Another favorite of mine... this video was so much fun to make! Many people had heard this from Guitar Hero or sporting events previously, but had never sat down and really listened to it nor saw the video. Others had never heard of it at all. I didn't really notice anything new in the process of making this video, but as always, I got to know the song on an intimate level which always makes me appreciate it even more. It also brings back so many memories! I was 15-16 when this came out! I highly recommend: Massive Attack - Teardrop: kzbin.info/www/bejne/ipOTfnZmn6upbK8 I hope you all are doing well!

@@JeffMartinEquinox Thank you so much! I did keep track on the Journey video I made and it turned out to take about 34 hours. They vary greatly. The Comfortably Numb video and the Peart drum solo were probably the two most time consuming. Also difficult because of my love and respect for the artists. Free Bird was probably up there with those two as well. lol It takes some time, for sure, but I quite enjoy the process even though parts of it are quite tedious. I just stay focused on the fact I will actually have something pretty cool to show for all the work. I'm still shocked how much others like them! When I was in High School, I worked at a radio station when this song came out. Most songs get airplay, become popular, sell records which works their way up the charts. This record came with instructions to play it, but don’t report it. So even though people were hearing it, it didn’t exist according to the charts. That way, once it was finally reported, it shot straight to the top of the charts much quicker than most other songs. This caused a lot of additional press, which exposed even more people to the band and drove sales even further. Also, it was a great album, but their release strategy certainly helped the popularity.

Some history for all you young people: Rock was dying when this came out. We had hair bands and it had all become boring and big joke. Then this band came out. It was still rock, but it was new and flavorful and raw and different. I think they only had really the one album. But they set the stage for grunge and various flavors of heavy metal that had been underground to that point. They also set the stage for a fork in the road where one led to alternative rock, which allowed for many, many female artists like Tori Amos and many others. Guns N Roses was definitely a turning point.
