They visualized this as a follow up to Warriors. Still together, lost a couple of partners, gained a couple of new ones... still moving on. I love the way they reversed the central meaning: originally this was a cry of rebellion, don't stop, move on, move forward. From VP there's maturity and sadness, a recognition that "the past is gone" (rather than in the original, when it felt like an admonition to not look back, keep going). Both are legit ways to interpret the words and music - I love that VP took it in a new direction.

Layne is a beatboxer extraordinaire ! He also has a wonderful singing voice. J None left to sing with the Military (5 year commitment) and sings with the group when in town or nearby. Everyone i the group has amazing talent singing and beyond. VP states they do not do karaoke . If they have nothing to offer a song they pass.

I understand the lack of love for hearing the same songs over and over again, especially when you've been hearing them for the last 20 or 30 years like I have!😅 One of the things I love about VoicePlay is their ability to make a tired old song new and fun again. I haven't listened to music on the radio in about ten years. Now after hearing VoicePlay sing a song I sometimes will go back and listen to a song they've done and I can appreciate it a little better.

A tip when you’re listening to Voiceplay: NEVER assume when the screen goes dark that this is the end. Until you see the patron names, there might be more. My understanding is they view this as a sequel to Warriors, which was also-post-apocalyptic. I look forward to seeing more reactions by you guys!! Speaking of songs that got a LOT of repetition on the radio in the mid-1970’s, do you remember Hooked On A Feeling (the Ooga Chaka song)? Cuz The Bass Gang just dropped a cover, featuring Tim Foust. It’s a riot!

VoicePlay has done a post-apocalyptic trilogy over 3 yrs. Check out Warriors (Imagine Dragons), Dream On you did today, then Seven Nation Army (White Stripes). Warriors was done in an old factory, Dream On done in Eli's old delapidated high school, Seven Nation Army in an abandoned mall store.

Yes it's Card O na not Car donna. Onar's brother is EJ Cardona who sings with them in I Can't Make You Love Me. This post apocalyptic look is a follow on to their previous Warrirors as you say. Sor of Warriors Part 2. Warriors was the one in which we saw Layne and Cesar playing violin. The last coupld of years have seen changes as you say.Earl left i for personal reasons, unstated, and then J.None was approached by the US Navy to sing with their music section. This was followed quickly by Cesar joining as a full time member. He's been a brilliant addition. Fans hope that J.None can return when his time with the navy is done but in the meantime he is available as a featured singer when on leave.
