This is a mastperiece and this version and production is from a whole another level! Last Saturday I experienced this song live in concert with their 20th anniversary show in 013, the Netherlands and really it is live even so much better. This band is from another dimension! Can you imagine this is basically a bonus track? It's even better than other bands regular output. It is also great to see how this songs lifted itself up out of the 'bonus' status and was included in the Omega alive show and since 2019 a regular song during live shows. As the Quantum Enigma album came in various packages back then and every package had it's own bonus track, a lot of people did not even know this song. Now they do! 😉

This song was written by bassist Rob van der Loo. Quantum Enigma is the 6th album, and first with Rob. This performance is from the 2021 virtual show, which was released on DVD. There will eventually be a great live concert recording. It was one of the songs played at the 20th anniversary concert last Saturday in The Netherlands and streamed online. I'm sure they will make a DVD out of it. For Now, more from the virtual show: The Skeleton Key, Unchain Utopia, Victims of Contingency, and Kingdom of Heaven Pt. 3.

This is Omega Alive, the livestream done in 2021 during the pandemic. The show was prerecorded, it's almost like a movie with a great production, but they did play the songs live. They released 4 songs of the show officially in their YT channel, and the rest are in the DVD, this one included. But this Italian guy ripped it off lol. I strongly suggest you get the DVD/BRay if you can because it's all amazing. It's worth it.

Hello Todd! This video is from "Omega Alive" which was their online concert last summer during lockdown. Simone really unleashed the full power of her head voice here. I strongly recommend you to watch the aftermovie as well, not necessarily as another reaction, just watch it on your own. Epica aftermovies are amazing, with many slow-mo shots. Here you heard Simone from 2021. In the aftermovie you'll hear Simone from 2014 (album audio). The main difference between Omega Alive and Aftermovie for this particular song is that in Omega Alive there is no choir until the second half of the song where you can hear a little bit of it. So, Simone is singing everything in this version. If you watch the Aftermovie, you can clearly hear the difference. I would say it sounds bigger thanks to the choir. But Omega Alive is better for showcasing Simone's beautiful soprano. Both versions are amazing. Btw, you said it's heavy, but this song doesn't even have Mark's harsh vocals in it. But yeah, really nice thick riffs. Now, regarding Simone's super high notes... There's another song written by the same bassist Rob. You now need to react to EPICA - Ascension - Dream State Armageddon (OFFICIAL LYRIC VIDEO) Why? Because Simone is hitting even higher notes in that song. But the thing is, in this lyric video you can't see her, only hear her singing it. It's a great video with studio audio, so everything sounds perfect. The song also has some black metal section. I guess you'll consider it even heavier. 🙂 If you want to see Simone singing those high notes live on stage, although the audio recording is not HQ, you can watch EPICA - Ascension - Dream State Armageddon ( Live at Graspop Metal Meeting 2017)

nice to see you enjoying it so much todd! i went to epica's 20th anniversary last saturday where they did that song but they are just as good live, what a great band this song was from their omega alive concert here i have another song from the same concert also with italian subtitles but that It doesn't matter, but I think you will enjoy this song very much!
