the guitar sing. If you want another vibe song check out Shine On You Crazy Diamond. It’s a tribute to one of the founding members of Pink Floyd, Syd Barrett who left the band due to his mental issues back in the late 60s. The song is amazing and it will definitely take you to another world 😜

Pink floyd is an experience always, this song just cuts so deep to the raw emotional experience, that is what they do they cut through the bullshit to give you another dimension in quadraphonic space, they are such a special band, down to earth, who want you to go beyond their individual personality to have an experience and enjoy the music not the personality but the deeper issues that humanity faces.
@vicprovost25612 жыл бұрын
Also, Pink Floyd had a run of albums, like Led Zeppelin, from Meddle through The Wall, that need to be heard in their entirety when you can. My top 3 rock guitarists are Jimi Hendrix, David Gilmour and Jimmy Page. They put you into an alternate reality that is often very emotional and intense, as you explore their music you will find out. Try studio Time, Welcome to the Machine and Echoes, they will blow your mind! Also the live version of Echoes in Pompeii in 1972 is beyond belief, you will be as exhilarated like when you watch live Zeppelin. Damn girl, you look great and so nice to see you again, have a nice weekend and think Spring! 😊

The great thing about Pink Floyd reactions is we can watch you pick any one song and we'll know at the end of you're made for Floyd. You need to go down that rabbit hole. Be prepared though, you'll look at music so much differently when you see what they've done
@jonhenke15042 жыл бұрын
David Gilmour is the lead singer guitarist you just heard. His wife says that when they argue or even have a discussion she uses words and he uses his guitar because it's so emotional and he can actually make it sing! If you like the sound of that guitar simply do the song "Time" from Pink Floyd's album "Dark Side of the Moon"! With Floyd the music is always deep and the lyrics are as well! And I've always said Pink Floyd makes you feel like you're floating through space and Zeppelin makes you feel like you can tear a phonebook in half! Number one and two in no particular order!!

To name but a few of great guitar solos from the Pulse concert held at Earl's Court London in 1994 are " Sorrow" High hopes" Comfortably Numb" Keep talking" Coming back to Life" Echoes Live at Pompeii part's 1&2, and The Turning Away live at DTOS. It will blow your mind and senses including the best light shows of all time enjoy.🇬🇧🤗🤗🤗🤗

Pink Floyd is... is... is different. They are genre nonspecific and heavily influenced by the Blues and Jazz. Just leave your preconceived notions and expectations of popular music at the door, sit back, and enjoy the ride. Pink Floyd didn't make three minute songs for radio play. They made theme albums where each track is part of a whole and is intended to be listened to together. You can appreciate each song individually of course, but the real experience is consuming the whole album at once. This was from the album 'The Wall', but I would recommend you start with 'Dark Side of the Moon' as an initiation. Great reaction! Send more PF!

Well well...I don't imagine that I'll forget the first time that I heard this track, seeing as I still can remember it 42 years later (and that was on an AM radio station, so I didn't even hear it in stereo at the first go) David Gilmour is just a singular soloist and, from both him and the band, there's plenty more where this came from ---you might find it worthwhile to go track by track with the three indispensable albums that preceded The Wall (The Dark Side of the Moon from 1973; Wish You Were Here from '75,; and Animals from '77) It's all right there for ya, and indeed the live PULSE version of "Numb" that so many others have rec'd is must viewing (and the absolute monster solo at the end in fact got edited down by nearly two minutes for the commercial release) So anyway, welcome to the wondrous world of PF ---it's guaranteed to pay back with interest any time and energy that you choose to devote to it; enjoy!

Another great "chill" song by Pink Floyd is their little known title "San Tropez". No where near as great as Comfortably Numb but its a very relaxing Jazz-pop piece to soothe the stressful soul. YAY, another soul that feels the vibe of Pink Floyd!! Hope you go down the rabbit hole. You could literally find your favorite Pink Floyd song on the 30th song you listen to. So much brilliance- and, since you mentioned suggestions, if you like this Pink Floyd Vibe, I think you would dig Aurora- Not really like Pink Floyd at all but the only other artist that I had a hard time explaining how it was making me feel. Great Vibe- I would say start with Runaway and then if you like, go from there. She is 25 now, wrote Runaway when she was 11 I believe. Her performance live, here, she is 19 I think- kzbin.info/www/bejne/fJSaiYqNlKqbmJph And then, if you love that song, I would recommend another artist, a young lady all of 15, who does an amazing cover of this song. I mean, no one can do what Aurora does, but her interpretation is excellent. Her name is Daneliya Tuleshova and she won The Voice: Kids Ukraine when she was only 10. Her blind audition was a cover of Demi Lovato's Stone Cold- She has many excellent covers but I always recommend Runaway, Lady Gaga's Shallow and then Birdy's Not About Angels- and lastly, Postmodern Jukebox featuring Haley Reinhart covering Radioheads Creep. She SLAYS it- Enjoy the journey, it is great how much you love good music!

Pink Floyd albums are meant to be heard as a whole, in one take. Each has a story and you are missing it as you missed the point in this one, there is nothing chill about being comfortably numb, it's desperate. But, if you are going to dissect it and take it for its sheer musical value, then yes, listen to PULSE. And speaking of journeys, ascending and travelling in another space, then Shine on You Crazy Diamond and Great Gig are just right for you.

Don't listen to live versions of PF songs like everyone in the comments is recommending. You should always listen to studio releases first, and not listen to the live versions until you're more familiar with the songs. They are better quality and the best representation of the song for new listeners. People who recommend the live versions mistakenly think that new listeners are at the same place in the journey as them. Enjoy.
