in case you didn't know about their background story, dreamcatcher was born from a failed group called minx which consisted of 5 dreamcatcher members. they were on the verge of completely disbanding but the company ceo saw that they could pull off any genre of music so he rolled the dice to redebut them as dreamcatcher. for a small company like happyface which right now it's pretty much only dreamcatcher bringing in money, this could have bankrupted them. what kept them going was a core of extremely dedicated fans(nearly all their fans are international) that grew slowly step by step. this is why many of dreamcatcher's lyrics are about never giving up on your dreams, hence the dual meaning of dreamcatcher - the nightmare warding talisman and to 'catch' your dreams. all their ballads are also dedicated and about their fans. the theme changed for the dystopia series which addressed the online 'dystopia' of social media. scream/boca are about internet hate. odd eye is about all the lies and falsehoods that exists in social media and how it can disillusion people , causing them to view reality with a false 'odd eye'. the mv is crazy but if you watch it with this in mind, it should all make sense.

Their company was established by the duo who wrote Girl's Generation's Gee so they had connections and respect within the industry. They had some success with their gg DalShabet and hoped Minx would carry the momentum. When they redebuted their ceo said that they were going all in with Dreamcatcher and if he failed to make DC succeed he would sell the company and open a cucumber farm. So yes, they are 100% committed to Dreamcatcher :D

Altar call for subscriptions, LOL!!!! I agree that some of these small companies are doing it right for their flagship or only groups right out of the gate - Happy Face with Dreamcatcher, KQ with ATEEZ, cre.ker with The Boyz, E Entertainment with E'Last. I think with how increasingly competitive the industry is, they have to adopt the equivalent of dress for success or dress for the job you want, not the one you have. So basically act, look and sound like a hugely successful group from debut and people will be drawn to that and it'll become a self-fulfilling prophecy.

I also said this earlier today when I was talking to someone else about this comeback. We were basically sharing our opinions about it and also how well kinda mad we are that they have still not won a single award. People are seriously sleeping on them. There are some who are starting to wake up but when it comes to streaming and voting it's like where is everyone? But it's okay. I'm certain that we will at some point get that win that we've been waiting for. I really wish it would be for this comeback though, because they just literally came back harder than ever.
