I just subscribed because I watched your 3 Disturbed reactions. I found them heartfelt and insightful. I went down the Disturbed rabbit hole when I saw the official video of Sound of Silence shortly after everything shut down in 2020. I’m very eclectic in my music taste from 60s rock through 2000s. I also enjoy their heavy metal songs. All their lyrics have deep and thoughtful messages. Lead singer David Draiman has been with the band since 1995. In his youth he was a trained Jewish Cantor, as his father and grandfather before him. His brother is an opera singer. He has no tattoos like his band mates, because his religion doesn’t allow them, and he’s close to his family. He recently openly talked about being in a dark place in February, and fighting thoughts of suicide. I think his marriage ended. They just released a new album and there’s a powerful song featuring Ann Wilson of Heart. It’s really awesome! So, this 74 year old grandma is now following your posts!

Maria, Thanks so much for doing this reaction to this emotional song. This information is available on the internet: This song about addiction originated from an idea that guitarist Dan Donegan came up with, which he sent the demo, to front man David Draiman. David had seen a number of people he cares about be a victim of addiction issues so Dan Donegan's demo moved him very much. Dan stated, we wanted to write a song with a positive message for people in that fight, as challenging as it may be, it's an everyday struggle, but there can also be a light at the end of the tunnel. Disturbed band members now: David Draiman- Lead Vocalist, Dan Donegan- Lead Guitar, Mike Wengren- Drums, John Moyer- Bass Guitar Thanks so much, Maria, for doing my song donation request of Disturbed's amazing song of hope, and not to give up the fight. God Bless You and Your Family, and Your Kitty Family as well, Peace & Love, Tom, from Indiana

A song about depression and addiction, pure and simple. The demon is drugs, alcohol or depression.

Just subscribed after your disturbeds reactions, I found them very insightful. I would suggest checking out "the light" a touch heavier but the message is just amazing as well. Also there is a official live version of "a reason to fight" which really breaks your heart xx

Thank you for this amazing reaction. I actually covered this song on my own personal channel because, even though it was written about alcohol and drug addictions, I suffer from an eating disorder and have these feelings all the time. Love your reactions. If you want a really powerful song that will hit you in the feels, watch their video The Light.
