I believe this piece (co-directed by Dimash) reflects how much Dimash has been affected by the turmoil the world is going through-it is a prayer for the entire world, not just his nation. We know he has personal experience of the trauma caused by CoVid-Kazakhstan has been hit hard and a couple of mentors special to Dimash have died of the disease. He commented somewhat bitterly about what some complained was an ostentatious firework display marking a public holiday to honor the capitol city- "Fireworks in honour of what?" the star wrote on his Instagram page with 3.3 million followers. "In honour of taking the first place for coronavirus cases?"" I believe that is the significance of the death of the piano player in the video, and in the images of blood and burning as the music grows in intensity. It is a memorial and homage to his teachers and a prayer for peace in the world amidst the turmoil of violence and death. And in the images of Dimash burning, I see an element of self-sacrifice in his prayer. But the chord change at the end into a major key, and the color changes from a muted gray palette to peaceful greens evokes a feeling of hope for the world. It is a masterpiece.

Hello. From Brazil. A simply striking video that took me to a deep reflection. I cried a lot the first time I saw it and I always get emotional when I see it again. We had extra information on Facebook groups: NARRATION: Iisbek Abilmazhinov "The Great Steppe. I praise its rich lands. Altai and Atyrau, Zhaiyk and Ili, Alatau and Saryayka: what extensions of my land have witnessed my happy years! I refer to the Great Steppe, the golden cradle of the Turkish world. Hey, silent world! Do not hold your breath You have descendants that never lasted and were never separated during fierce disputes and confrontations. This land has an owner, a kind character and a generous soul that could not spoil or break this changing world with its distorted values. The Great Steppe has a guardian spirit, unknown to a stranger, incomprehensible to a stranger. " Information about the creation of this clip and it is very interesting. In essence, the song “Qairan Elim” is like a prayer in which Dimash shares his personal experiences, his anxiety about the fate of his homeland and the whole world. The idea was largely influenced by the coronavirus epidemic, which affected humanity and claimed millions of lives worldwide. “The song“ Qairan Elim ”is a message and an appeal to all people to have good and positive thoughts. The belief that we will surely overcome everything and face all diseases. The main thing is to believe and stay strong ", said Renat Gaissin and Dimash. The melody of the song reached composer Renat Gaissin one morning in early July, in a recording studio, during a break between recordings, while watching the news. With each news read, the composer's feelings became more and more unbearable: they, like the reports of the war, were filled with information about the number of new people infected and killed by the coronavirus. And, as if I had a sad story in my head, the theme song started to sound clearer and clearer ... Taking the phone out of his ears, Renat walked over to his musical instrument and started playing a melody that suddenly, like A flash came to his mind A few minutes later, Dimash approached Renat and asked him to play again. After hearing the melody from start to finish, the deeply impressed performer said that he really wanted to sing it. The melody was shown to the sound producer, Yerlan Bekchurin, and he wrote an arrangement for it. From that moment on, work on music began. “Since ancient times, Kobyz has been a sacred instrument that reflects people's souls. Renat Gaisin's song “Qairan Elim” was born during our visit to Almaty. In writing the song, we all try to understand the whole idea of the song. At the request of the author and Dimash, we started recording kobyz. I started to improvise on the instrument and at the end, during the recording, something really beautiful and magical came out. I was very impressed with the project. This is a great creative experience for me. I hope that all listeners like the music ”- said the kobyzista Olzhas Kurmanbek. The video was filmed in picturesque locations in the Almaty region. The directors were Dimash himself and cameraman Azamat Dulatov. Nellie Nurasheva was the stylist for the video, the clothes were provided by the famous Kazakhstani stylist Ainur Turisbek. Director: Dimash Kudaibergen & Azamat Dulatov Producer and Project Manager: Papa Kanat Aitbayev Music: Renat Gaissin Lyrics: Daniyar Aldabergen & Oral Baisengir Arrangements: Yerlan Bekchurin Narration: Iisbek Abilmazhinov Mixed and Mastered: Yerlan Bekchurin at “DimashAli Studio”,

Excellent reaction. The song and video are very symbolic. I have watched this video probably 50 times, and while you were giving your response I still got chill bumps down to my knees. It is so beautiful and your words are so intelligent and on point. You get it. Dimash has had friends die from covid19 and his country has suffered. You will probably hear more about this from informed Dears. ♡

Dimash is praying for his homeland.. this is Kasachstan, but also the whole world... where are we now, where do we come from, what is happening now.. in the whole world.. what have we done..we have to change..through a burning into a purification.. and probably, surely? there will be again light, a new land... WOW. What a spititual dimension. Dimash is a messenger, and a master of all voices and hearts, we all know that.. there is gratitude that we can listen and watch him singing and now also as a director... Masterpiece

A wonderful reaction and a very good interpretation ! Thank you so much ! For me: Qairan Elim - very symbolic images in this film, referring to Dimash's homeland - Kazakhstan. My interpretation this prayer is as follows: - the beginning (fragment of the movie "The Legend of Tomiris" - the war of the Kazakh ancestors with King Cyrus) - refers to the uprising and the fight for the Dimash's motherland; - eagle (refers to the flag of Kazakhstan - the eagle is a symbol of state power; here in the film it is static - it is an observer; it is difficult to judge the power of the state); - wolf (Kazakhs are called descendants of the blue wolf and it's related to the history of Dimash's homeland), - kobyz (ancient, sacred instrument of a shaman or spiritual medic. According to legend, the music of the kobyz chases away evil spirits, diseases and death) - in the film, the sound of kobyz is wonderful and moving for me; - black and white spaces in the film (a reference to the sun on the national flag of Kazakhstan, which means the source of energy and life, harmony.. There is no such thing - the images are almost black and white; this is the situation seen through the eyes of the song's author); - fire - symbolizes the protection of a rich land (Kazakhstan) and its legacy for future generations (related to the history of Dimash's homeland); - blood, water, death, lightning (fight, sacrifice, suffering, life and death for the motherland).. The Qairan Elim is a singing full of sorrow, pain, regret and despair Dimash's singing with a hint of hope ... Earth stained with blood, fire and pain ... This is Dimash's strong prayer for his homeland and for us. Everyone can relate the words of this prayer to their holy land and interpret the video in their own way ... Generally Dimash makes us reflect, stop in this rush of life, to analyze what is happening around us..Stay safe and healthy ! Greetings !

I cannot experience this video without being swept away with emotion. Understand please, Kazakhstan has been a land of peace for quite some time = after the time of the Khans and their conquests. They have been a nomadic and peaceful people, who follow the seasons of grasses that feed their horses, and their peoples. Then comes a Russian Czar who has taken over their world, and who demands the young men of the grasslands pick up arms they know nothing about to fight against 'enemies' they know nothing of, to die for a Czar they have no knowledge of nor loyalty to. The screeching Golden Eagle you hear belling the sky is the great hunter that Kazakhs train to kill prey they use to feed their people. The neighing horses you hear are steeds that Kazakhs depend on for transport and nourishment. who are terrified of battle sounds they have never experienced before. This entire venture is brutal, real, and gut-wrenching.

The instrument is a kobys. It was used in the live stream from Dimash’s home studio for the Tokyo jazz festival, during lockdown. The song is called Samaltau about a young man being forced to leave his aged parents To go and fight in the First World War. He worries that his parents can’t manage without him. It’s a beautiful song too.

This is the Prayer for his homeland, the humanity and our earth ... a masterpiece. We live in dark times. Lots of wars, hunger, suffering, pandemics. (Dimash lost two of his mentors by covid19) ... The bleeding Kobyz-player and the dying pianist (composer) are victims in this dark time. Dimash is the burning soul of a musician and he burns for us humans ... and there is hope. When humanity overcomes the rocks together, the sun rises and everything shines in bright colors. A new day is dawning ... a new beginning.
