REACTION: Georgia Tech OUTPLAYED in loss to Syracuse

Tech road loss by 3 isn't a bad loss against a partially rebuilt dark horse Syracuse with McCord - probably a top ACC QB and top 10 in country - and multiple SEC transfers. Tech also showed some toughness at the end. I figured before the game that if it was at Tech, then Tech would win but at the dome I expected Syracuse to win. I hope Rutherford heals fast. I hate when these young guys get injured, especially when they are NFL material. You can only pray they come back. I've lived in Atlanta for decades, but I'm from the Northeast and been a Syracuse fan since a kid back when Syracuse was an elite football program. Both Tech and Syracuse are resurgent teams after being down a bit. Despite Syracuse being down for a couple decades I went to Bobby Dodd Stadium last year with the kids (who were rooting for Tech and the jacket mascot) to watch Syracuse fall short. This year, it was fun to watch until that onside kick, then it was way too close for comfort, but one hell of an end to the game.

Without beating Syracuse, I didn't see the logic of Tech being promoted to Top 25 after BC humiliated FSU at home -- I do believe if the Jackets can beat Louisville at home, Tech will again become Top 25 ranked.

Syracuse fan here. Tech has a very good team. We have many returning starters from a bowl team and coach Brown was great in the Portal. Getting Kyle McCord from a OSU was a steal. After we got Kyle, I got right on the OSU channel and said that Howard was not an upgrade and that McCord would rip apart the ACC if he stays healthy. They laughed at me. GT fans DO NOT PANIC! It is early in the season. You will be in the hunt! Hopefully, SU as well.

A great level headed and mature take and not a melt down like some others. As a SU alumnus, GT will have a really good season as King is a really good dual threat QB. Much respect for you and GT. Syracuse football is getting back to its roots again which is good to see after far too many years of sucking.

I really enjoyed the resilience of the team. Even johnson coached teams would have lied down after the first half. They never gave up.

We never gave up or Syracuse let up until we fix this defense we will struggle to win 6 games

3 man rush with soft zone gave Syracuse all day to take GT apart. Could not get to him with 4, should have blitzed every down, results would not be much different. O line F on run blocking and C on pass blocking. Bad coordinators had very bad day.

Tech's DL couldn't pressure a Water Balloon; moreover, Tech's DL couldn't get a Sack against Buford H.S.

GT is a good team. They'll bounce back. I think what we've seen these first 2 weeks from Syracuse is a completely loaded offense. They have a LOT of firepower.

Bright spots no turnovers, special teams was good besides missed FG. Bad- poor tackling, couldn’t get a push on either lines of scrimmage.

Syracuse was supposed to be a win. Expect a 5-7 season or 7-5 this year at best.. Techs defense is still horrible in 2024. It was nice being in the top 25 rankings for one whole week this season I guess.. GT players and staff literally got their ass handed to them and should be embarrassed. The score don't tell the story. Watch the whole game replay if you missed it smh..

Secondary just got torched…. GT linebackers shouldnt be asked to cover receivers and tight end 20-30 yards down the fieid… bad job coaching and NO pressure on the QB. Syracuse came to play too… so just have to do better… Have to get their defense back on track… Should have punted there at the end… bad decision on Brent Key… The offense needs to be cut loose going forward… Syracuse deserved the win!!!

Good Grief! This is NO surprise for anybody that knows GT Football. First or all, we haven't played anyone of significance. Secondly, WE STILL HAVE NO DEFENSE! GSU moved the ball on us, and Syracuse moved up and down the field at will, and FSU just SUX. It's possible that Syracuse will have a descent season, and their QB is very good, but the bottom line here,,,, we should have beat this team. We still have NO DEFENSE, and a piss poor coaching performance with clock management at the end of the first half. Disgusting and PATHETIC. Go Jackets, win or lose...
