I think the b-side that you'll like are: 1.whistle, 2. new days(one of dami self written composed song), 3.tension, 4mayday,(tension and mayday are a must to know for dc concert) for dc solo I think you'll enjoy dami solo"beautiful" as well since its really your vibes. and since you love siyeon solo I think you'll love her previous solo 'paradise' too. paradise are siyeon feeling about 'minx day'

Probably already been mentioned, but our Queen Sua did the choreo for this song! She's done a few, which you can usually pick out by how handsy they are or how much floorwork there is. Jiu/Sua/Yoohyeon's Taki Taki dance cover is maybe the most infamous example lol. I'm not sure what a red sun means in Korean culture, but I know whenever it comes up in anime, it usually represents some kind of hypnosis and/or some inevitable doom, both of which kinda work for the lyrics but the former probably more so. Seductive is definitely the word I've heard used the most to describe Red Sun, and it was absolutely unreal live in Louisville! When you get around to more b-sides, there's a set of 3, one from each dystopia comeback, that they made their own backstage/dressing room MVs for, and they're hilarious. Those are Sahara, Break the Wall (best concert song), and Poison Love (which has a plotline of them all simping for Handong, since she was finally back for that comeback)

Welcome to the world of Dreamcatcher b-sides. Is it odd that I expected you weren't going to like this song as much, at least at first? It's really different from their title tracks, so as much as I've been looking forward to you watching it, I was also really scared you would do this first for exactly the reasons you were talking about in the video wrt expecting a drop that didn't come. All DC title tracks have that J-rock or metal influence, but their b-sides go _all_ over the place. Which I'm personally a fan of. If you want some whiplash, try checking out something like "In the Frozen" next followed by "And There Was No One Left." I'm sure both of those are already on your list, but they're pretty different, so maybe it would be fun to do them close together. And, well, Dreamcatcher _isn't_ six members. They're always seven, even when Handong was missing, so all the songs and choreographies they wrote when she was away were always intended to re-include her when she returned. DC has so much talent with all of their members that it's very noticeable when even a single person is missing--not because any one person carries the team but because they all carry it equally. Most other people have already covered the meaning of the song by now, but...yeah. "Red Sun" is lyrically dark and even, I would go so far as to say (complimentarily), fucked up. What I read from it is that the narrator(s) of the song are some kind of witch or vampire or other supernatural creature who takes deep pleasure in watching their victim ("you") struggle. The phrase "red sun" is a common induction to hypnosis in Korean popular culture, meaning that if you have been hypnotised, that phrase will cause you to drop into the trance state and become suggestible or even completely subservient to the will of the hypnotist. The narrator of the song takes pleasure in watching their victim struggle before submitting and then, apparently, allowing the narrator to torture them. JiU and Siyeon's lines in the bridge are the starkest examples. "Your body will tremble," as if in fear or possibly seizing. "When the trembling stops, I'll return," presumably at the point that the victim is either completely compliant--or even dead. So, _yes,_ "Red Sun" is seductive. But, also kind of similar to "BEcause," it's not sensual or loving; it's a seduction more akin to temptation. Even more than "BEcause," imo, since "BEcause" (which came after "Red Sun") has a narrator who genuinely believes they're in love with their victim, where the narrator of "Red Sun" doesn't even pretend it's about romance. They're _just_ here to hurt you and love every second of your torment. The hypnotic instrumental goes really well with the song artistically, _and_ it's fun to listen to. I get the same kind of joy from "Red Sun" that I do from, like...villain songs in musicals, I guess. I hum this a lot while I'm doing chores because I personally would love to strangle my laundry. :p This is absolutely my favorite DC song. Not the one that sold me on the band, but absolutely my current favorite.

Red Sun is a catchphrase used by 김영국 along with the hand gesture while he hypnotizes people. His appearance on TV meant the catchphrase and gesture entered Korean popular culture and that's why they say it and do the gesture in this song.

Red Sun was included in Dreamcatcher's amazing first studio album Dystopia: Tree of Language. Scream was probably the "worst" song in that album. So the sound for BEcause was created by Leez and Ollounder around a year earlier. The Live performance is from the D:RtU mini album era (Odd Eye). It's one of DeuKae's signature non-Rock sounds. As for Handong: she's the middle sister. She brings balance to the group in a way similar to what JiU does. And everybody loves her and think of her as the funniest member... SuA just adores her. ("Everybody loves Handong, including Handong"). Together they've made some legendary Vlives. Also, Dongie has matured, speaks Korean better and has a lot of confidence, that even the rest enjoy. Not bad for a girl who the other's didn't know how she looked like at first, because she was wearing hats all the time and was hiding her face, because she was shy. Moreover, Handong's a very beautiful person, which adds to Dreamcatcher's allure. She was very popular in Primavera 2022. Her headbanging was legendary and was complemented by the Queen of Metal herself, Floor Jansen, who noticed her perfectly executed Dutch Windmill. It's a fact that A:SU Dongie hits differently. And yes, Primavera Sound 2022, was Dreamcatcher's Rockiest concert of 2022, even without the live band.

During SCREAM era, SuA had a painful ganglion cyst on her wrist joint that she had surgically removed mid-promotions. her hands are already the smallest in the group and a bandage on her wrist really dwarfed her hand lol. you can see it on the DC notes vlog on their channel. she said that her wrist started hurting one day and she was worried that it was arthritis so she had it checked out by a doctor, who recommended to remove it surgically. it hurt so bad but she braved through it in every performance and you can see in one vlog when she was bantering with Yoohyeon(or more like bothering her) that she didn't want her left hand touched. also, you can see the bandage on the Studio version of Scream choreography and some few music show performances of the girls.

Thanks for the video. "Red Sun" came out before "BEcause", so when "BEcause" came out, I also had "Red Sun" vibes.. Their b-sdies definitely has the others in the chorus more. Also their b-sides could be a lot different than their title tracks. Since this is your first one without the expected hard hitting stuff not appearing, it can throw you off, lol. "Red Sun" is really popular among InSomnias. I really like it. JiU's belt was really nice too. SuA made this choreography to hypnotize you, so that's what she's doing! Glad you saw the 7 member version, but like you said. Dreamcatcher feels and just plainly is complete with all 7 members. The snap in "Red Sun" is my favorite part and so satisfying to hear. Red Sun is amazing. I agree that you should do other popular b-sides like Black and White, Break The Wall etc. Was so glad to see them perform all 3 in NYC. Break The Wall was my favorite performance of that night. Honestly, there is so much good content out there that you really can't go wrong with whatever you choose to listen/watch from them or fan created content.

Sua has a perfectly proportioned body of the type you usually see with gymnasts and acrobats, and that's how she moves. Yoohyeon is tall, very thin, and very long waisted so she has incredible flexibility in that area which you'll notice the more you watch her. She works hard to maintain that figure. She said that during promotions she eats nothing but Yukhoe and sashimi. Dami is also very thin, but that's because she has a very fine bone structure. She has the most beautiful, long graceful fingers I've ever seen. Gahyeon is what we used to call 'big boned', and she struggled with her weight during the first few years after debut. However, she is a very determined, single minded woman and took control of her body with Pilates and diet. It got to the point that the other members, Dami in particular, told her to stop dieting because she had reached perfection. Her body type is very common in Korea and people with that body type gain weight easily. Jiu has a body type that you see a lot in Kdrama actresses and models. She's a definite foodie, but also has a powerful will so she always looks fantastic. Siyeon is big boned as well, but being taller than Gahyeon it's easier for her to maintain a healthy weight. That leaves Handong. I can't say much about her since I'm not as familiar with Chinese body types, other than China being so vast and having many so ethnic groups, there is far more variety than in Korea. She is the strongest member of the group and has very powerful legs. If she kicked you, it would be lights out.

This is a great analysis! Dami also works hard to diet and is very strict with herself, JiU has been concerned that she’s been too thin before (you can really see it in Boca). Yoohyeon’s unique proportions also make her dancing really eye-catching so even though her technique isn’t quite top tier dance material yet, she is incredible to watch.

I don't think gahyeon is 'big boned'. its just that she gain weight easier than other girls, thats diffrent from big boned people. my friend has big bone, even if she don't have any 'fat' she would still look big. if you seen gahyeon pillates blog u can see how small her body are. and a reminder that its 'camera' people look bigger on camera.

@@pearinsomnia9188 a professional contemporary dancer actually compliment yoohyeon dance alot. yooh actually pass as 'lead dancer' probably even more than most lead dancer on most girlgroup the fact that she and handong are not on dance line are questionable. jiu and maybe dami honestly can be main dancer if they're on other group. and siyeon as main vocalist can keep up with dreamcatcher choreo is actually impressive, now what surprised me are gahyeon, she improved too much on her dancing and vocals, if you notice on maison her move are one of the cleanest and she don't skip any step

Yoohyeon is an amazing dancer, I just see a lot of people saying she could be *Dreamcatcher’s* main dancer lately when her technique is a little bit behind SuA/JiU/Dami. She could easily be the lead dancer in pretty much any other group, it’s true-the caliber of DC’s dancing is just too high! Their synchronization is also top tier.

When you really get down into it with assigning roles, it's gotta be tough to decide official roles when they're all as well-rounded as DC is. It's pretty apparent that Sua is more or less a true ace, but honestly there's a good arguement that Dami and Gahyeon are as well. So now we've got 3 aces, and two of them are the rap line, that really puts a perspective on just how good everyone's dance and vocals are lol

The girls love this song and they insisted that it be promoted along with Scream, otherwise it probably wouldn't have choreo. It gave Sua her big chance to show off her skills as a choreographer. From a choreographer's point of view you always want an odd number of dancers. It's much easier to make interesting formations, so 5, 7, or 9 is always better. The phrase 'Red Sun' was used by a stage magician in Korea when he was hypnotizing people from the audience. So the girls are hypnotizing you, and their costumes, makeup and the lighting suggest they are vampires, so it has the creep factor covered.

12:45 everything with handong is really so much better. I really appreciate here that it's only sometimes we see Jiu hitting that kind of bridge. I'm in love with Red Sun overall and I think this song is pretty popular among Insomnias more so because we like to correlate Dreamcatcher to horror and this song has a lot of horror elements to it. I think I have learned what Red Sun meant but I forgot LOL. I believe it is something about hypnosis though. Try to focus on Siyeon especially at the first chorus of the Special Clip!
